You followed thru & accomplished your mission. I know you realize the importance of that & that understanding is what got you up & over a clearly high mountain you had to climb for the day. The satisfaction at the end of the day is your reward......well done.
Well said! So true, these builds aren't easy. So many things to balance, building it is only half of the show. Cash flows to fund it, material procurement, finding time and energy while working a full time job. 😅
Always impressed by your work ethic and dedication.
Gotta make it happen!
You wrapped the curbs with ice water shield! Outstanding!!!
You make it look so easy. Really impressed with your craftmanship.
Thanks! Just wait until you see the final product. It looks unreal since I painted it this weekend
Nice. I would do the whole roof in ice and water too.
Doesn't cost a whole lot more in the grand scheme of things and seals the whole roof up.
Cheap insurance against leaks.
Love the videos. Gunna start building my off grid home soon and these are very helpful
Looking good. Coming along nicely
truly an amazing experience.
Amazing and you did all by yourself! I wish we had such variety of materials in Argentina
Awesome video! Love your work ethic
I got you on the AG1. hope you get that kick back!
Well done!!! (And fast too...giggle 😂🤣😊)
I started to use AG1 post surgery - I mix it into
a smoothie every morning . It’s exactly as advertised.
It's awesome! I still drink it to this day!
You don't by chance have considered offering a plan. Love your video. Many thanke
Thanks for posting so often. I missed your vid 2 days ago (I'm going to go watch it now; just saw this new vid & wanted to comment since it just posted); my car got washed away in all the rain we go in Tacoma. Just kidding......Lol !!
very well thought out, bet this feels great lol
I already know it will look amazing once its finished. Do you buy interior design from professionals or how do you plan it out? :) Thanks
Hi Devon, you are my inspiration, thanks for sharing with us. I have a question, in the overall process making a home, what do you prefer making a wood home, or a container home? what would be the pros and cons for both that you have experienced?
Amazing video, could you talk about permitting process too? Yes, it will be different from city to city but will still be cool to know. Thanks in advance.
I'll have to do a deep dive in a future vid
Next time, use rubber gaskets on the nails going thru the flashing. It will prevent water from wicking down the nails and will remain waterproof for years. Weather and sun degrade caulking!😊😊😊
Will do! Thanks for the tips!
Can you/someone share the recommend Dewalt laser level? I couldn’t access the Amazon link in the video details. Great work on the roof! I’m in progress on a renovation of an old horse barn at my place in Oregon and love this series. Thank you brother 🙏🏼
Makes me wanna build a tiny home!

Devon, this has been such an awesome series so far. Wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing or talking about your list of tools that you have utilized for this build? Thanks 👍
Hey hey! I'll share all of that stuff once the home is complete and I do the cost breakdown.
@@devonloerop That would be epic! I'll be Looking forward to that video. :)
With low pitch under your shingles, I fear that your decking will wick moisture, develop mushy spots and then start leaking. I’d have probably used metal roofing instead.
I built a house around an existing structure 30 years ago that had a low pitch with wafer board deck and had to re-do it later as I lived in it and saw the leaks. I’m sure that wafer board is ok on steeper pitch but if I built a new structure, I’d spend extra and go plywood to start with. Extra here and extra there adds up on a project quickly.
Good stuff dude! I'm building a shed roof house as well on my channel. Adding skylights would've been cool!
You still can! They really aren't too hard to install and they are pretty affordable.
@@devonloerop I'm already set on 16oc lol.
Always use metal roof.
That microphone is its own character on this build. ;)
Hahahahah 😂 I'm getting an external battery bank, so I can't outwork it's battery life
Yes. Please add a link so we know which one to stay away from, ha.
How can I get these plans?!!
Hey @dewalt He needs some sponsorship. Your 20v skill saw, the table saw, snippers etc.. He also needs some gloves or some instruction on painting so he doesn't paint his hands:) hahahahaha
Why no more videos of the progress?
this project is so fun but i'm still so confused why it's called "cedar hallow". it sounds incredibly religious haha. i feel like "cedar hollow" would sound so much more cozy-house-like
I think he just misspelled it
Wait did I forget to change it in the video??
4 minute ad before the video starts? dang, they must be paying good!
😎
They've infiltrated every aspect of society. Our preacher hit us with an ad before last weeks sermon. Even flicked a little on his youngest boy who was crying and said "Be Gone Demons". And yes, he immediately stopped crying and became 2x more healthy.
which area you are you amazing
Side skylight flashing done wrong and You even saw it.
You ever thought about starting an investment group?
Are you going to be living in this when it's done?
Why is the music always loud in your videos and the instruments sound loud? but yr vois not
post a min ago?
Had it listed as public when i still had to make a few tweaks
dont see laser link above.
Yea it was private nude video.. He made some edits and posted to public. All good 👍
You guys are always quick to the draw when these vids drop 🤘🏻
Nude??
@@Pozoe12 I saw a nude horse in a previous video. Edgy.
No reason to _ever_ see the step flashing.... 😕
Also, next time do yourself a favor and only nail one leg of the steps to the roof deck.
When it comes time to replace the shingles you can shift them around to get the new ones on without removing the whole skylight.
Appreciate the feedback! Still learning :)
@@devonloerop You're doing well for a young guy without a background in the trades, 👍
I just found your channel and enjoy that you dig right in to making a long term investment.
When going up the sides with steps just keep them 6mm or so above the bottom edge of the shingle, so they're hidden.
You don't need to try to 'use up' the whole length of the flashing. (Velux gives you enough for 5" shingle exposure)
@@jimurrata6785 sounds good man! Seriously I'll take any and all feedback. I'm just stoked that we've had 30+ good rains and it's been bone dry inside!
You're doing an awesome job.....but you didn't have to stagger the skylight flashing like that(flashing, shingle, flashing, shingle). You should have nailed the flashing as one continuous run then laid the shingles over the top.Keep up the good work.
I appreciate that, I saw their install video and the mentioned staggering so i figured I'd do it per spec. It's been holding up really well so far! I'll feel much better once winter is over and I know I'm 100% good to go.
Why no more videos of the progress?
