I really enjoyed looking at the monitor today. It explains what you are doing much better. Keep up the good work. Your on your way to be a big channel. Not many farmers of your size make such high quality videos on UA-cam.
Good afternoon Mike. Sucks to get rained out but you cant complain about moisture. Just saw a "rich farmers" comment. Could you do a video on the financials of farming per acre for all inputs including crop insurance and cost of drying if needed vs market prices? Also include yield and quality losses equated to weather, fungus, infestation, weeds and how it impacts grade and profits. I think it would open a lot of peoples eyes on how much of a financial risk farmers take to grow food for the world. The 9-5ers today are quite disconnected.
Mike you forgot to mention that with our good ol’ southern sask soil, it tends to stick to the air cart tires and will pull up your seed/disturb your seed bed in the rain.
Hello Mike! I'm sticking with you since you've had like 2 or 3k subscribers. I grew up around big machines, but here in Europe, farming was a little different. I don't like to comment so much, but I'm going to drop a comment on every 10k subs from now on! So, don't forget me when you hit that 1M!
Nice rain!! 👍☔ Would still like to hear a talk on the planning of seeding, like the sequence you choose to plant certain crops and how it plays into harvest strategy.
Thx for sharing your experience, help to have better understanding of actual farming. And it’s interesting to see big setup run because in France it’s kinda rare.
Wow, raining where you are and not here in northeast Ohio. That's a switch. Enjoy some down time. You need it. Don't forget we want to here about Johnny vs O'l Red.
Your talk regarding the tillage is interesting, here we look at it as disturbing the weed seed bank to encourage them to germinate before we go through with chemical. But we are also conventional tillage for the most part and our ground here in Ontario is a lot tougher than yours, it won't blow away like Saskatchewan soil can. One of the things I love about UA-cam farming vids is getting to see how differently shit gets done across the country
Another good video mike. Shame it rained. But hope you get a bit more rest until it drys up again. Be nice if you could do anther farm tour video of your farm, Love to see your farm. Hope you will have a good rest of the weekend mike.
is there ever a worry about people vandalizing or steeling stuff out off or of off your tractors, leaving them in the field. we had someone last week steel 3 star fire JD GPS boxes of the cabs of our tractors last week and they were parked in the yard
MIKE , get the weather app for your phone called Radar Scope. Its a weather app that shows you every different type of radar you can think of . It will make those weather decisions like should i run for the truck or is that a tornado seem easy !
I think that weather app is the best 9$ a man could spend! Especially if the weather impacts what you do in your day to day business. Keep up the great content, watching your videos after a long day is great RnR !
If travel restrictions are eased because of an improvement in the COVID 19 situation I have an interesting suggestion for Ashtyn’s Bridal Shower. Contact Mitch ( Marketing Manager ) for North America for Steiger Tractors to arrange for the gals to go to the Case IH testing ground in Arizona. Ashtyn could then drive the Case IH Steiger Quad Track AFS Connect 620 that can peak up to 682 HP. That would be something that Ashtyn would NEVER FORGET. The Welkers drove over 2,000 HP of “Red Paint” in one day.
Thats something good men, you can explain very good for us guys from the other side of the big lake. Not much people knows much about the big seedrigs u use overthere so...ja - danke
I'm a green guy myself, but those quadtracs are the one machine in the red paint color I would take over a deere. I'd just have to wear something to block the noise!!!
I cant believe that air seeders and planters haven"t come up with a single point hookup for the hydraulics like combines, to make it easier and always hooked up correctly. I plant with a DB 90 36 row planter with 6 scv and 2 power beyonds and 2 zero pressure returns. I use one tractor for digging and planting, so I don't have to have two tractors. I have it down to unhook and rehooked back up in 30 minutes most of the time.
Hard work. Respect Mike and the crew. I grew up on a farm, many years ago, during communism, in România. Working the land has drastically changed but it is still hard work.
your not kidding, i live in what should be one of the wettest bits of the uk and weve not had more than an hour or twos rain here and their in 2-3months!
Mike, just curious what's in your equipment graveyard at the home site...what did you/your family run before 4-wheel articulated, besides the 4840's? thanks, Jim
Mike have you ever thought about trying a sprayer that has that has WEED IT on it on something similar or mabey putting in on your sprayers. And i can't belive we actually used to seed without sectional controll it would be like running without autotrac. We had 4 inches and 2 tenths!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike i tell u what will sort your moisture out in the seed tubes, dbs ausplow made in Western Australia us a oil cooler which cools the oil at the same time it heats the air the fan blows keeping it dry so u can keep seeding.....just fyi
I'm not surprise about your plants growing up after your pass whit the protill, but i see in a last video about the seeding machine that a lot of soil is moving. It's not making grow up the weeds like the protill? And what are you thinking about cover crops?
Good video, Bourgault makes the best stuff wow ! What is your reason for Tow behind cart ? What is better in your opinion ? Tow behind or Tow between? What is your reason for not going with liquid Fertilizer ?
Dude - when you keep the crazy laughs and whack comments to a minimum - this channel is outstanding - huge fields - huge equipment - amazing explanations - perfect👍👍👍👍👍
Haha that's the sad truth right there...🤦♂️ It's all real boys, I might 7 different laughs as Ashtyn would say, but I can guarantee you nothing is fake... I don't fake anything.. Slightly exaggerated at times yes, incredibly sarcastic also yes, but not fake..
Heya going there Mike, do your fans have oil coolers in front on them ? I have one set up on my air drill helps keep the hydraulic oil cool plus I don't get affected by wet weather.....until I slide off a hill and break shit but sometimes it helps long enough to get a few more hectares done. Cheers
I just about died laughing when you said "you were down in the southwest!!!!" So when winter starts getting a little to long and you need go south, what do you do, head to Toronto for sunshine?
I really enjoyed looking at the monitor today. It explains what you are doing much better. Keep up the good work. Your on your way to be a big channel. Not many farmers of your size make such high quality videos on UA-cam.
Thanks Ned!
One of the best videos so far Mike!
Brilliant demonstration of why you avoid tillage and section control. Absolutely amazing job.
Thank y'all for filming your operation. It's a inspiration to us farmers here in South Louisiana. Thank you for being a patriot
The whole seeding operation is fascinating, thank you for taking the time to explain 👍👍
Happy Saturday Mike... Hands you an umbrella.. Nothing like the smell of fresh damp earth... Snifffff..
Thank you for the ride along ❤️ ❤️
These are such family friendly videos I think they should start showing them in schools. Good humour and good lessons!
Haha thanks Dan!
That would actually teach kis something worth knowing. And that's just wrong
Lol we have a case 9380 still has the original radio and one speaker if you can deal with static it's golden

Another interesting topic to talk about.
Don’t worry about the lightning. You’re not grounded that much with a 84’ drill in the ground. Lol 😂⚡️⚡️
Beautifull rain. wish we could get a little bit, but great to see south west get some.really nice area.
Best of luck with the weather! No mater how big or small. We all deal with this!! Thanks, great video Mike 👍
Mike, love your. Ideas and the narrative of s fantastic. Just like being in the cab.
Mike you forgot to mention that with our good ol’ southern sask soil, it tends to stick to the air cart tires and will pull up your seed/disturb your seed bed in the rain.
Right Mike no jumping on grain bins when it pours like that 👌 remember safety first 😂
Haha always! 😉
Love your videos and enthusiasm, officially living the dream. Much love from New Zealand
I like your commentary Mike. It is very interesting. I enjoy you sharing your knowledge. Like your humor too.
That planter is pretty magnificent kit though.. Thanks for letting us in the cab!

Thanks Mike, fascinating.
Good point about tillage bringing up weed seeds 👍 - Doug in Iowa
This channel is gold
Thanks!
Time for work in the shop tell ground drys out.. have a good one buddy and take care.
Mike, a song comes to mind: I'm seeding in the rain. :)
Thx for sharing your experience, help to have better understanding of actual farming. And it’s interesting to see big setup run because in France it’s kinda rare.
Great awesome video mike , mud mud mud but we need the rain , pushing the limits of seeder is the best .
Tks for the ride along.
I love it Mike doesn't care if it is a rainbow-colored tractor he just wants it to pull.
Hey Mike... If you plan in the dust your bins will bust... 🤣🤣 Gotta love old sayings. Glad to see it rain though.
Waoo that's absolutely amazing watching thousands of miles away from you
Another awesome video Mike!!!!
If your off planting for a couple days Mike, you should do an updated farm tour and show us around a bit more. Love the videos!!
I think it's going to be catch up on sleep and plan a wedding 😂
@@mikemitchell2554 Good call..😴💑🥂
@@mikemitchell2554 Congratulations. You will get a very good wife.
Fair enough, better enjoy your break while you can.😂😂😂

I'd be interested in this as well.
I’d be interested too
First trees I’ve seen since I started watching you
Wow, raining where you are and not here in northeast Ohio. That's a switch. Enjoy some down time. You need it. Don't forget we want to here about Johnny vs O'l Red.

Awesome vid Mike as always.

Right on Brother Mike.
We know what it's like to love a rain in the uk this spring.
is there ever a worry about people vandalizing or steeling stuff out off or of off your tractors, leaving them in the field. we had someone last week steel 3 star fire JD GPS boxes of the cabs of our tractors last week and they were parked in the yard
Happens a lot here in Netherlands
Question, how in the world did they plant 20 years ago. Those guy did a tremendous job farming.

Good to see the rain mike
We need some here
Your just special 🤗
600 acre fields. This is big boy farming at its best. 😁👌 loving the videos.
Paul Brann They have a 5500 acre field.
In Australia some paddocks are 25000 acres and they have 215 foot air seeders .
5500 acre field = 8.5 miles square 😲
Wow 😮 that’s crazy. 100 acre fields over here in England are a good size.
Good peoples love the rain. Even if it pours that shouldn't scare you.
Send some rain to Europe, please.
your not kidding, i live in what should be one of the wettest bits of the uk and weve not had more than an hour or twos rain here and their in 2-3months!
We’re irrigating potatoes in Scotland and they’re barely through the ground. Only had about an inch of rain in the past 2 months
Your right, north east England is droughting off,
Your right we can use a couple of 20mm in the Netherlands . But not to much at once like last fall. 🙃
@@ytfan3815 in the part of the netherland that i live the sugarbeets are doing horrible, only half of the field is Coming up
Love your videos Mike. Keep up the good work!!!
If that’s the same front coming in that we had west of Medicine Hat here you guys are in for a good couple of days of rain
I'm seeeedin' in the rain, just seedin' in the rain
I think no rain water drain system over there!?
Nice video! Heavy field

Haha thanks!
We put oil coolers in front of our fans dries the air coming in and gives a bit bigger window
That's good idea!
If you want suppliers name just ask. We had them on our jd drills and have them on our seed hawks
What the heck is rain?? Dont center pivots water crops? Maybe just in central Washington state. Haha Love your channel Mike!

So after being in that case quad track, would you go back to John deeres quad track?
Its been raining in the Ohio valley all spring, can't get anything planted, we had 5 inches this week
Here in Holland ,we would kill for some rain.
Here in Groningen we just had some😎
You need a sleeper cab on your tractor.
great work bro
That would be a serious amount of hoseage or tubeage to unplug. Hope you had your trusty dewalt with ya
Hey Mike greetings from Ontario your videos are awesome😀 how come you don't run big articulated tractors with triples?💪
It's been fun but you're done for the day Mike. Off to the race's, bed race's.
Gotta be careful out there in the flat lands with lightening.
Talks about how hard it's raining.
Rolls the window down.
Haha 😂 🤷♂️, I just wanted some fresh air I guess
Interesting with CaseIH 620 horse power compared to JD, is FPT toque is lower in rev range to JD Cummins?
Have you tried 4 tracked New Holland T9's?
