Great to see that so many people liked the med 2 footage! I was the one who made them for Stephen. I used the mod Bellum Crucis for Med 2. I also do videos on my channel but of a different sort, so if you want to check it out it would be a honor.
Please make videos about the normans in the iberian reconquista, like Roger de Tosny and the Crusade of Barbastro(Nobody in the internet talks about this subject).
Another fenomenal video. Thanks for Your time. Portugal is a great subject cause it is the firts Templar Nation! Besides the conquest of Lisbon! Gualdin Pais and his Knights please!
Great to see Medieval 2 total war in there, think that it, particularly the Crusades campaign in the Kingdom expansion, will help to show how certain troops looked and be helpful for period accurate maps. I think it works well coupled with your narration
1:24 i am no expert in armor, but most probably the padded jacket (called also gambesone) was not in leather, but made with linen because it was much easier to make and cattle was really important in the middle ages, and leather was used to make other objects, such as shoes
You should try Total War: Attila. It has a medieval mod (1212 AD) which spans several centuries (despite the name) and has excellent detail, variety and historical accuracy. It's also got better graphics.
I just came across this blogpost on templarsnow in which the muslims are descibed as viewing the templars as more and more significant over time. This was shown by the worsening treatment of templar prisoners. Apperantly this early on they were held for ransom and not executed. The master was held for three years but then released as part of a peace treaty between Byzans and Nur Al DIn.
?.... I feel like there should be a ? Heavy cav. seems like a slam dunk... But cav. over all.... I'd love to hear those more versed than I pontificate the angles.
The templars were some of christendom s best and bravest . Grand master Gerard de Ridefort was an example of poor leadership at times in the temple. Hattin & Cresson showed his tactical naivety and many brothers were martyred needlessly, leaving the order weakened & the ranks depleted.
Is history's greatest warriors a new series of videos or part of the tittle. The tittle do have a few contenders including ww1 french cavalry wich beat bulgaria, austria and a german army thus bringing forth the end of the war.
The title is kind of misleading, now that I think about it. This is the first in a new series called History's Greatest Cavalry Warriors, and I am planning to include the Hussars in that series.
Best heavy cavalry- 1. Winged hussars 2. Knight templars Best light cavalry- Mongols Best infantry- 1. Romans 2.greeks Most chivalrous soldiers- rajputs of India Best strategist- Alexander and shubutai

Nice footage mate! Do you have Attila total war? The 1212AD mod has fantastic crusader assets that could be used in future vids
Really nice. 👍😄
@@MasonBryant The thing is that it Attila doesn't have a cinematic camera.
Hey very cool. 😁 I'll check your channel out. 👍
Experimenting with video game footage for this one. Let me know what you guys think.
Not bad
Excellent work! What's the mod you're using though?
Interesting, you are up to a good start on this
Preferred the old style
i like it
Thanks!
Thank you!

Excellent video bro well done
This series will be great.

league of pingu -01 I took that line “probably made of leather” directly from Malcolm Barber, so I’m comfortable with it.
Bravo my friend. I really enjoyed this video.
Always interesting. Good music
Very nice, thanks.
Fantastic! I love the video game scenes, wow!
Excellent video!
Is it possible to do a video on the Sergeant Brothers?
They are interesting and we haven't heard much of them.
Nice video 👏👏👏 keep up the good work.
I don't remember to have subscribed to this channel
*_But I am happy I am subscribed to it_*

Much better than still images.
Hey there ! 👋 .... bit of a random question but were there any templar knights with red cloaks ? ...... thanks in advance 🙂
Medieval 2! Yeah baby!
I have your ep now, a great listen, any chance you may release more?
I liked the animation

Any idea what happened to the 87 captured Templar’s? Maybe ransom? Probably killed ? That’s a huge loss

The Templars destriers must have been terrifying in full gallop bearing down on you

God, it's hard to find anything on UA-cam about the Templars that isn't sensationalized. This is...ok.
The footage is great and i love it, the video has become more racy coz of it. I hope nobody claims copyright.
I think Templars was the first "Special Forces" in medieval times..
What is your entro music?
no sean hross here? wonder why.

M2 Total War!!!! Hell yeah!!!!
Try stronghold crusader 2 game footage, little better quality I would think
Awesome video Stephen, atilla 1212 Templars look better :)
Imagine wearing that gear in the sun of the Holy Land? Yikes!
Who rode the knight's additional 2 or 3 horses?
Nobody usually. Squires of sorts cared for them.

In their time they were the best - however in all of history, Polish winged Hussars were the best cavalry that ever existed.
I also love the Hussars. I plan on doing a video about them for this series.
you could also argue that Mongolian cavalry was the most succesfull

Medieval 2 is great, but extemely dated....
Very bold claim... isn't this title usually given to the Mongols?
Yeah but for the best light cavalry
@@Eric..Cartman Apparently Mogols only used light cavalry ;)
I'm sorry, but the Polish Winged Hussars would like a word with you regarding the misleading title of this video.

Not really it where the Mongols whom established the biggest empire on Earth and defeated the templars while invading Poland and Hungary
The Hungarians whipped the Mongols the next time they showed up.
