My friend Terry had a 1963 International BC-160 Dump truck. the battery died & it sat for a bit on there old sold property. I had a blast riding in that Old dump truck!
Just a helpful hint here, when you have batteries wired in 12 volt like that, hook up the positive jumper cable to the first battery and the ground jumper cable to the last battery that way you are charging all 3 batteries equally instead of hooking to the outside battery only. Also mechanical pump Cummins fuel pumps like that one have a screw on the back of that pump solenoid that will bypass a bad fuel pump solenoid. Just screw it in all the way and you will have your fuel pump ready to run then just back it out to shut off the fuel to the pump and kill the engine.
Good Job Hank & Wiley . Yep one little air hose will stop everything. Looks like a little TLC needed . But looks good enough to haul with again at least maybe a pit truck if nothing else. Mack
Love the older trucks. especially ones with Dayton Wheels! It reminds me of trucks from the greatest era of American Trucking. It’s crazy how the trees grow through it, it’s in a lot better condition than I thought it would be! Great video!
You two are an absolute hoot, even during a hot day with baked ovaries. I thought you were prior military Hank by some of the words and terminology you used. Thank you so much for your service to this nation. God bless you and Wiley!
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Hank and Wiley my hat is off to you both. You both did a lot of work on this one. Wow. Seems to run fairly good. Could be a number of things why not moving like air pressure or clutch or things along that line. I commend you for the effort you both put into this one. I never did hear if you had a buyer for it or somebody just interested or what ever. You both take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. My compliments to Hank and Wiley for their caring about these old pieces of equipment. You guys are tops. Thanks Retired Air Force veteran. Steve.
With y'all's mechanicing skills and wiring skills I don't know why y'all don't open up a mechanic shop 🤔 lol God bless y'all love the Channel keep it up
Hey guys, next time try a sawzall with a 12" landscape blade. That is a more practical method to remove smaller trees. The big advantage is that you can also use a sawzall to cut roots underground, unlike chainsaws. Love your channel.
I am a retired firefighter and I have driven fire trucks with so many of the engines you have done videos on. When I was assigned to Station 7 our Engine 7 had an L10 Cummins. We called her the Lead Sled. Not too quick.
29:51 🤣😂 it sounds like what he mentioned about the Mack super liner the buzzer that tells you that the ignition is on here's an example when the horn is fouled and it's stuck
Just another one of my wisecracks, You guys so well with the ancient beat up stuff, if you came up on something new, it might not run for you. Lol In my case, I've spent so much time in the kitchen, I wouldn't know how to start the little red tractor. Cooking and wisecracks, that's all I'm good for. As always, all the best to everyone. Chef Scott 8
Another great video hank and whiley from Hamilton farm the dump truck was running well when started up great fun also to watch can't wait to see next adventure yous do god bless you both
hey look close just behind the fan but lower towards the bottom where you were looking when he tried to start it theres a small wasps nest but no wasps on it but look close you'll see it
So I chuckled when you said all you need is vice grips and a crescent wrench, but to give you the English names for those tools they would be Mole Grips and an adjustable spanner and there versatility makes them the swiss army knife of tools..
You know if you hold a dip stick strait up in the air long enough you will never be low on oil . think about it . Man its making oil ! love that . Wally's really leaking today .
Hi from uk guys👋👍 good little runner this one turned out to be 👌 I must admit I was amazed engine bay was only dust as seeing all the trees etc growing thru truck I was like 🙈 but yeah purrs like a kitten👍 and I got told of a guy (cos I know nothing about trucks) but he said unlike car etc that rely on hydraulic force to stop (which I know about cars) trucks etc need air pressure to release first so I guess that with the air leaking in cab it off the release for brakes and with out it seeing pressure it cant actuate the chambers I maybe wrong but I know you already know this ( I just like to think I understand what am informed in 👌) makes sense tho thanks for your time and be safe see you soon guys👍👋
If you ever want a heavy duty set of jumper cables go to a scrapyard that uses magnets and ask them to save you the electric cable going to the mag the next time they change it all you will have to do is put heavy duty ends on it
That thing's making oil, AND trees! That's one of the best things about Diesel vehicles, the fuel lasts for years instead of the months that today's gasoline lasts for. Too bad it's the most expensive fuel though. God bless you too Hank, and Wiley too! :-)
It almost seems like instead of buying new tires for that rig, they decided to get a whole new truck. They got every dimes worth of wear on those skins. Great video gents.
HAY HANK SORRY FOR NOT KNOWIN' BUT WHAT HAPPENED TO OLE BRANSON??? GLAD TO SEE YOU GOT A T.Y.M. NOT A BAD UNIT... TONY AND NATHAN GOT ONE WHY NOT YOU RIGHT??? COOL, KEEP PUSHIN' ON HANK... PEACE...
Brilliant ! 3 old and two well used batteries and vice grips get the job done. Keep those video's coming. Those old batteries recovered pretty well for that extra start.
FYI for the next Cummins with a PT fuel pump....you don't "HAVE" to put power to the solenoid to make the engine run....there is a screw in the back of the solenoid that is a manual override....screw that in until it stops and the pump is in the "RUN" position. Of course you have to screw it back out to shut the truck off! ;-)
When jump starting from another vehicle I was always told to run the donor vehicle at a fast tick-over to boost the voltage going to the receiving vehicle.
man those old internationals have the best air compressors. i somehow caught mine on fire the other day, wire shorted out to the cigarette lighter and started a electrical fire i was able to put it out in time before it did and serious damage but it melted the airline to the parking brake and was pissing out air but the thing still held at 110 psi i was able to dump my load and park it back in the shop and it didnt loose any air. even builds air pressure no problem with the hole in the line
Howboutcha Hank, Are you sure that was Old Spice or Old Mice Wiley was smelling of being the tight places he squeezes into 😂😂 God Bless you both. Great video as always.
Your good old boys need to bring that bush hog and front cutter to all the jobs looks way better and scares the hell out all the critters so y'all can get to work and if y'all ever come down to Maryland Baltimore DC area I'm a tree man Daddy's an old diesel mechanic we'd love to give you good old boys a hand God bless you all hamiltonville farms
on a cummins old style pump ypu can turn in the screw on front of where the solenoid is it does not have to have 12 volts it the manuel over ride to the pump save from putting a hot wire to it
i appreciate yur work in which reassuring for life and spending time worth it for its result...like u..ilove searching for valuable ancient thigs and excavating in the wilderness: especially the traces of the iran-iraq war... best regards from iraq
I saw Wiley put the negative cable straight onto a painted surface on his truck which isn't a good ground. The negative cable MUST be touching bare metal to get a good connection.

There is something satisfying to me listening to a idling diesel. Am I alone?
Great job guys.
Right on
Jamais un moteur électrique ne pourra nous donner cette satisfaction

Looks like the modern batteries sure can take beating on the poles a lot more than the old ones did 🤔...😁 Good work, keep on rocking 🙂
Enjoyed this video Hank. The Dynamic Duo fired up another one!!! Maybe one day I will figure out what y'all do hooking up the batteries. Lol.
Lol. Maybe . Have a good one buddy

They are nice rims but a lot of tire shops won’t work on them because they can be dangerous to take off
Yer very lucky that yer weather is so dry rust is not a huge problem
