Hey guys! Its been a while but I m happy to bring you all this vlog on the beautiful Lunuganga estate. I have a huge love for history and architecture so this property has been a place I’ve been wanting to visit since I was a teenager and I was soo excited to finally be there! I hope you guy love it as much as I did.
Should I cover more Historical and Architectural sites like this? 😃
Hey Sheneller! We would love to see more content about architectural sites, would you be able go in depth about Lanka's history about handicrafts and ceramics too if you could? I would love to learn more about that and our history of artistry. Thank youu
Yess we totally plan on doing that!
Yes,yes, yes & yes.
Of course you should..We don't have much content in English on our history and architecture yet..
Sure, We'd love those. Please go ahead! Wish you all the best!
I'm a retired Architect from Australia. Many years ago I met Geoffrey Bawa in Sydney. He was commissioned to design a Hotel to be built in Fiji for a company I worked for. He was a true gentleman and a brilliant Architect. I stayed at Lunuganga in 2016. My partner and I visited as many of his works as we could whilst touring lovely Sri Lanka.
What a lovely memory, I always believe you meet people for a reason.
Welcome again Sir..!!
very happy hear that. I am an Architect living in Australia. I inspired my Architecture by Bawa style. He was our external lecturer. Lucky to had talk with him. He was humble person like his designs.
❤❤
I have lost count of the times I have watched this video. Every time it gives me goosebumps. It is like the BBC series, "Through the Key Hole", if not better. Credit goes to person behind the camera, the editor & the BGM. A vlog of international standard. Hats 👒 off.
This comment gives us goosebumps Anthony! Many thanks! 🤩🤩
All our productions to date are filmed and produced entirely between my fiancé Shehaan & I so seeing a message like this really does warm our hearts!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@Sheneller I do know that it is filmed by your fiancé. Unfortunately I didn't know his name. That's why I didn't mention it.
We're going to be traveling from Mumbai to Sti Lanka this Diwali, and no matter how much we tried cramming into our Itinerary, we always end up finding more treasures to discover Sri Lanka more.
This resplendent video gives us another opportunity to expand our Itinerary to soak in this beautiful and culture rich part of Sri Lanka that we will surely hold dear to our hearts for years to come. Thank you, thank you 😊
The best architect ever in Sri Lanka. I have visited almost all the hotels in Sri Lanka which has done by him. Such a great personality. Thank you for showing these.

You captured the essence of the estate with your cinematography and Channa’s illustration. I feel like I was there. Loved it 😍

Absolutely amazing content! Every single shot was cinematic and caught my entire attention! Keep up the great work!
I am Bawa minded in heart and have always loved his work. It is my dream to one day have a property of this nature in Sri Lanka, of course in a a very scaled down version. Frangipani trees, courtyards, rain pattering on the gravels, tropical foliage, all.
Love the beautiful cinematography and composition of this video. Excellent work!
Wow this is awesome ❤️ thanks Sheneller and Shehan sharing this amazing location ✌️
Every little second is tremendously awesome . Shenella and Sheahan you are amazing. Love it .thanks much . Don Sherman

Thank you for this lovely video! Last year in September I visited Bevis Bawa’s house Brief and stayed in Geoffrey Bawa’s hotel in Colombo - on your recommendation. Next time I will have to visit Lunuganga. 😊
I've always been a big fan of Geoffrey Bawa's work and serene places like Lunuganga Estate. The most appealing element of this vlog to me is your presentation of it Sheneller. It was just right! You blended in like sugar and tea and brought in an authentic Sri Lankan vibe the same way Geoffery did with his master pieces. Thank you for making us experience the feel of this museum through your presentation. Loved it!!
Thanks you so much for your kind words Isuru! it really does encourage us to do more when folks like you appreciate the effort put into these videos :)
I bear no malice towards this lady who narrates the story in this nice video but I would like to say that in the latter part of it she looks like a pretty fairy in that housecoat/bathrobe (whatever, you call it) in a haunted house. You and your team have done a splendid job. Good Luck to all of you!
It’s not only you do not bear malice towards the lady but for sure you want to admire her ! 😊Yes ,she deserves admiration .
Excellent video. It seems more like a documentary!! Well presented, by this knowledgeable young lady!!
I love how you explained every single detail of bawa. plus your robe is beautiful

This is your best presentation. Loved this video.
Thanks a lot! We think so too!
Well captured as I myself have had the opportunity to visit and spend the day on an invite by Chandana ( Thank you! ) to a mutual friend! 🙏🏼 With my travel it is one of the still most unique ever experienced! Just the landscaping and the Bawa ‘ s unique architecture !!! Heard also a place which enchanted Prince Charles and he too fell in love 😍 with the place ! 🥰
Thanks for letting us to see exemplary art of Bawa. unbelievable creativity coupled with higher mental wellbeing.
So beautiful!!
I watched with tears in my eyes.
Good to know the good secrets of Sri Lanka.
I'm an architect and we have studied many of Bawa's work as students and still we learn something new if we visit them again. The beauty of it, is how his work immerse in to the context and the landscape. Even decaying components and materials, slowly consumed by moss and foliage and being exposed to heavy rains and the scorching sun and dust and insects for ages, have a subtle beauty of its own. The most important thing is that no matter how much people want something alien to the land designed and built somewhere, nothing ages gracefully and stand the test of time like something that relates to the natural context so closely. Thank you for the fantastic video.
Our pleasure!! Thanks a lot for sharing that insight! So very true!
A brilliant video...!
Thanks a lot!!
Really useful program ...thank you

Stunning home. Does so much justice to home connecting with nature.
Remembering 1979 canoe ride at Bentota…a local boy took us to his home where we enjoyed wonderful tea with his father…gracious, lovely villagers of Sri Lanka❤❤❤❤❤❤
Have been a fan of Geoffrey Bawa since the 90's after I stayed in one of his hotels in Beruwela the Neptune Hotel.
