WA DhuFish & Flathead on Bottom Meats

Fishing offshore Rockingham with Spence and Don looking for new dhu ground. Found dhus and a decent flathead on bottom meats. Also advice on storing fish in your esky and electronic appliances for your boat.

No, thankfully! It was earlier this year. I didn’t take my go pro, but we won largest dhu fish category.

@@WAFISHING well done 🤘🍻. In the 40's or deeper. I mainly fish in the 40's but it's not that much further to hit the deeper ground hey. Last time a couple weeks ago we got 5 of those big flathead 🤘

@ryantweddle3167 try around there for KGs if flattys around.
Mostly fish 40s, this time of year not a bad idea out to 60s.
You’ll get dhus out to 100m, but numbers thin out.

@@WAFISHING yeah we get some big KG's too around there. Normally a bye catch on a big triple hook bottom meat style rig. Kind of hard to target them unless you fish 2 rods, one bottom meat and one say padanoster with say a 3/0. Im toying with the idea of the bottom meat head as the sinker with a 3/0 or 4/0 hanging off at the bottom then a 3 way swivel further up with a 7/0 or 8/0. Then can target both big demersals and the big kg/flatties.
