Why didn't she use her eyes on Cinder at the end of V8, after easily using them on her in all three previous encounters? Plot! Why didn't Penny use her Lasers (or any maiden equivalent) to take down Cinder in 2 out of the 3 encounters with her. Why didn't Weiss use her semblance to save a falling Yang? Why didn't Yang shot Neo instead of throwing her body at her? How was Cinder able to easily knock Neo off a ledge? For that matter, how was a farmboy able to sucker punch Neo. Plot, power scaling, and just plain crappy writing.
To paraphrase Vol 2 Weiss: Huntress is a job. One they all signed up for. Being a Huntress is not some grand calling, making them chosen by God. It is a job set up by Ozpin to curb the Grimm population and maybe serve as some form of counter to Salem. Yeah, I'm glad I stopped watching RWBY mid Vol 6. If RvB was RT's Halo fanfiction, RWBY is their first original story and IT SHOWS from how fanfic-y it is (in a bad way, as there have been fanfictions written better than the show), especially given how it rips off the surface details of other stories and none of their heart. Even listening to your recap made me groan from the many issues with this volumes, as if hearing bits and pieces from other videos didn't make me do that before.

The Smoke Screen was my favorite, which could have been so much better. The major problem with it however, is HOW Weiss, Blake and Yang goes over it so quickly. It clearly shows, how much their arcs were casted into the wind to create a new one for them... But here is how I would have made them better. Weiss: She would be utterly belittled, mocked and insulted on how she gave up on Atlas, Mantle and everything she has swore on to protect. Remember her speech to her father in V4? She swore that she will protect the citizens as an Heiress and Huntress. But when our Weiss would point out how her father revoked her status and gave her a new purpose, V1 Weiss would still mock on the fact, that V9 Weiss has turned on the man, she had considered her father figure. Ironwood. When V9 Weiss tries to argue that they all came up with the idea, V1 Weiss offers her the reset. That she could be the leader of her own team. Just as she wished for it in V1. Blake: V1 Blake would share most of the ideals that Adam had. That humans are cruel and selfish and they would only care about themselves. V9 Blake literally states, that she had earned her people's freedom, which would be a complete lie. True. She united the Faunus in V4-5, but conflicts shouldn't go away so easily with humans. And then the gutpunching part. V1 Blake would ask V9 Blake about her growning love for Yang. It is suttle? Or it is a lie? When V9 Blake is in the pause, V1 Blake reminds her, that she had feelings for a fellow Faunus, namely Sun. And she would just "discard" them for a human? She offers the reset for her, that she could leave her team. Be with the Faunus to fight for their own rights. To earn their true freedom. Yang: V1 Yang would utterly destroy her for neglecting her sister and point out, how she had failed Ruby. When V9 Yang tries to argue, that she never had abandonned Ruby, V1 Yang laughs and claims, is that what she said to her own mother too? Yes. V1 Yang would share the same mother energy she had been missing. When V9 Yang is trying to argue her case again, that she cares about Ruby, because she is her sister, V1 Yang shakes her head and states the obvious fact: That she switched those feelings for Blake and she has to make a choice through the reset she offers. To continue to pursue the answers she wanted from Raven and to protect Ruby, like the big sister she was supposed to be.
No need to worry. Thanks in part to RWBY's stellar writing, RT is broke, V10 is not greenlit. And the show may not move forward as an animated show under RT.

Received it in an a mail because RT has kept me on their mailing list for some reason, despite my cancelling my First Subscription after V7. Among the other issues he admitted the company was having, he revealed that RT is basically hard up for money. They admitted they get zilch from WBD. They were cutting back on somethings, including cancelling RTX 2024. They are basically begging for support from fans via subs or else other shows like RvB and Camp Camp won't be back in the spring. As for RWBY. Barely a couple sentences mention in what was a lengthy announcement newsletter. And the Only thing mentioned was how RWBY gave the company a good start in its early years. Nothing more. Nothing said about RWBY's future, or a V10 green light. As for my saying "the show may not move forward as an animated show under RT.", that is an opinion based on available information like this newsletter. Plus the fact that we are well into January with nothing said. RWBY is (was) their largest IP and was their biggest revenue generator. To not say a word about it's status or future in such a major announcement is........ telling. My opinion was also meant to imply that RWBY could be picked up by another production company. Or if RT holds on to it for the time being, turn it into a comic or novel to continue the story. Much less expensive to produce. On bumblebee ,i hate how the writers make their character act like it was always going to happen. No weiss you didn't know or cared about if blake and yang got to together. You looked more annoyed by it in volume 7. It's even worse when jaune of all people say it ,no jaune you did gave two shits about. So why are you saying it? you barely acknowledge ren and nora but blake and yang that's what you comment on. And while using Alice in wonderland isn't an inherently bad idea. But writers seem to barely do much with it. It seem more like they were running out of time and stitch this up last minute and by look of there production it may of been that. Them being high on leaves should of show how them being maliciously berated by there volume 1 counter part tell each of them how they haven't really changed all that much. Them having no real answer if they are good huntress Ruby seem to be the only who need a few fixes since it really is a good scene.
The reason for all the active positive reinforcement of BB by other characters, especially about its duration, is because the writers still have a chip on their shoulder over much of the fandom Not being on board with how the ship was handled. Not to mention the lingering fans with BlackSunn head canons. For CRWBY's favorite fans, the toxic BB shippers, it's an itch that has been nagging them for a long time. One they still haven't been able to fully scratch. CRWBY tries very hard to keep them happy. If the show ever continued to V10, look for even more positive reinforcement of BB. This time instead of Jaune, it will be from none other than Sunn. CRWBY's final attemp to put a hard stop on any BlackSunn head canons, or BB critics still floating around.
Okay, I will admit, I did let my frustration over Jaune get the better of me at the end, and I was partially over exaggerating for dramatic/comedic effect. I don’t hate Jaune in concept, or even much in execution. I don’t even hate the idea that Jaune occasionally gets more screen time than Team RWBY. I’m a show with as large a cast as RWBY’s, it makes sense that other characters would get attention. What I dislike is how much screen time and development he’s gotten in comparison to Team RWBY, to the point where it feels like he’s overshadowing them in narrative importance. Over the course of the story, Jaune has gotten to experience genuine character growth and has taken the spotlight for some very significant emotional beats (Look no further than him fighting Cinder in V5 or him killing Penny in V8). By comparison, Team RWBY has been rather stagnant in terms of character development. If Team RWBY were all as well developed as Jaune, I wouldn’t blink twice over him being so well developed. But the fact that none of Team RWBY have even half the development he has is frustrating to me. And it gets even worse when you throw in the rest of Team JNPR into the equation, because Ren, Nora, and Pyrrha also don’t have anywhere near the development that their leader does. Again, in isolation, Jaune is perfectly fine as a character. But in context with the character writing of the rest of Team RWBY & JNPR, it feels like the writers are prioritizing Jaune over everyone else, and that’s what irritates me

In ANY other series, be it an anime, TV show, comic of web series as RWBY started out as it would still be just as egregious that someone starting out as a supporting character but became a main one got so much more personal character development and growth by comparison than the main characters that the series started out about. However, I will have to heavily disagree on the Cinder example in V5. Other than Ruby and arguably Qrow who witnessed Cinder kill Pyrrha atop the tower, who was ONLY THERE because Jaune called them begging for help to save her, not a SINGLE other character there had any personal vendetta against Cinder. Obviously they hate her and want to take her down for what she did, but it wasn't PERSONAL for them like it was for Ruby and Jaune. And in my opinion, despite having witnessed it, Jaune SHOULD'VE been the one to take the spotlight in that moment there because he was by far the most effected by Pyrrhas death. Visibly least, as seen when he's actively sleeping less to train himself and become stronger so he could protect his friends in the future. He's even so enraged by her when they meet again and what she says that he outright tries to kill her, but is obviously BY FAR outclassed and would never come close. Even though Ruby didn't jump in like he did, you'd have expected some kind of more intense or pained reaction from her than everybody else(unless I'm misremembering, in which case my apologies for the false claim). So while Cinder is most definitely a main villain for the whole cast to deal with, he has the most personal reason to want her dealt with(imo at least). I do agree on that Penny one though, I hated that moment SO MUCH when I'd heard about it and still hate it. Regardless of him taking any spotlight or character development from other characters, there is absolutely NO WAY in hell that he couldn't have healed her with his Semblance. You're(not you specifically, just generally) not convincing me that Penny injuries were any worse than Weiss literally being impaled through the stomach, it's just not gonna happen. And even if it wouldn't have fully healed anything, it would've had her stable enough for him to pick her up and run.
I like rwby 1-5. It's not the best written show, but it's an fun time. Admittedly, i refuse to rewatch anything past season 5. Season 6 was where rwby fell apart for me. The only thing post season 5 i enjoy is the watts vs ironwood fight. If they didn't character assassinate ironwood, seasons 7 and 8 could've been the ladder out of rock bottom that season 6 hit, but instead 6 was just the start of the slide that leads to the rock bottom of season 9.

Received it in an a mail because RT has kept me on their mailing list for some reason, despite my cancelling my First Subscription after V7.
Among the other issues he admitted the company was having, he revealed that RT is basically hard up for money. They admitted they get zilch from WBD. They were cutting back on somethings, including cancelling RTX 2024. They are basically begging for support from fans via subs or else other shows like RvB and Camp Camp won't be back in the spring.
As for RWBY. Barely a couple sentences mention in what was a lengthy announcement newsletter.
And the Only thing mentioned was how RWBY gave the company a good start in its early years. Nothing more. Nothing said about RWBY's future, or a V10 green light.
As for my saying "the show may not move forward as an animated show under RT.", that is an opinion based on available information like this newsletter. Plus the fact that we are well into January with nothing said.
RWBY is (was) their largest IP and was their biggest revenue generator. To not say a word about it's status or future in such a major announcement is........ telling.
My opinion was also meant to imply that RWBY could be picked up by another production company. Or if RT holds on to it for the time being, turn it into a comic or novel to continue the story. Much less expensive to produce. Anything but a fully animated and fleshed out show that we are use to seeing.

Now RT going down was inevitable because this was their cash cow. If it isn’t making enough to even continue, it would mean the company would go under next.
Now unless someone purchases the IP.. it won’t be made.

On bumblebee ,i hate how the writers make their character act like it was always going to happen.
No weiss you didn't know or cared about if blake and yang got to together. You looked more annoyed by it in volume 7.
It's even worse when jaune of all people say it ,no jaune you did gave two shits about. So why are you saying it? you barely acknowledge ren and nora but blake and yang that's what you comment on.
And while using Alice in wonderland isn't an inherently bad idea.
But writers seem to barely do much with it. It seem more like they were running out of time and stitch this up last minute and by look of there production it may of been that.
Them being high on leaves should of show how them being maliciously berated by there volume 1 counter part tell each of them how they haven't really changed all that much. Them having no real answer if they are good huntress
Ruby seem to be the only who need a few fixes since it really is a good scene.
The reason for all the active positive reinforcement of BB by other characters, especially about its duration, is because the writers still have a chip on their shoulder over much of the fandom Not being on board with how the ship was handled.
Not to mention the lingering fans with BlackSunn head canons. For CRWBY's favorite fans, the toxic BB shippers, it's an itch that has been nagging them for a long time. One they still haven't been able to fully scratch. CRWBY tries very hard to keep them happy.
If the show ever continued to V10, look for even more positive reinforcement of BB.
This time instead of Jaune, it will be from none other than Sunn. CRWBY's final attemp to put a hard stop on any BlackSunn head canons, or BB critics still floating around.

Bruh its apalling that you cant see that JNPR and Jaune are just as much main characters as RWBY are at this point.
Okay, I will admit, I did let my frustration over Jaune get the better of me at the end, and I was partially over exaggerating for dramatic/comedic effect. I don’t hate Jaune in concept, or even much in execution. I don’t even hate the idea that Jaune occasionally gets more screen time than Team RWBY. I’m a show with as large a cast as RWBY’s, it makes sense that other characters would get attention.
What I dislike is how much screen time and development he’s gotten in comparison to Team RWBY, to the point where it feels like he’s overshadowing them in narrative importance. Over the course of the story, Jaune has gotten to experience genuine character growth and has taken the spotlight for some very significant emotional beats (Look no further than him fighting Cinder in V5 or him killing Penny in V8). By comparison, Team RWBY has been rather stagnant in terms of character development.
If Team RWBY were all as well developed as Jaune, I wouldn’t blink twice over him being so well developed. But the fact that none of Team RWBY have even half the development he has is frustrating to me. And it gets even worse when you throw in the rest of Team JNPR into the equation, because Ren, Nora, and Pyrrha also don’t have anywhere near the development that their leader does.
Again, in isolation, Jaune is perfectly fine as a character. But in context with the character writing of the rest of Team RWBY & JNPR, it feels like the writers are prioritizing Jaune over everyone else, and that’s what irritates me
@@leoncritiques @leoncritiques Yeah that's entirely fair, I 100% agree that it is frustrating that the TITULAR CHARACTERS of the show have gotten much less personal character development in comparison to him.
In ANY other series, be it an anime, TV show, comic of web series as RWBY started out as it would still be just as egregious that someone starting out as a supporting character but became a main one got so much more personal character development and growth by comparison than the main characters that the series started out about.
However, I will have to heavily disagree on the Cinder example in V5. Other than Ruby and arguably Qrow who witnessed Cinder kill Pyrrha atop the tower, who was ONLY THERE because Jaune called them begging for help to save her, not a SINGLE other character there had any personal vendetta against Cinder. Obviously they hate her and want to take her down for what she did, but it wasn't PERSONAL for them like it was for Ruby and Jaune. And in my opinion, despite having witnessed it, Jaune SHOULD'VE been the one to take the spotlight in that moment there because he was by far the most effected by Pyrrhas death. Visibly least, as seen when he's actively sleeping less to train himself and become stronger so he could protect his friends in the future. He's even so enraged by her when they meet again and what she says that he outright tries to kill her, but is obviously BY FAR outclassed and would never come close. Even though Ruby didn't jump in like he did, you'd have expected some kind of more intense or pained reaction from her than everybody else(unless I'm misremembering, in which case my apologies for the false claim). So while Cinder is most definitely a main villain for the whole cast to deal with, he has the most personal reason to want her dealt with(imo at least).
I do agree on that Penny one though, I hated that moment SO MUCH when I'd heard about it and still hate it. Regardless of him taking any spotlight or character development from other characters, there is absolutely NO WAY in hell that he couldn't have healed her with his Semblance. You're(not you specifically, just generally) not convincing me that Penny injuries were any worse than Weiss literally being impaled through the stomach, it's just not gonna happen. And even if it wouldn't have fully healed anything, it would've had her stable enough for him to pick her up and run.
I like rwby 1-5. It's not the best written show, but it's an fun time. Admittedly, i refuse to rewatch anything past season 5. Season 6 was where rwby fell apart for me. The only thing post season 5 i enjoy is the watts vs ironwood fight. If they didn't character assassinate ironwood, seasons 7 and 8 could've been the ladder out of rock bottom that season 6 hit, but instead 6 was just the start of the slide that leads to the rock bottom of season 9.
Volume 9 is filler and as we all know filler is not canon!!😂

Nah he's all right. RWBY is garbage anyways 😂. People ride Monty Oum WAAAY too much. Yeah sure he has made good animations but RWBY was honestly going to fail simply because you LITERALLY can't survive off ONLY good fights! You need good lore, characters and world building
