*This battery reconditioning program exceeded my presumptions. It worked on any drill battery, several AA and AAA batteries, **batery.repair** and any camera battery. The steps are simple and the act itself is exciting to do. No matter what type of battery you`ve got, it is sure to function again!*
Making use of the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxcJ22tnHH9l1vjdIdEIG27iOG55P7LXI8 reconditioning plan, I just saved 2 auto batteries from being completely junked. The guides were very simple to follow. I wish I would have found this years ago! You may use the guide to recondition any battery type
I hear you have to be careful whether or not to use the AGM mode as this increases voltage to 14.7v which can be too high for some AGM batteries. So you have to be careful when using this setting even if you have an AGM battery. The standard CAR mode Sports most AGM batteries at a lower charging voltage of 14.4v. Also, RECOND is not recommended for AGM batteries. It is meant for wet cell and Ca/Ca batteries. This will damage your battery! It is stated in the manual but not so clear!!
My Golf that I purchased second hand a few weeks ago had a totally flat battery due to the park light being left on undetected for a few days after the dealer had replaced a blown tail lamp under warranty :( I got one of these chargers and recharged the battery. It took over 24 hours using the AGM and RECON settings. Eventually it was on the trickle charge setting, so seems to have done the job. The only hassle I have is that the ECM seems to have been corrupted and the car is not driving or changing gears (automatic) properly. I am taking it back to the dealer where I got it to be sorted out. But the charger seems to have worked well. Recommended.
A word of caution, I ride with a group of bikers that no longer use the brand as have had between them 3 Ctek units catch alight and causing significant damage (one of which left his charging unit on his bike seat and ended up burning down his garage along with everything in it), make sure unit is on solid non flammable surface far from any flammable objects.
My guess is they placed it on a surface with oil/fuel for it to catch on. These things get quite hot, so the fault would be with the operator of the charger, and not the unit itself.
Here's my question. I'd like one that also has a reserve charge. Meaning if I left the dome light on in the summer "Noco or Ctech not plugged in" will the device juice and act as a booster to jump start it? Not plugged in!
Thank you for the information,♥️♥️ brother. I have this charger, but I am upset with it. It did not charge me any direct battery. It moves to step 4 after an hour, step 7 and then the charging is complete. But without any result, does the dsulfator feature work or is it just a fake charger?➡️📌➡️📌➡️
I've owned my ctek 5.0 for 2 years now. Of course never read the manual that came with it and subsequently lost it. Thank you for the excellent explanation on the different modes 👌🤙👏👍
Interesting video, But why were you changing the mode button after starting to charge the battery, surely the mode button should have been selected before starting the charge.
Its a Greig Thing / I also would like to know. I just bought it and have been charging for 11 hours. Still in step 3. Due to lockdown, my battery had not been charged properly.
An amount of useless videos, all the same! Nobody tells what's the temperature compensation function, nobody tells what the recond function and what the difference between the desulfation function (as the instructions say, they are exactly the same), nobody tells if, in low temperatures, the AGM option must be activated, even with lead batteries...
I have a ctek, had it connected to a spare battery for years, Stays at 13.3 volts. more or less.. It may have been better to take ur vid in a garage, with a power outlet..

Well done you explain the mode buttons and the use of the combinations most others fail to explain properly the mode buttons.

These must be good. The guy down the road has 450 of them charging his 450 car collection.
Brother, thank you ♥️ for the information, how long does the battery charge (how many hours) and is it useful in reviving the battery?? ➡️➡️➡️➡️
Between 2-3 days depending on battery type and how flat it is
Yes it’s useful in reviving a dead battery
These recon battery chargers are garbage the one i bought off amazon destroyed three good batteries
Can I connect it and close my bonnet? My car is parked on my drive next to a main street. I dont want someone knocking my car or charge or both.

I have this on my garaged car specifically for the trickle charge. However it never goes to number 8. Any idea why ?

If you have the charger permanetly mounted in your car, where do you put the power cord?
Please “ Can you use this charger for caravan leisure battery? My caravan leisure battery is 120amp
Yes you can. It's even up to 160Amp batteries.
2 slow, search 10A models
Informative presentation, but had to give it a 'negative' for not replying to a lot of viewers' questions.
I hate it when they do that !! We take the time to watch their video then they can't be bothered to reply !! Just reap the rewards from UA-cam ...
What’s the setting for when it’s a new agm battery?
Nice one...just ordered one thanks for the info 👍
nice informative vid. i so thumbs you up
hello, pls how mod for traction battery Varta Professional Dual Purpose 12V, 105Ah, 800A, LFS 105N?thx
Clear and concise review, subscribed. 👍
Honestly, it cant revive a dead battery. Use it just for maintenance. Sometime it kills a battery too..
Hi are you still happy with the Ctek? I am thinking of buying it, or the Suaoki ics4, thank you.
Yes, it's excellent.
Thank you, I will order the Ctek today.
Does the ctek have to always be connected to the mains to charge car battery
Yes? Pretty obvious isn't it
Is the CTEK MSX 5.0 the same as the CTEK CT Start/Stop 40-106 Charger?
Recond once a year? Even for new battery? Ty
Yeah, won't do any bad
THANKS
Is recon mode ok for sealed and agm batteries ???
No, surprisingly, you can choose AGM + RECON but it's not for AGM batteries. In the owner's manual, it says AGM + RECON is for Calcium batteries.
How long should it take to get to step 4 for ready to use?
Its a Greig Thing / I also would like to know. I just bought it and have been charging for 11 hours. Still in step 3. Due to lockdown, my battery had not been charged properly.
@Kim Kim ... Hi. How did you get on with the charger in the end ? Did it charge your battery ? Many thanks
