I VISITED DAMASCUS - Umayyad Mosque

I visited the Umayyad Mosque in the heart of Old Damascus. This location has housed the central place of worship in Damascus for thousands of years, going back to the Kingdom of Aram-Damascus. The current-day mosque sits above several other sites including: a Byzantine church, Roman temple to Jupiter, and an Aramean temple to Hadad. The temple to Hadad is believed to be the site connected to several biblical stories from the Aram-Damascus period (King Ahaz and Naaman). Here's my experience of visiting the site.
