Thx. I actually have never sailed one. Bought her and started cutting. Shouldn’t compromise her ability much. A little more windage maybe. Looking fwd to sailing her, but especially camp sailing.
@@ericdahlkamp6781 Ive only sailed my ds1 3 times,no experience.its fast.in 15mph winds with just jib i was hitting 10-12 mph crosswind. Was too fast for me.
Im Confused as to what a DS2 actually is. Im setting mine up to organize the tight cuddy w/a stern teak swim platform inverted to act as a small table and to store gas and water underneath. A cockpit tent seems to be needed. The bow got a round hatch w/ bag insert to act as a anchor locker in calm conditions and I packed to foam in to leave a internal shelf surrounded by foam board for access from the inside inspection port also.
@@johncole3010 it’s a very common American Daysailer designed by Uffa Fox and George O’Day. Mine is a 1979. This is the model 2 which was an “improvement” on the DS1. It’s the most common of the models. There’s a DS3 too now. Would love to see yours. Sounds intriguing. Feel free to message me. She’s put away for the winter, but cabin is all done and boat is painted other than the hull.
