My brain just can't ever jive on anything besides clover keys on a Fender style headstock. Beautiful bass though. Bravo HB
It does rake some getting used to when the rest is vintage looking
Throw some Hipshot lollipops on this bad boy and upgrade the pickups
Just ordered one of these. Can't wait for it to arrive. I've been thinking about buying a HB for a while and I finally took the plunge.
Harley Benton are smashing it lately and loving your videos Jonny 😎🤘
Thanks so much!
Gettin' mine on Tuesday!!! Can't wait. For that money, it's a no brainer!! Great video, Thanks for that!!! Cheers!
Awesome! Hope you enjoy 😄 Thanks very much
Splendid! Splendid! Just curious to hear this bass slapped!
Lovely bass Jonny, looking forward to a full review.
Cheers! 😊
Thanks a lot from Germany/Saarland...
I enjoyed a presentation with a "heart full of soul"...
I am definitely buying this.
Great video and what a great looking bass. I recently purchased the standard Hb jazz and my only criticism of that model would be the weight - it feels about five times heavier than my main bass, a 1987 Fender Japan precision - and the machine heads which are inaccurate and rather crunchy. That said, it cost £158 delivered which is a spectacular value. I love this shell pink finish and may well be tempted to grab one at some point.
Glad they addressed the hardware! Still need to address the weight 🥲
Awesome bass and review! 👍
Ok I figured out my HB, sorry for bad mouthing it. Still not completely to my liking but for the money I cannot complain. I still need to file down the frets edges though. Thanks for reviewing these and putting them through the paces!.
Hey Jonny Harley Benton MB4 SnideRay next hopefully. Keep up the great work😎
Beautiful bass Jonny. Ridiculous price. And a nice cardigan. This video has everything we need…
I am Cardigan King. Thanks mate!
That bass is just gorgeous... I am very happy for you 😊
Stunner! Cheers
Thanks for the cool video Jonny!
Thanks gang! Can't wait fie the full review 😁
Beautiful!
Such a beauty, i feel like i need it now) i'm loving the color. I really hope it is not very expensive and i can afford it
£199! Super affordable 👌
Not gonna lie, it looks fabulous.
I play short scale, but this one is pretty enough for the stretch.
My very first bass was a shell pink Aria Pro II. It's a shame it has oxidized over time and is now a slightly hideous orangey pink 😭 This HB bass looks lovely
ARIA PRO II was made in Japan by MATSUMOKU
We need pictures!!
Oh I'd love to see that Aria! Got a soft spot for them having owned a few haha
@@JonnyDibble I will always love my first bass 🥰 I put some stickers on it so that will probably make people's eyeballs twitch 🤣
I got one of the sunburst ones and believe it or not it is absolutely on par with my Fender basses. I'd get this one too if it didn't have those goofy ass tuners. That just doesn't work. The elephant ears and brass barrel bridge is just fine on the other ones.
how heavy is ist? the thing with theri jb-75 was that it was super heavy i had 3 of them and all of them were over 5kg
That headstock looks MASSIVE!
Might just be the wide angle, it's not big in person imo
Jonny do you only own budget basses or do you ever go premium? I stopped endorsing the expensive kit when I had kids and I love having the option to own more. Keep up the good work love your content. I literally want this bass for the colour alone
The guitar directly behind him is an American Professional II Jazz Bass.
Hey Johnny; Great looking bass. My only gripe about the Harley Benton basses is that they seem to run heavier the say my Fenders or Spector. More in line with my V2 Sire J.In other words too heavy to be amongst my regular players. How is this weight wise?
Haven't weighed it yet, but it IS heavy
I just bought my fender MIM jazzbass a month ago and love it other than i was unsattisfied with that there wasnt any shellpink or pearloid block inlays
And now harley benton comes out with this
Aiya a Fender MIM prob is better anyways, ive never tried a harley benton so
Aaaand you made me buy also this one 😅
Sorry not sorry 🤭
I cant find this bass in this colour ??
Compare to the Squier Jazz, whats your thoughts / opinion, cheers
Compared to the Classic Vibe? Tough to say right now, I'll be able to give me full opinion after demoing properly 😊
Nice one! Any chance that you'll get your hands on one of the new 2022 passive Sire basses? 🤞
Would love to get a V3 or V5! Sadly not unless a used one comes up for sale at the moment though 🥲
@@JonnyDibble yeah I’m seriously looking at that black V3P and then upgrading to all black hardware stealth mode!
@@JonesHess loooove that black out version!
Those sealed tuning keys work fine, but I would prefer full size Fender tuning keys.
Yeah I did think it strange, but I very quickly adjusted!
Hopefully there gonna be precision version. 🤞
That would be great!
Hmmm... Sire headstock and neck binding and inlays from the Sire V7?..
VERY similar!
Kinda off the topic, but did you have to pay any import taxes by ordering from thomann, assuming that you live in the UK.
Hi! I live in the UK and didn't hav3 to pay any kind of import tax
Like the look ...but still prefer the PJ74 from Harley Benton.
However waiting for my new shiny (or dull) JP 450 to arrive ...half early Christmas pressie and half from another cheap bass sale.
I really liked the JJ-550!
Surprised it came with a tort pick guard. I’m seeing mint guard on their website 👀
Different bass! They also released the standard edition one in shell pink with a mint guard 😊
@@JonnyDibble mint guards are so much better looking than that modern, salami tort. If it's not a genuine 60s tort or a Spitfire tort, it's pretty much hideous.
This is a different bass with different machine heads, block inlays and neck binding. I have to admit I think it looks great with a mint pickguard
what'up.yeah. that's superb ercording! catch you later! Jonny!))
Thanks! 😄
I'd love one . . I am concerned about the weight. .
Beautiful finish, is it lighter than the jb75?
I’d love to know what the weight and balance is like too. It’s the only thing that put me off getting the JB75
I'll talk about the weight in full detail in the main review, it IS on the heavier side
is it balanced? what weight would it have?
Balanced well! It is heavy though. I'll dive into it more in the full review 😊
What about the new HB MV-4JB without the gotoh tuners?
We spoke about this in our podcast that comes out today! They look insane
I think I'm starting to need four more strings. Just saying...
I see a schecter robert deleo in the back so I have to see the whole video
Yeah its an old Model T! 🤭
Nice video. But as Al Di Meola would say "pick from the wrist" young man and not the elbow.
Those tuners... 🙈 I just can't do it... Although affordable enough to replace..
They're lovely quality mind!
@@JonnyDibble no doubt Johnny.. And I'm not generally a shallow person... But it's just astethics... Don't look at me like that... 😁
You can always buy one locally and pretend to do an unboxing. 🎸😉👍
These colors for this bass series do not impress me at all. They are quite generic, dull, and bland.
Again another jazz bass from HB with the same ugly tortoise pickguard that they use on almost all their basses lately.
I love tortoise pick guards, all my basses must have them!!!
Tort.jpeg
I love the tort
The daphne blue one looks really pretty though
