I've noticed two things I'd really like to see.
    1. The ability to increase the size of the thumbnail of a part in your design library so it's of a size that you can see when scrolling through a stack of hundreds of parts.
    2. The ability to use equations and global dimensions when setting feature dimensions. I.e., when using extrude, direction 1 dimension = 0.5*"height". I know for some features (like extrude) you can get around this by putting in a nominal dimension initially then once it is set, double-clicking on the feature in the feature tree and changing the dimension that shows up in blue text on the model.

Something that is irritating is that for those of us that have paid maintenance for years have to pay extra for cloud services while you include it at no cost for new seats. Punishing your existing users that have paid 1000's in maintenance to support you over the years isn't a good look.

Yeah, they've got that backasswards, don't they. Fund new development on the back of current subscription users, then give it away for free to new people. Kind of jacked...

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear your frustration and understand where you're coming from. We hope that the cloud services development will help new and existing users better collaborate, but appreciate your honest feedback here.

@@solidworks Wouldn't even be an issue if cloud services was an added cost to EVERYONE. But to shit on your customers that have stuck by you for years paying maintenance is honestly insulting. It needs to be one or the other. Everyone pays, or no one pays.

@@mjktrash It really is. Even cell phone companies have changed their attitudes and have included current customers in new promotions.

    وشكرا solid work

Great video thank you but I do think that cloud services should not be an optional upgrade for existing customers I think it should be included.

Correct me if I'm wrong, you could alwaye save your coordinate of choice when e exporting files. This is not new???

It was possible in the past, now its easier and more discoverable since the option is right there in the dialogue rather than being buried in settings

I have less than ZERO interest in a cloud based anything. Like I want my IP out there on the cloud.

please do this tab and slot on curved (built from multiple arcs) surfaces. I wanted to make a welded S letter in 3 separate pieces.

I'm addicted to SolidWorks, but I'm also retired and use the software as a hobby.
What is the Processor and Ram requirement now going to be?

a stupid question here. How to move the auxiliary view in direction other than normal in Soldiworks drawing?

    • @markpetersona
      @markpetersona 9 місяців тому

Not stupid at all. You can use any linear edge or even a sketched line. So if you have a specific angle you'd like to use, sketch a line at that angle then create the Aux view using that sketched line

I prefer Siemens NX for one reason; less competition from 'two bit' minions.

Perhaps SW24 will make a liar out of me, but I am so tired of hearing about "Performance Improvements" every year, I'm over it.
You want to impress me? FIX large patterns, until then I just don't want to hear about it. SW performance improvements are a marketing lie every year.

Yesterday I compared the performance when opening a large assembly in Solidworks and the Russian program Tflex (on the parasolid engine) Tflex coped in 5 seconds, solidworks in 20 seconds.

Although it's pretty informational, this presentation felt way too scripted and I'm pretty sure that each of the comments you read were planted.

I agree, they could do a much better job presenting this instead of making it all cheesy and fake.
