RMS Titanic 32" Model After Sinking Whats Inside Inspection Doomed Before It Left The Toy Factory
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 сер 2024
- RMS Titanic with authentic sinking action has broken. This Newqida remote control ship needs to be opened up so we can see whats inside. As you will see this is not that different to the very cheap $25 Russian Aircraft Carrier I purchased years ago. Whats really worrying is the lack of water protection around the remote control circuit board wiring. The way it was set up made any water that enters the remote control area unable to escape. This ship was doomed before it left the toy factory! It's a cheap and nasty build inside and out. I will need my audience's help to move forward with this Titanic repair. I also compare this Titanic model ship to the very impressive G Scale Newqida RC train. I'm starting to really question if my Titanic is a Newqida build at all and if my Titanic is actually really Titanic!
Below is my toy review of this Titanic model ship.
RMS Titanic 32" Remote Control Realistic Sinking Action Unboxing Review & Battle Boats
• RMS Titanic 32" Remote...
This large 32" Titanic model has lights and many of the details that say Titanic. This ready to run Titanic features a 4 channel remote control, 1/325 scale, 3 motors, 3 propellers, servo controlled rudder, rechargeable battery with charger, deck illumination, presentation rack and a overall feel of the RMS Titanic ocean liner via detailing that will impress some but disappoint others. I did buy the book LIFE Titanic: The Tragedy that Shook the World: One Century Later to make references to the Titanic model. From what I could see this model was fairly accurate to the real ship, but I was not counting rivets. On a closer inspection this Titanic model does scream cheap and fast build. Many aspects of it are typical of low end made in China rubbish. My buy price in Australia was $199 less a 20% discount at David Jones. So I paid $160AUD or roughly $122USD. I do look at e-bay to see what prices are being asked there and I was shocked. It ends up I purchased this model for a great price, far cheaper than the e-bay sellers setting up sales with Titanic tax and Titanic emotion. Be really careful if you are buying this model of Titanic!
RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early morning of 15 April 1912, after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. Of the 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, more than 1,500 died, making it one of the deadliest commercial peacetime maritime disasters in modern history. The largest ship afloat at the time it entered service, the RMS Titanic was the second of three Olympic class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line, and was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. Thomas Andrews, her architect, died in the disaster. The wreck of Titanic, first discovered over 70 years after the sinking, remains on the seabed, split in two and gradually disintegrating at a depth of 12,415 feet (3,784 m). Since her discovery in 1985, thousands of artifacts have been recovered and put on display at museums around the world. Titanic has become one of the most famous ships in history; her memory is kept alive by numerous works of popular culture, including books, folk songs, films, exhibits, and memorials. Titanic is the second largest ocean liner wreck in the world, only beaten by her sister HMHS Britannic, the largest ever sunk.

I'm hoping someone who is smart can tell me what to do next. I think the G scale train you see and the Titanic were the same price. The train came with a ton of track and other boogie. That train was purchased quite a few years back now.
hey the titanic is broke the moter is broke and the mother bord is broke and the codes are nothing you need to get a nuther one trust me you can't fix it
hey need some actual advice try filling the hull with rice like to the brim make sure the motherboards are exposed to it wait a few days and it should be fine btw love the vlogs
If you cannot find a solution to the original wiring diagram, you can re-wire the other two motors to the same contacts on the single working motor to supply all three with power on the forward control output. Reverse should act the same if you wire them together. Good luck with your titanic problem!
Thats an excellent idea!
leokimvideo the best thing to do is buy another model and waterproof it by applying adhesive to open areas or areas to which water can enter the vessel, it's a pretty neat way of keeping a toy alive for a while because infact the phone you are using to put in the water it's insides is covered with adhesive.
My son has an RC titanic and he decided to submerge it on Christmas Day. The power went out, and the unit was unresponsive. We let it dry out for 6 weeks, just to make sure there was no moisture near the electronics. We then dry tested it, and everything worked. Next step was to waterproof it. We brushed on clear silicone EVERYWHERE on the sides and top of the ship. Confident that it was waterproof, it made its maiden voyage on april 1 2017. Today is actually the 103rd anniversary of the striking of the iceberg, which caused its demise. This is a great toy, if you decide to get one, make sure to waterproof it first, and only sail it in dead-calm waters. also... our remote looks different than the one in your video, and ours does have Titanic printed on both sides of the bow.
I've purchased two of these models on Amazon for around 120.00 plus shipping. The first one I had the same issues as you - freezing motors, sinking.
First off, these are intended for fresh water use only. Simple chemistry, you get a boat in pool or salt water without adequate waterproofing, they corrode. Hence the frozen motor. That's exactly what happened there. Second, the waterproofing tape installed at the factory, well, that's anything BUT waterproof. Resultingly, the first one DID sink. To reinforce that, I added gold duct tape as a first layer of additional waterproofing, followed by a layer of clear, waterproof Gorilla tape. Now, granted this is not a very highly detailed model either. Having a bit of experience modeling the Titanic I added detailing such as the windows along the promenade and B decks, callsign pennants, flags and ensigns and did some painting of deck details such as benches and bollards. My total additional cost for material was around 20.00, using materials which can be purchased at any Home Depot or Walmart and total investment in time about 4 hours. So far I've had my current model for over a year with no issue whatsoever. With a bit of work it is possible to turn this into a reliable and fairly accurate model at a fraction of the cost of larger and more expensive Titanic RC kits.
Wondering as well
@Turtles #1 put the tape where the yellow tape was originally at that should peel off. It’s crap. I’m gonna use liquid nails to seal the seam under the tape. Or attempt to.
Love watching you do things. It's hard to work on a ship that " the only thing it learned to do was sink". Hugs to the family.
The spiders are gonna love it!
I've realized lots of the time Leo says: "you don't see that everyday on UA-cam". To be honest with ya I do cuz I watch Leo everyday!
There was waves in my pool and water got in my rc titanic (same kind as this) and it started to go down by the head as I pushed her off but I got to it in time.
My apologies for suggesting WD-40. I used it to get water out of a cheap RC submarine and it worked. I would imagine the electronics are different. It's a shame it wasn't properly waterproofed. If you pay the premium price, you should get a premium product.
You could probably imagine how shocked I was when I saw my comment in the video lol.
Hey it was worth giving it a go. Put it this way it didn't make things worse.
leokimvideo Also, it is possible that newqida used a design from another company to make this model, which would explain the lack of logos. As for a possible fix, maybe use the techniques you used on the ride on Thomas from a few years back.
The more I investigate this model I think what I have is a nasty knockoff playing out as a Newqida RC toy. The chances of anyone from China confirming this is possibly zero. I am really worried with how low end this Titanic model is.
before the WD40 was sprayed on, after the circuit board cleaner was dried...the tell tale signs of electrolysis was visible on the back of the board. That frosty white looking crusty stuff needs to be scrubbed off. That stuff is all the solder and metals from circuit board that have migrated towards their opposite voltage charge. You will most likely get it to work for a short time but ultimately now that the metals have started to move around and make crystal crusty bits...it is on its way out. If you really want to keep it going...replace the radio gear altogether.
Finally, your comment is free of the spam filter. Trapped in there for a week unable to be free. Yes that frosty stuff was all over the board. Scary how low end this model is. And I always thought David Jones sold good stuff!
:O
m3sca1 my daddy can fix that
“I think putting WD40 on that was a mistake” 😂😂😂
this gives New meaning to the titanic screw driver song
Wow leo! Over 1 million subscribers! That is amazing!!!!!
my brother once had a titanic toy from Barnes and noble it was just plastic and came with a book on the ship like illustrations on how the inside and all the floor levels of the ship looked and how it sank. And when you put it in water it would sink slowly down to the bottom and as it went down the two pieces came apart. It was smaller but very interesting.
Ssfinch with Beatles there worth a lot of money now. It's a titanic submersible model
That lacked in luster, the guts of this Titanic did not impress. Thumbs up!~John
No guts, no glory
Be careful with made in China rubbish, this ship is for sale on some wholesale sites for $45USD. Even thats too much
I have dealt with a r/c sinking in the past, I was with my cousin when it happened, I have two r/c boats, my grandpa’s boat from the 90’s and my r/c boat I got from my dad, I was using them at a little pond and I brought my cousin with me to the pond one day, long story short he accidentally rammed the little and old r/c into my other r/c, my r/c was old but made in the 2000’s. It is a pirate ship, not cheap and big, I can only use it when there is no wind other wise it would push the boat to the point that it would sink by campsite, back to the story, one of the fake cannons fell off from the crash, that was the beginning of my nightmare’s, it started to sink and the pond was deeper than what I could swim, I was in a pedal boat with him when playing with them and we went as fast as possible, we got it just in time, since this was not cheap, the motherboard was not ruined, it had a box like your titanic, but the difference was it was actually made right and had no holes, the motors still works somehow, it’s like the pool Thomas with the loading track, it’s like the old Thomas trains that still work after days in the pool. I have not tan it since because I don’t know what to use to fix the hole from the little boat. Somehow the little boat is faster than the big boat.also I would make a replacement cannon but I don’t know what to use to make a replacement cannon, the cannon is fake.
Trace the wires from the two motors onto the circuit board and heck the connections. You might have a broken wire, a rusted wire, or a broken soldering point. Trace each function back and isolate problems to find out where they are in the system.
Super late to this party, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this video. My son's new (to us) Titanic sunk in the pool yesterday, and he was so bummed it stopped working. I couldn't figure out how to get into the interior, and your video was EXACTLY what I needed. Had to drill out 2 spots but the rest came off. Opened it, dried what I could and left it overnight. It worked this morning! Happy boy and happy mom!! Hopefully it all continues to work. Thanks again. UA-cam for the win!
Yes when I got mine titanic I opened it before I ever put it in water and put more hot glue on the seals and waterproof the deck
Lol you always zoom in when you struggle with unscrewing the nails! 🤣
I m not an expert on electronics, but I wish you luck in fixing it.
I'm still laughing after you said "Trouble shiting" Constipation problems. xD
Leo please do a video of you and your son playing with the RC train 🙂
So ur power got back?
I've heard they are making a big hydro power system to get more power, for like 2mil
This Is One Of The Older Newqida (Or How Ever You Type It) Products. It Was Released In 1997 And Rereleased Again In 2012, With Major Problems, Trying To Rush It Out In Time For The 100th Anniversary. The Photos With The Ship With The Titanic Logo On The Bow Is Just The 1997 Release.
Oh, And Also, The Older Newqida Products Barely Had The Logo Molded On Them. I Have The Old 1997 Release But The Logo For The Bow Was A Sticker And It Got Taken Off And I've Sank Mine Many Times With No Problems Afterwords. I Will Try To Purchase The 2012 Release And See If Yours Was Truly A Ripoff.
Seems you have a "Titanic" problem on your hands. ;]
Hope it gets worked out!
LOL
leokimvideo +cz same
leokimvideo were do you live
Newqida and Rusco Racing (who made that strange boat) are one in the same. I saw a train set on a website exactly like yours that said Rusco Racing on it. (How much racing a train can do I have yet to determine)
Thanks for your video. My grandson’s is also broken with no propulsion at all. Your video helps with how to take it apart. Too bad you have to drill out some of the topside parts.
Often water logged electronics can be salvaged by drying in a bag of rice or desiccant (drying agent)- unless they have suffered permanent damage. Water may have gotten inside some of the components, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are damaged beyond repair. I suggest placing the circuit board in a bag of rice for 2 days and see if that helps. If that does not work, try replacing any active electronic parts (eg transistors). There aren’t that many, so this might work for you. Did you ever find out where all that water got into the hiull?
The best thing I can think you could do if you want to get it working again it would have to replace the electronics inside and it would get it back up and running. I think some rc car parts would work grate there. Not to expensive if you get 3rd party parts and the best part is most of the parts are water proof.
Leo it is so sad to see u being cheated out of your money things are just not made so good anymore like the train u also have. I hope u build a new layout for the train so tho
hey lio if you decide to through it out let me know I'll buy it.
@leokimvideo sorry got no idea ahaha at this point just stick some of those playmobile motors on there
Leo bring back the titanic use it as a floating toy that can sink or if u fixed it already u can use it sometimes
Fill it up with rice and let it dry if it doesn't work you need a new circuit board
When your goal in the video is to fix and sort out electronic malfunctions but you rip every thing to shit in the process
OMG YOU HAVE ONE MILION NOW WHEN DID THST HAPPEN! 😄😂
It'd be great to see that Train up and running again! Unfortunately wouldn't Redbacks or critters try to make a home in an environment like that?
The blasted Redbacks would jump this train so fast as it would be the perfect home for them.
that could make a cool video. redbacks on a train and see how long it takes them to fall or jump off.
hey leo any luck finding 2017 thomas minis?
ps congrats on 1 million subscribers
I'm not buying another Thomas MINI. It's just too much heartache to collect. It's got greedy now.
leokimvideo ok. not even classic characters like duck, bertie, annie and clarabel
nup..i'm totally over it
leokimvideo ok thanks for replying and congratulations on 1 million subscribers
~The deconstruction of the RMS Olympic
Poor TITANIC...
Whenever you get water in electronics like this the first thing you need to do is remove all power and open everything up. Let it air dry for a day or more.
Because you were driving the model while it was submerged and continued to do so while the electronics were wet, you may have permanently damaged it.
Careful with the screw driver. Aww what now a drill?!
If water gets on to circuit boards, it's kinda impossible to fix. The chip that makes it an RC ship on the circuit is basically fried since the water got on the contacts, then is short circuit it. if you want to fix it, you'll have to replace the circuit board since what you have done to it...
Today is my birthday sweet video!!!
Happy Birthday
leokimvideo thanks!!!
Maybe some of the solder and wires are touching on the circuit board? If any of the wires or solder touch then is short circuits things.
Super cool the way it sank I must say 😂 love watching you fixing up toys
I got the same one first of all I can’t get it to turn second of all I lost the remote third of all I lost the battery I’m screwed
years and years ago I had a US Coast Guard cutter RC ship that had similar problems: it never worked right after I put the water for the first time. I don't remember it sinking but it definitely shipped a lot of water when I put it in, and the electronics probably never dried out. I wonder if what happened to it is similar to what happened here.
Are You Gonna Review 2017 Wave 1 of the Thomas Minis?
it might be the transmittal it's most likely broken you need to replace it the transmittable is the black things on the bottle and replace the wires because it could have got damaged due to rust and water damage trust me I build boats for battle pond
hit the read more if you're on mobile
Ethan's gaming time How old are you
oh the radio control reciver ( chap one) that is inside the titanic is shorted making the motors go off once power is connected
The way you open that boat look so nervous and hasty, is the police on your tail?
i know little of electronics. but i dont think you should have sprayed WD-40 on the circuit board. conductive liquids of any kind would cause a board in a best case scenario to just cross connections and not work. advice would be to try and get the board dry then check solder connections for cracks and disconnections. worst case is removing and replacing those black things and rusted bits. i think they are capacitors?
alternatively, you could use a fuse checker for a car and see where the power stops.
He should leave perfect redback homes out for a week and then leave them in water overnight. With long tongs of course.
If the existing controller board is fried and you don't feel comfortable replacing components on it you could simply get a cheap radio and receiver and rewire the servo and motors to the new receiver and you'd have a much better radio to boot.
You should loosen the funnels if you can to make the funnels fall
Thomas I Titanic podudaraju se na ovom kanalu
try to replace the little black transistors that go to the moto
Is that the S.S Vienna and The Duchess From Tugs?
Or it the sound of you breaking it
what if... you could get a qween mary rc 1 plssss
fresh water wont normally damage electronics (having dropped a video production monitor in a river once) but it needs to dry throurugly we put ours in an airing cupboard for 3 days it took that long to dry out worked perfect after
Thanks
I love the Titanic soooooooooooooooooooooooo much
Are the engines and wires able to go in the water??
I hope you get it fixed
Hey Leo .... Are you about? I'm going to be in town - but what I would do is strap a couple of Estes motors to the Titanic and light it up....I would do the same with the extra bogies / track.
omg Bear
sorry i'm not big on e-mail
I'll bell you real soon - Bear
Catch up with Rodders, he's more important than me
Try finding Britanic and look for what's inside
throw it in the spider tank lol
Leo I Have A Relative Who Is An Electronics Wizard. I Showed Him This Video And He Said That The Problem is that the water should never have been able to go into the electronics otherwise they Would have been Alright. He Also Said It Might Help To Wash The Curcit board. He Also Said That the black things under the Curcit board are called Transistors And That they Eather Blew up after getting in contact with the water or they are filled up with water witch could be interfering with the electronics inside the Transistors. Anyway that's what he said. I Hope That Is Helpfull to You
try Corrosion-X 90102 but don't use it directly on the motors, just use it on circuit and wiring
Thanks
The real titanic wreckage lol
Can someone please tell me where I can get this model?
where di you buy this titanic?
What is the votage of the motor?
Notification squad
I think you should get a hornby Hugo
You're the best
the word titanic is at the back
you wanna get a real hobby grade esc and remote and wire it in. will work fantsatic
that knock off could be made so much better if you use real rc hobby grade parts and some conectors
The titanic took 2 hours and 40 min I think
So sorry to hear this Leo I am very sory
That's a total mess; I can't believe the entire lower deck wasn't waterproofed, I'd think the motors and stuff also need protection, not just the power board. FAIL! Seems the train was a different breed of brand, because the price for that ship is just madness, considering the fact it's essentially a no name brand... yikes. Not sure what you could do next, though might be the end of the titanic... maybe it can be a display piece at the bottom of the pool, could learn something about underwater decomposition :P
Let it dry completly and then try it. If it wont work try to oil the motors or change the motor for a new one
can you do a video on crashing bachmann trains
Where do you get it from?
Next time you get boats with electronics open them up so then you could hot glue up the boxes and wires properly
It depends on how much effort they put into there toys/models.
What the hell happened to the rudder?
Leo nearly blew up the not so titanic ,titanic
It seems to me that the tape was weaken by the water
Wow nice
I had that same problem with a smaller scale of the titanic it was remote controlled and it kept losing power then suddenly it sank and wouldn't work again D:
Putting back together????
I think the captain must go down with the ship
Where do you get that model in England
Dude the red wires lead to the black and you need to turn it to other way to the left then try if it don't work then you will have to s no it back for repair damage only be like $10 to $30 dollars quiet cheep
WE HAVE THAT BUT NOT THE STRING
yeah, the IC and servo are busted
it split betwen the 3rd funnel and the 4th funnel
fun fact : titanic sunk off the coast of newfoundland
sorry for your ship i hope it gets better but now i know not to sink rc ships
it is a knockoff .I had the same experience with a brigamo Bismarck battleship .The real one on the photos looked fantastic with high amount of detail .My one is a grey pice of trash .But you can make them showroom quality with some paint
