JumpCut Internship Audition Tape

WES ANDERSON AND ME :
Last week I saw Asteriod City. Easily one of his best. There is a scene with a mustache that was reminiscent of a film I had made. Several years ago, when I was fresh out of film school, I applied for an apprenticeship at JumpCut Studios. To apply you had to create a 60 minute introduction video of yourself. This video obviously amateurish. But consider I had four days to write, gather a small crew, light, shoot, and edit the film. I think its decent considering the speed with which I produced it. The reason I'm sharing this is not only do I mention Wes in the film, but if you have seen Asteroid City, you will no doubt see the mustache trick he used in the film that I used like 10 years ago. Somebody said, maybe he saw this. Doubtful. But a crazy clever coincidence. Oh, and the last 2 secs are from a video JumpCut made, a lot of them were instructional. Hence my video format and end scene that I was trying to bring back around to thier own content. Needless, to say I didn't get the job.
They more or less said. " Everybody at the office loved it, But, we are looking for something else."
Uhmmm ...ok. I guess.
