I am visiting Sri Lanka later this year and was searching youtube and came across your beautiful tribute to the work of Geoffrey Bawa. I had not heard of him but will now be visiting at least two of the properties he designed. I love the way he integrates nature and the peace filled vibe of his work
Geoffrey Bawa is one of those architects I've been fascinated with since I was young. His designs exhibit a captivating minimalism and seamless integration with nature, which I find truly remarkable.
We did a Geoffry Bawa architectural tour in 2018, his sense of scale, design, and materials is timeless, I thought we saw a lot of work, but looking at this presentation realized we missed a lot of his work too, Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work. Kudos!
Story of exploration, finding ones passion and the pursuit of beauty....what a powerful sentence and it completely resonates with where I am currently in life. Blessings from Ireland 🇮🇪
Imesely sesetive, thoughtful & responsive creations.....Bawa showed that Architecture is not only a profession, its also a way of life.Very much Inspiring...My deepest respect.
What a beautiful tribute to such an amazing architect. Have visited his works but am happy to learn more about my hero. His works echoed sustainability and eco friendly practices when people were not aware of these concepts. Thanks for this wonderful compilation.
Hugely inspiring. Thank you. I found lots of ideas to help me with courtyard spaces for house designs. Bawa has both intimacy and grandness in his works.
YUP.......got a book on his works.....so a clip or two only adds to my understanding his design concept of Tropical Modernism w/c is my other Style...Luv it!...RIP GB.
@@blessedarch If you could do a video about properties developed by famous architects..like the jeffery bawa s plantation home where normal people go ,stay and explore…it would be very interesting.
It’s a heart wrenching narrative of the life and career of the legendary Bawa. He is surely an inspiration with his prolific career and life💚✨👌 Thanks for doing this video on him🤍
@@luckyme0888 The restrictions of a gay man to express himself freely while being the prolific architect himself and the decades later adoration to his ways of life seems heart wrenching to me. It’s such a nice and classy video though 💚✨👌
@@ar.anandsomarajanjayashree3749 being gay was just one aspect of his experience and existence. In such a superb video with stunning pictures of his actual work with mesmerizing beauty you just focused on his sexuality. That's a bit strange to me. There are lots of gays but only a handful of Geoffreys in this world. His work matters more.
@@luckyme0888 Please read the comment I wrote again. I loved this video to the core and also that personal aspect of his life being celebrated today. Please don’t misunderstand my motives. I loved the video and it was such a amazing narrative. I adore it completely. It’s hurtful when you see just meanings I never imagined between my words!!
i have visited kandalama hotel, university of ruhuna, sri lanka parliament and lunuganga resort. it was very beautiful and amazing especially kandalama hotel.some thought elephants wont come near to kandalama hotel after the construction.but suprisingly elephants came.proud of beauty of this amazing island which choosed many great characters like jefry bawa, ather c clerk to live their life.
U missed to mention Ar anjalendran who was his junior and continued his path ..and artist Laki who played a major role in his architecture...on the whole it was wonderful to listen to you....
He should win the prestigious Driehaus Prize (Although most people would suggest the Pritzker Prize but for me Driehaus suits him best as his works follow the traditional styles and the Pritzker is just too modern for him) I hope he will be awarded next year. He should receive it posthumously. He will be the second Asian to win the award after Thailand's Satrabandhu
Beautiful account on the life of Geoffrey Bawa, undoubtedly the most celebrated Sri Lankan architect. However your emphasis on LGBT is an overkill without givng due understanding. While from a Western perspective it might be a plain right which I respect, you cannot necessarily look at it from the same lens when cultures are steeped in history spanning over 2 millenia.
Of couse, Jeoffrey Bawas's work was most amaizing, the documentary you have made is excellent. Let me know how I can get associated with your channel and promote it apart from subscirbing.
Hello sir. I'm an architecture graduate and I want to work with you. Can you please let me know if there are any openings for someone with drafting, photo editing and model making skills? I'm a pretty decent writer as well. I love analyzing buildings and interiors! I'd love to work with your team! Hope this message reaches you!
Thanks for another great video on another great architect. Now I would like to request you again, can you make a video on works of Christopher Alexander... I have already requested many times but no response from you. Please let me know even if you are not interested in his work and you don't want to make a video on him. So i that i can rest in peace. Btw I am currently reading his book on Timeless Way of Building.
Hey I am glad you like the video. And surely I will make a video on Christopher too, however there are a few more in my list that I will be creating before that. The video will surely come but closer to the end of this year perhaps.
Hi Rishabh, congratulations nice work! ...I think architecture is about beauty....and Baw a truly did justice...no doubt..in this channel you could dedicate way more to this wonderful artist .....in several parts..good luck with the channel!
The market and the Fed consistently underestimate the sticky nature of inflation. The markets are still unsure if the Federal Reserve will continue to its plan to raise interest rates until inflation is under control, despite the fact that bond yields are rising while stock prices are falling. What is the greatest strategy to take advantage of the current bear market while I'm still deciding whether to sell my $401k worth of stocks?
I completely agree. I have been consistent with my profit regardless of the market conditions. I got into the market early in 2019 and the constant downtrends and losses discouraged me, so I sold off. I got back in December 2020 and this time with guidance from an investment adviser who was recommended by a popular economist on a popular forum. Long story short, it's been years now and l've gained over $850k following guidance from my investment advisor.
My advisor is ‘’Jackson Sten Marsh, a renowned figure in he line of work. I recommend researching his credentials further. he has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
Thank you for this tip. it was easy to find your coach. Did my due diligence on him before scheduling a phone call with him. he seems proficient considering him résumé.
Coorection he took admission in St Catherine’S college at at 1938 and not 1983. Apologies for the confusion
I noticed that too

Geoffrey Bawa's grave is his ultimate design. Remarkably powerful, I found myself rather unexpectedly moved by it, to the point of tears.
