So strange they did this instead of a Death of Superman box - one of the most well known comic storylines of all time. Includes the 4 fill-in/imposter Supermen, black suit Superman, and go all out on a Doomsday villain with multiple play modes/villain cards.
Probably had more to do with United being a family friendly game. They may not have wanted to bring up Big Blue dying, and calling it Metropolis is better than calling it Superman Family. If family friendly is part of the reason it may mean a box call Suicide Squad may not happen, but a team deck called Task Force X might
Yes, Season 2 offered Season 1 right off the bat because of the different expansions that were supposed to go to retail but didn't so CMON felt they had an obligation to offer it again to those who chose to wait for retail but now didn't have the opportunity.
Thank you! I completely forgot that they were suppose to have those go retail but then something fell through and they reordered them in X-men. I think before multiverse they were able to get the retail partner set back up, which is why they didn’t reorder retail expansions during multiverse, and only offered Fantastic 4 and Sinister 6 because of the tie ins to Galactus and Carnage
