Are you as excited as us for the next adventures?! - This is our go to booking site for trains and buses etc, great selection of providers as well: geni.us/eurotravel
Second time you have been "just down the street" from me, only a week in the past, again.... 😕 Okay, so you are back now. Question is, did you go see Donald Trump, Queen Elizabeth, Theresa May today? If not, you could have done. They were here, this afternoon. Also, big fireworks Saturday, if you are interested.....
Super excited to see the cruise and your formal clothes... I feel like no travelers traveling with formal clothes so luckily you know about before and get ready for it! 😊 safe travels!
Ooh wow. You guys are so blessed. I know I comment alot but your channel has got everything I was looking for in a travel channel. The calmness, humility and flow
Hate to break it to you but everything you said you liked about first class (minus the leg room) you get in standard for a fraction of the price. Also seat reservations on trains in the UK are free!
That didnt appear to be true with seat reservation, you cant even reserve seats on first class with these trains - even the local Londoners that came down weren't able to. We only paid £15 each to go down anyway.
We have used this train from Southampton to Waterloo after a couple of cruises. The biggest problem is where to put large suitcases. We were lucky that the train wasn't full, so we could put them on a spare seat. We will use National Express bus next time for this reason
Looking forward to the series. FYI I was just in London last month, and tip, if you are there on a Sunday I highly recommend Brick Lane Market if you haven't been. It's huge, full of food vendors and interesting stuff. Dan
Cheers Dan - we've explored around that area on a food tour a year or so ago (have a video on it somewhere), cool area huh?! So interesting and random around there
Yay you've cracked 90k subscribers! Southampton (for us Brits anyway) had to mean something to do with ships/cruises etc. My first memory of it was sailing on the ferry to Le Have in France back in 1966 - my first ever trip outside of the UK. Think you're going to love the cruise - my son plays drums in cruise ship bands and he says it's a pretty awesome experience on board!
We definitely expected you, and other Brits, to click instantly when we said Southampton! 1966, damn, that must have been quite the journey back then - hope you vlogged it 🤣
@@DaneAndStacey ha ha only 35mm in those days! We had a seriously rough crossing on the way back and my Mom was so poorly that I had to navigate us home from Southampton. I was only 11 so it was quite a task but I managed it 😁
Love watching you guys make your way around our home country! We are currently travelling around South East Asia and seeing mini cheddars / M&S makes us very jealous! We are from Eastbourne which is a short drive from Southampton. Enjoy your travels on the cruise!
My favourite travellers are glaming it up. From Backpacking on a budget to the Caribbean and now a cruise. Enjoy!! Look forward to the vid. I did a solo cruise a few years ago on Costa Cruise , was a bit bizarre having set meal times and an allocated table with random strangers, all couples. I avoided the formal nights, not my thing. Don't think I'd do a cruise again...Maybe down the Nile. Hope you guys make it up to Scotland soon, come visit us in Glasgow.
Haha yeah formal clothes is glaming it up for us, though to be fair, don't think we've ever actually stayed in full blown back packers since we started filming. The odd tactical bunk bed has come in handy though in the PH and Athens! Can see why you'd avoid the formal nights, theyre fun and all, but if you're solo theres so many good bars and food joints why put yourself through it!
Well I love the Air B n B's you guys book. The cruise was all inclusive Inc cocktails and Prosecco so just got drunk and went to the casino, won €140 on Roulette, didn't even know what I was doing 😂 Easiest money I've ever made. Take your winnings and walk away. Hope you guys have fun.
Daneger and Stacey awesome! If you’re in the Shoreditch area, make sure you guys head to this street food and drinks place called Dinerama - such an great spot for casual drinks and dining! Enjoy 🤙
I’ve devoured your latest NZ series as I love your country having been twice now. Mind you, I’m soooo excited to watch your Southampton blog as I live about an hour away so you’re in my world! We also cruise a lot so as soon as you said Southampton I guessed what you were up to!
Always interesting to see what travellers choose to do in your own country. Been hearing a lot of bad things about cruises in the Med recently, contributing to overtourism, including the run away cruise ship in Venice a couple of days ago
We saw a video of that as well, apparently a line snapped from the tug and the ship just cruised on into the dock! Crazy stuff. Will be sharing as much cruise stuff as we can soon :)
Suburban traines around London are great!! Coming from Munich, I visited friends in Brighton and Bexley and went to London by SouthEasterner, and I was so happy with the comfortable, reliable trains there. Compared to Munich, I am so envious.
I used to live in Bournemouth for 6 years and I only know the southampton airport. I've never been to Southampton city. However, you guys really took me to there....
The suitcase Stacey is wheeling through the train station, is that your "1" checked suitcase that you use? It looks hugh!! you must have a problem checking that on smaller airplanes. I have a large suitcase I can't use anymore because the sizes have been reduced since 9/11.
That's my local neck of the woods. Glad you didn't travel at rush hour on the train. Otherwise it would have been a lot busier and probably standing. Even in 1st class.
I don't pack for "fancy" on my travels either... The one time I did (for orchestral music night in Vienna) was heavy & painful... (2 nights use in 4 weeks)...
Hey guys, if you are still there and you have some time, check out Portsmouth (best in the evening).. It's not far from Southampton and I think you are gonna like it 👍 have a great time
I was watching another video about getting the train from London to Southampton and they advised not to use the train if you have luggage as there were lots of steps and no escalators or elevators. How did you manage with your luggage? Thanks
It wasn't really a concern for us, but we travel often so we're used to stairs and lifting on/in to places when needed. Don't over think it, it's all good
Daneger and Stacey Oh yes they are the best! Hopefully if you guys ever head to Japan you’ll take advantage of their amazing train system. I think you’ll be blown away especially by the bullet train 🤩
The minute you mentioned Southampton, I knew it was a cruise. Pompey (Portsmouth) girl here. I don’t think people go to Southampton for much else 😉 (I’m joking!). Have a great time! 💕
If you’re heading north of England anywhere towards wales or Shropshire make sure you let me know! Would love to meet for a drink and show you some real UK HACKS! Try find a Lidl or Aldi for food and snacks!!! So good and cheap!!!!!!
With total respect to you guys, it always amazes me how interesting you can make the mundane. And I mean this in the Best way possible. We feel like you're taking us with you and it's compelling :) And yes, we got caught off guard about the cruise. This new series should be great fun! Really look forward to it. Haha we changed the title a few days back to help with SEO and actually forgot that we ‘slow revealed’ in the video. Face palm. Might need a rethink 😂😂
Daneger and Stacey I wouldn’t bother my friend, it’s only because I’m watching your vlogs backwards, only just discovered your channel and subscribed. Stay safe out there, wherever there is 👍🏻

@@DaneAndStacey Right now, the ship you were on is approaching Stockholm.
We missed all of them, including the fireworks, sadly! Sometimes we have the best timing, others we seem to just miss everything!
Safe travels guys! Looking forward to seeing where you go on this cruise! 😄
Thanks team! Lots of cruise stuff to come
Soooo excited to see what the big news is!!!
The suspense must be killing you guys 🤣
I watched this out of order so I'll just say cheeky! 😉

How much was your Waterloo to Southampton Central train tickets?
