Thumbs up as soon as you posted the comment from the “non-viewer”. Suspect he always watches. And definitely learned something. I think I’ll start scanning my negatives instead of paying for the lab to scan.
Not a professional photographer, but a UX designer, and watching someone else go through their creative process is just so appealing and gets me #turnt ! Love your videos and humour
I think I learned something - thx. I am involved in a huge personal project digitalising all my negatives, but also slides over the last 50 years! I am using Epson V850 Pro plus the delivered Silverfast software, and after a huge learning curve I am finally getting pretty ok results.
The irony is that he couldn't take 2 seconds but took an order of magnitude more time out of his life to drop a comment! Logic! Great channel and humor. Just what is needed in film photography not just emulating the holy trinity of film channels
I just discovered your channel yesterday, and have been bingeing all the videos since. This one makes me want to start scanning all the negatives - super helpful!
Great stuff as always. Eventually your channel will just be a non stop loop on my TV. Just as soon as there's enough content that I can forget what I've already seen. Keep it up.
Welllllll, as far as I know there is no right way to do it haha, at least not one that's practical. Every version of a negative you see is just an interpretation soooooooo...yea. I say give the trial a run and see if it's your cup of tea. They just released V2 of Negative Lab Pro so it might look a little different too so heads up
grainydays well i bought the V2 immediately after watching this video and only got to scan 2 shots before my Epson V600 just randomly started giving me a green line across my scans now, i think i need a beer and i’ll think about how to fix it tomorrow 😂
Digtal camera scanning and Negative Lab Pro are like mind blowing to me. The end result looks so much better than basic lab scans. And who pays for the good scan on a whole roll? It's new to me and still very amazing. I can't believe how good my results are.
Well, after seeing your process and almost all your videos you made me take the next step and go ahead.... to keep my MiniDVD Sony Handicam from 2005 handed from my parents.
I did learn something but my problem is I'll probably forget it and that's why I just come back to the video and learn it again..lol cool video buddy, never shot film I've always had a dslr but now all I have is a mamiya c220 I got through a trade and the only use it gets is collecting dust :)
Hey, I like your photos… it has pastel look… i just bought film camera because of your channel… actually I’m buying this because i dont like editing my digital image, i can spend hours in front of the laptop by editing my photos… well, your editing style is minimalist and give superb image… Is there anyway to get pastel look photos, directly from film? I’ve tried portra 400, but i didn’t over exposure it… it’s good, but not as pastel look as yours… could you give tips which film and how to treat it to get pastel look? Thanks
"welcome to negative feedback {yada yada squarespace} today we'll be shooting in my birthplace of Area-51" Btw great content, I usually only comment to insult people.
Just curious, since most of your photos look pretty flat in the mids and highlights are pretty high up, do you use exposure compensation and how much? Loving the result right out of the camera (instead of pulling highlights and bumping shadows). Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the videos but no-one is talking about the monitor and the correct color profile before using Lightroom etc. Can you give some information about the right monitor and color profile etc. :)
Currently sick in bed and happened to stumble across your channel on a trip down the film photography rabbit hole. I must say, thoroughly enjoy your videos. Right on for not taking yourself seriously like every other 'How to Film' wannabe. P.S. Still having trouble on how to white balance in Microsoft Paint, any tips?
Looks like his auto density would have worked better from the start. Shows the extra work and grain you get when you follow the latest fad of over exposing all of your color negative film.
Lovely video chief
thanks g

I scan my negatives with SilverFast 8 on an Epson V800...extremely pleased with the results.

Amazing dude! Just a question: you simply remove your roll-film from your camera and scan it? Without going to a photo shop?
Nope! You gotta rewind it in camera first then get it developed by a lab or you can do it at home. Then scan!
