On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Normally, it's not a fight until the F-16 drops its external tanks. Here, though, you needed them to double as skids for your crazy low flying.
I think we can agree grass stains are better than shrapnel.

Worked on the older F-16 blocks in the hangar, also was assistant-crewchief during my compulsory. The Viper will always have a special corner in my heart.
Cool. I was a crew chief at Hill AFB when they arrived. I loved working on that aircraft. Lots of fun but lots to learn. We had F-4Ds prior. Miss it.
@@seaotter6811 Yeah, I miss it too sometimes. I was at an airbase in the Netherlands, so old block versions at that time, I think 15? Loved the work, but the better paycheck in IT and the wish to get my own home won me over in the end.

My dad was a pilot there and retired there. Don’t remember the squad number but he was a “diamondback”

The ultimate "you're not that guy, pal" F-16 video so far.
So something interesting to think about with hypersonic missiles trying to engage a fast moving target, is that at the terminal phase they will have very little time to make fine adjustments. Both in processing speed and the actual ability to maneuver. A slower moving missile on the other hand has a lot more time to process and potentially maneuver. Of course the missile has to be moving faster than it's target so it doesn't just get outrun but that's pretty obvious.

Nearly any other pilot, I suspect, and that mission would have been marked as "maneuver kill" for the SU35.
Absolutely wild.
That missile contact wasn't so much the missile striking the aircraft as the aircraft striking the missile. And at that speed, the missile wouldn't even have to explode to bring the aircraft down.
(Also, those hypersonics exploding the terrain around you was pretty terrifying.)
