Good to see someone actually putting their stuff to the test. Ive seen many "budget items" that i would trust and this is a good way to prove what works and what doesnt
Friends and family don't get my mindset and often question me using kit and techniques around the house/garden.
Sure I 'could' use a barbecue lighter and gel for the firepit, yes I could use the kitchen gear to cook with,
But if I can't trust my kit round the house/garden/safe environment, I can't place my life on it elsewhere.

Thin air will cause the out of breath issues. I played at Coors Field multiple times and experienced the same.

I had to post my LM wave and Gerber Susp back to the house once as I'd neglected to remove them from my packstraps, the awesome security guy at EMA let me through to the shop to buy envelopes and tape and the lass on desk took it to post for me.
I was uniquely lucky that day.

to be honest, even in this kind of travel i would have my poncho instead of a rain jacket in my bag or my pocket tarp. I always have one or the other. I would consider that a fair thing to have brought.

I have used bread twist ties as an improvised fishing lure. Just wrap around a hook.I tend to keep the plastic coated ones in different colors.

Wondering if the twist on - rechargeable lights would be better for survival. Also Im definately ordering wazoo gear now. Not sure why I’ve been such a panzy for thinking it was rediculous, because this video and demonstrations we’re sick. Thanks for getting out there Jason.

The batteries in rechargeable lights fail, but you may not be able to replace them. There are rechargeable batteries in standard sizes for replaceable lights, even button cells.

This happen to me. Maybe a Truck Bed Survival in the cold.
I went to Swinging Bridge Trail. Dummy me. I lock my keys inside. I have a truck cover on bed. I called towing for lock smith. Its far from town. No locksmith would come except one 90 minutes away. 2 hrs before dark. Temp getting colder. He was cranky. A female trying to get game plan. I had 2 beach towels and am EDC and small tarp in bed. Luckily it wasnt locked. temp 27°. Phone died. no towing yet. The gate u cant open from inside bed. I unlocked cover. Its cold. I had flash lights. towels dont do shit. Lucky for me. The angry locksmith found me. gps didnt know where I was. I did get home in the dark. My truck bed locks so I cant hide a 2nd key there. Can u do a Locked truck survival video with truck w bed cover and without one. Blanket was inside truck w extra gear. I had food and drink in hike bag and emergency blanket, tarp and towels. Not warm enough. How to get help. after ph dies scenerio? On mountain paved road. I made it fine but didnt have to sleep overnight in truck bed. Locksmith says hikers do this alot and its hard to find cars.

Good eye! No, they are in production, coming soon! Are you on our email list? We not longer are offering the "slap ruler" with the Tracking Bandana. It was a super cool addition that was a result and request of the experts we consulted, but a majority of folks didn't "get it", so unfortunately, we discontinued that part.

Imo, if you can start the fire, the mylar is great for its size, but would they reeally keep the rain off ya,? I mean if it poured all night?, i know tarps take up alot of space, but a large heavy duty tarp is pretty much essential in the rain,IMO, mylar emergency blankets wont keep you dry i dont think, but a tarp and a good fire going, would...GL!,

It's cool and I carry Teva's to cross water but a FNG wore sandals and met a copperhead and it ruined the camping trip dealing with him. Just wear shoes. Cool otherwise!

Why waste the tape on the tarp. Couldn't you just stuff the corner, twist it and then use the cordage for a slip knot of some kind to hold it in place as part of the over all line? Not trying to be a smart pants or anything, just asking.
Lots of ways to skin a cat. Yes, we could have used cordage or fishing line. The tape was just faster and didn’t require cutting our cordage.
I didn't mean to cut the cordage just put a marlin spike hitch or something to hold it in line with the cordage. No cutting. Would that work?
@@paulschwartz2464 Yep. Probably could have made that work as well. Just need to be really careful with the Mylar. The tape sticks to it really well and got the job done.
@@ONThree I saw later in the video that you mentioned the frailness of the mylar. I never thought of that. The small diameter of the cordage would probably have ripped it. No I know and won't ruin my mylar blanket. Thanks!
