That small ferro and knife is just what I have been looking for.
I still love my WAZOO cap after about a year of use! I have almost all the basics for survival inside it and nobody is the wiser. The pocket on the bill is large enough to hold a mini Bic lighter which is just great in addition to the ceramic cutter and rod. I still keep my main gear in my pants because if I lose them I'm really in trouble. But backups are always a good thing.

Don't mind the rain. As our DI used to say "You're not going to melt in a downpour numbnuts!"
If I get wet, I get wet though I'd prefer not to so I do carry an old military issue poncho when I'm out and about.
Love the Wazoo Cap and Belt. People complain about the price of the different individual items or kits, but honestly it's around the same price as if I were to source it on my own and I don't have to go through the hassle.

Greetings Jason, I need a break from the rain... I like the concept of the hat with the survival items... My idea of the perfect survival gear would be hat and belt, and poncho and knife..
Thin items can be tucked under a velcro patch on the front in typical similar hats.
Love the rain. I got a big ole mellon, it accommodates the extra brain matter I have..I could probably carry two of those kits :) nice kit and I'm sure it could prove to be useful. Thumbs up video Brother ~John

It is 'cache', a French word (which we have borrowed) that sounds almost exactly like our word 'cash'. If it were pronounced to rhyme with 'sashay' it would have an accent aigu over the 'e': caché.

Nice review, and interesting concept! Btw, I'm a pin head too! So, when up sh*t creek without a paddle, be sure to have sumthin up the Wazoo? I like the rain, except when standing in it.
Have you tried bringing that kit through TSA? From what i understand the biggest point of those kits was to be able to travel on a plane with it even internationally, which is why the knife blade is ceramic and not metallic. But i imagine that stuff would pop up in a Xray.
It would be good to point out that to effectively use that ceramic knife as a striker, it must be used in the closed position (as you did). That cut out in the handle is not just for opening the knife If much force is applied perpendicular to the plane of that blade, it will snap. Ceramic is hard but brittle. Voice of experience.

Great concept and design from WAZOO. Well thought trough on the items and utility of each item. Every item has function and solves a problem that can't be easily recreated from the landscape when you need it now.
Although rain can be annoying and cause issues.
I personally like the rain. Spring rains wash the winter away, softens the earth for new vegetation to break through and (my favorite) it makes the earth, the woods/forest smell good. 😊

I think you called it denier record maybe I'm not sure exactly what you called it but yeah where did they get that cord sounds like it would be some good stuff to have. I've worn a cache cap for a few years now. Changed up the load out several times and never had a problem with tsa if I keep the fishing kits and no ferro rod. Found a smaller diameter ferro and a fishing card in my wallet. Rain, indifferent.
I remember the first time it rained when I was in "Boot Camp" . . . Senior Drill came out, looking at all of us in formation before him.... his first words were (& I quote) "Your first lesson [insert some colorful language here) for today is this: It NEVER rains on the Army....It rains IN the Army."

This Friday I’ll get my veterans disability and I will order a belt also.I’m a long haul box truck driver and I well always try to pack for whatever could happen because Murphy’s law I’m so on it’s shit list when it comes to events smh lol
