I hadn’t been to Albany for years.. OMG. I forgot just how beautiful it is. There is so much natural beauty.. and believe it or not, but I think it was actually settled before Perth or Fremantle was.. lots of history there and the National Anzac Centre is just incredible.. I would challenge anyone to try come out of the Anzac Centre and not have been emotionally moved and saddened by what our solders went through. Thank’s for watching, love your feedback.. You been getting out and about filming mate?
Short but very beautiful! You must have picked a flat calm day to film, there's barely a ripple on the water. Just a promise of those endless blue skies that are the Australia we know! The enormity that is Australia, just beautiful. We have a big family wedding this weekend, 🤞🤞the weather is kind to us. The wedding has been cancelled twice due to Covid 19 so we really are all looking forward to seeing all the family and friends! Hopefully your weather is kind to you as well. You must be heading into spring about now, you will have all the blossom on the fruit tress to look forward to, such a pretty time of the year full of promise. Take care❤️, as always stay safe.🤗 🤗
Omg We got so so so lucky with the weather when we were in Albany Rosemary.. It’s normally quite windy and wet apparently. Wow I have my fingers crossed for you all, that must have been heartbreaking for all involved to have had to postpone the wedding twice already.. I’m sure it will be a magic day for all, and think it will feel even more special due to the postponements… Yes almost into spring here.. and there are already some events coming up blossom festival.. wildflower festivals.. should be good. Hope I have time to get out and film some. Stay safe, have a wonderful weekend with your family and dance (like crazy lockdown people who just got out) at the wedding. ❤️😄
Thank heaps Dex, omg Albany is absolutely stunning.. so much contrasting mounts vs ocean vs cliffs vs Forrest… it it just awesome.. Wish I had more to to go out and explore this great state we live in.
Thankyou for showing us a beautiful part of Australia...looks like l’ll be taking a road trip down south next time I’m in WA...I’m thinking though that it might be nice if the place names had local indigenous names as well..an overdue trend(imho) that’s happening more and more around our country!
Hi Terence. You are so welcome. Thank you for watching. Yes there is a lot to see down south in Western Australia. Many places around WA do have the local indigenous names.. Albany was home to the Menand Noongar people, who called the area Kinjarling which means “the place of rain”. Albany (Kincinnup) I think is its indigenous name.. Thank you for your comments I just looked up the name & meaning when you asked. I do remember seeing signs around a lot of the areas in WA which tell you about the indigenous history and names.
The Noongar Tribe lived there when Major Edmund Lockyer raised the Flag in Albany/Fredricktown. The few Aborigines Tribes were scattered around . Being such a harsh land…,there were not a lot of Aborigines in Australia - they had small Tribes of mainly small family Groups. Women died in childbirth, they didn’t live to a great age (no doctors etc).
noticed the garage band acoustic guitar.. you are one step ahead in my thinking :D might i ask, which drone did you use for your amazing footage. thanks
WOW. Been in WA for 20yrs, never been to Albany. Thanks for the views.
