    It's a pain when aftermarket parts are just not up to the job.
    Great evidence based diagnostic. Interesting video.
    No problem for you mate 👍

    Excellent video Dave, you coped that inverted signal very early in the diagnosis. You a are very fluent with the pico too able to swop from the 6 to the 7. I’d probably get brain freeze right there. Thanks Dave 🙏

    Another fantastic & very informative video in how you diagnosed the fault with the intermittent starting. 👍

    I saw a Bernie Thompson video on upside down waveform on cam sensors and it turned out the camshaft was magnatized and needed to be de-magnetised. Well worth bearing in mind on this sort of issue. Magnetised camshafts reversing the polarity is not something we normally think about.

    • @davesterl
      @davesterl  Рік тому +1

      i seen him de-magnetising a crankshaft ring but the waveform was not upside down

    Unfortunately, some aftermarket parts can be problematic, but people will try to save money. I will not cover the labour on an aftermarket part if it fails and has been supplied by the customer
    This is becoming a more frequent issue. Your usual persistence and knowledge has again come to the rescue.

    Really interesting video, learned a lot from it and nice to see live data/graphs being explained. Have the autel scanner myself just not the pico tool as im a home/diy "mechanic" but can definitely see its usefulness 👍

    Great video Dave, as we all know , if it comes in a white box , it should say on the outside, fit at your own risk , cheap crap , Poppy is growing up so fast , we took our daughter to university today near Liverpool, she wants to be a primary school teacher, up at 6am tomorrow (sunday) , swimming competitions with our youngest (16) , knackered doesn't come into it 😂😂😂👍

    Great find and excellent presentation, I have seen where a bad earth or missing earth can cause similar affect, the current flows via a different path which can cause some residual magnetic flux in the reluctor ring and the fix is to de-magnetise the components or fit new ones. Anyway great video.

      @davesterl  Рік тому

      Have you experienced that yourself?

    • @Anode_Diagnostics
      @Anode_Diagnostics Рік тому

      Not personally but saw a case study on it and the position sensor was doing exactly the same thing as yours and inverting, once the reluctor was de-magnetised it was fine.

      @@davesterl Okay Dave, much appreciate your feedback but "UA-cam" wouldn't be worried about me linking a UA-cam Video on your UA-cam even though it's someone else's video, unless that is if that someone or you made a complaint about me doing so. I can't imagine Bernie being worried about it after all it's giving him exposure and I did so in good faith just in case it was of interest to YOU and your viewers. I agree with your video and enjoyed it very much but was taken back by your comment about not believing everything you see on UA-cam, your not the only one who is smart enough to know that. No matter how old you and I may be we can always learn something new from other people the trick is to filter the good and present good evidence to disprove the not so good, that was why I watched your videos because I knew that I could learn something new even though I have lots of qualifications in this field. I said it before and I'll say it again you seem to be a very good technician and you present your videos very well but your not the only one who can do that on here your one of many that I enjoy or at least enjoyed. Feedback is a good thing as you learn from it normally. Cheers, Terry. PS, Written in good faith.
