- Renee Zellweger speaks about late Paul Newman's foundation The Painted Turtle. SeriousFun Children’s Network is where child artists attend camps for children living with serious illnesses and their families. The famed actress then introduces Natalie Cole. The multi-Grammy award-winning singer performs her 1975 breakthrough hit "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)," Charlie Chaplin's 1930s jazz standard "Smile" (from her album Unforgettable: With Love), and Lionel Rand's 1940 standard "Let There Be Love" (from 1993 album Take A Look) popularized by her father Nat King Cole. In Natalie's final filmed concert appearance, An Evening of SeriousFun Celebrating the Legacy of Paul Newman gala event took place at the Hollywood Dolby Theater, Los Angeles, CA on May 14, 2015.
Update January 1, 2016: LOS ANGELES - Natalie Cole, the Grammy-winning daughter of Nat "King" Cole" who carried on her late father's musical legacy and, through technology, shared a duet with him on "Unforgettable," has died. She was 65. Natalie Cole died Thursday evening at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles due to compilations from ongoing health issues, her family said in a statement.
"Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived ... with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever," read the statement from her son Robert Yancy and sisters Timolin and Casey Cole. Natalie Cole had battled drug problems and hepatitis that forced her to undergo a kidney transplant in May 2009. -- End of update --

What a way for the new year to start !!! Waking up to hear the awful news ! Another great entertainer passing !! Each and every year we lose a great person ! God needed you Natalie Cole to sing in his choir !! Rip 💕
rest in peace natile cole you will truly be miss
I went to every Natalie Cole concert in my city. I miss her live shows. She was so AMAZING! Who could thumb down this performance. She was ill, obviously, but she gave her all. Bless you, Ms. Natalie Cole.
Natalie...you inspired me! Thank you for the music. Thank you for trying so hard. Love you like crazy, miss you like Crazy.
Yes she gave us what God her. Gonna miss her so much 🥰
They don't make em like this no more! Even in her weakness, she was strong; completely beautiful!! RIP Ms. Natalie!
True Facts ❤❤❤❤
Failing health, 65 years old, and still sings like that. What a talent.
She certainly didn't look 65!
Great technique
makes the song "smile" a testament to what she knew her health situation was. One of the greatest, classiest girl singers in my lifetime. Saw her in concert a couple times in her prime.
One of the greatest.
True Facts ❤❤❤❤❤❤
She just looks like she enjoys singing so much, unlike the artist of today. Seems like her heart was in it and that makes all of the difference in the world. We miss you Natalie but we had 65 wonderful years to enjoy you. R.I.P.
Just to clarify this was NOT her last performance. But it’s clear she doesn’t receive the respect she deserves after a 40 year career. ❤️
So very true....God bless Her !!!
Are you a relative?
@@berthonpowell7366 seè some people just speak up for people even if they don't know them
@@briansmith6292 That part!
Couldn’t agree more! Natalie was a Legend in her own right!
Natalie is a Legend. She is elegant, classy, sophisticated, beautiful, and talented.
+Terrence Ragin you got that right!
Not that elegant with that trashy blouse
It doesn't seem possible that she only had about 7 more months to live, although she is not feeling totally well, you can tell here. RIP dear Natalie, we miss you. Superb orchestra, and great effort by Natalie. Sassy trumpet!
As I watch this and listen, I still can't believe she's not here! One of my all-time favorite female vocalists! I am so glad she ventured into her dad's style of music, and had such phenomenal success with it! Miss her like crazy!
Her battle with drugs didn't help her. Obviously it's sad, but not surprising
I miss her too😢
She was The Real Deal,Hi or Sober. Miss her So much ❤❤❤❤❤
Dear Lord, she is in failing health and yet she performed in her usual elegant style. I saw her in concert on once, In Seattle. She opened for Tony Bennett and she put on a show I will never ever forget. When she performed her original, "Since You Asked" the auditorium was as quiet as death itself. As she concluded with this beautiful love ballad there wasn't a dry eye in the house. She was super. She is now one of the lead singers in God's kingdom.
Natalie did what she loved until the end. It is obviously that she wasn't in her full voice in this performance but her heart was in it. In true Natalie Cole style she is standing with class and grace and giving it her all. RIP Natalie Maria Cole. LOVE U and you will be missed.
This is sad, but she made her contribution in the music industry. RIP Madame Cole.
The single most uninspired introduction of one of the most accomplished female pop and soul voices ever. If you introduce someone, do it with enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject, even if you are not interested in anything beyond yourself.
Natalie Cole was/is my absolute most favorite female singer. Such a beautiful voice and articulate artistry. I've listened to and have enjoyed her music all of her career. I especially loved all of her albums with her singing all of the jazz classics with the large Orchestras. I really go into overdrive when she sings the ballads. Natalie I will forever hold you in my musical heart. Thank You for your contribution to the Music Arts.
Natalie is a total performer, indeed her voice unmatched like her father the memries live on..
What a lady ,,,, you walked your path on this Earth ...... some bad .... some good... that is what life is all about...rip my lady..... you're father was proud of you.... he gave you your talent ...... and my god you used it...... luv ya .............
+Blanca Winter Duncan
Np .... know what your meant.....
Well said, Barbara, you echo our sentiments nicely!
Dear Natalie,i am happy to say i walked the earth the same time as you!!! sleep in peace ....you were and will always be our gift from God
Natalie...a TRUE SOLDIER!!!!! She's a little frail, voice a little weak in areas BUT YET she's still a singer!!! Love her, love her! I see Lynne Fiddmont on background vocals. Natalie looks good considering all she's been through. Orchestra is AWESOME!!!
she was dying
I thought she looked very good and Sounded Great
Addiction is so cunning baffling and powerful. Love those horns at 12 minutes. Nice. Natalie will always be one of my favorites. You should hear her duet with Whitney on Say A little Prayer for You. The only person I’ve ever heard hold her own with Ehitney.
She did okay but Whitney was belting and her notes were all supported in that performance. Natalie as mixing her notes and many of her notes were not supported. Whitney was using great placement as well
It must have taken every ounce of energy and courage she still had to perform this concert. Just amazing. Her performance of “Smile” seems particularly personal.
Natalie was one of my very favorite musicians.
" I miss her like crazy" 🌹
A beautiful talented woman.
Undoubtably one of the very best vocalists ever. Vocal power, style feeling, joy. Heard her in Wellington New Zealand in 2005. She was absolutely fabulous. I'd put her in the top 20 along with Arethra, Adele, Eva Cassidy, Trijnje Oosterhuis (Netherlands), Dusty Springfield,
RIP Dear Natalie. Thank you for all you gifted us with. You will be greatly missed but forever remembered.
A true professional and a extremely talented woman..Natalie Cole you are the sister we grew up with. Thank you for smiling all the way through your journey... We love you!!
This is an awesome concert. RIP Natalie. She was an awesome performer to the very end.
...unbelievable ...incredible...just superb...R I P Natalie Cole...
the lady still has it, such talent!!!!
What a dazzling soul. Thank you
She was so classy
You will be "Unforgettable" Natalie, though "I'll Miss You Like Crazy". When the "Snowfalls on the Sahara" your music still won't become "Inseparable" from our hearts. "I Wish You Love", "Sophisticated Lady"
I still can't get over this I admired you so. RIP
I can tell that she could relate to the lyrics in "Smile". It was heartfelt and sweet. God bless your soul, Ms. Cole. Sing in the clouds and fly with the other angels high up in the sky.
I am afraif she did it because her voice was note really there any more, or she was maybe feeling bad that particular evening. Then this is the way to camouflage a shortage. But don't get me wrong, I love Natalie!
"Wassup y'all?"😅 Not only talented, but so down to earth!! We miss you Ms. Cole.
Well done Natalie beautiful closing performance for a beautiful cause.
I Love You, No more encore on earth, you will be missed here!
I look forward to hearing your heavenly voice, there; in heaven!
R.I.P.
This was not her closing performance, but obviously a warmly memorable one. (Shame on the uploader for scummily clickbaiting)
This was such a brilliant performance! Thank you for posting!
Such a pretty lady. May she rest in peace.
she shall rest in peace because she is pretty. Stupid comment.
Amazing singer❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ RIP
Natalie was an incredible performer and her voice melt my heart every time I heard any of her songs. We love you Natalie and I feel a piece of me has left with you....I followed her career from the very beginning...RIP, rest in peace my dear Natalie and we love and miss you!!!
She sounds damn good. I was blessed to to see her in San Diego in her Unforgettable concert after she won all those Grammys. It was simply stratospheric 🌠
I saw her back then, it was 1993. The only reason I remember the year is that in March of that year we had an out of season hurricane level
storm. Season starts June 1st so it was early. Tornadoes, flooding, really high winds. Before the storm came it was windy and I gad taken
my dog out. He was pissing on a tree and the wind blew him backwards onto his butt. He looked at me like I did it. Anyway, I had a ticket to see Melissa Manchester that night with my Mom and Grandmother. They could not get over a bridge that was closed and the lights were all
out so we did not go. The venue gave me credit for three shows. I saw Julie Andrews, Natalie Cole and George Burns that fall. Natalie was so good!
@@Maya-bu2rf what a story!! Were you in Florida?
@@ceecee8757 Yes. I live in St
Petersburg. That performance was in Clearwater in 1993. I saw her in St. Petersburg at least once maybe twice. I also saw Phoebe Snow here back in the 70's.
I attended an unforgettable concert too, and you didn't live if you hadn't heard her sing Let There Be Love. It wasn't on that album but she was singing at her concert. Standing Ovation was so long they nearly had to stop the concert but she sang it again for the finale.
My favorite artist ever❤️ Rest in Paradise Queen 💖
One of the Best...Ms. Natalie Cole always gave me a thrill in my life.
Miss her.🤎🖤🤎🖤🤎💔💔💔🤎🖤🤎🖤🤎
Poor Beautiful baby girl gave such a great performance while some of us can clearly see how much pain she was in. Much Love & thanks to you Natalie while we're sure you are still singing only now for our Father in heaven!
I fell in love with Natalie Cole's music at a tender age of 16 in 1977 here in 2015 55 years of age and I'm still mesmerized by her music and her persona thank you Natalie for the years of music
she was struggling at times during this show............................but she was one of the best !!!!!!!!
Baby she still got it!
Only Nat King Cole's daughter could phrase perfectly like him. RIP to a beautiful singer and soul.
True Facts ❤❤❤❤
What I can say is the lady can sing
REST IN PEACE BROWN EYE BABY!!!
Natalie Cole, her wonderful famed father the One and Only: Nat King Cole taught us a lot about: LOVE, LIFE, CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER, THE LORD'S GREATEST COMMANDMENT, LOVE, AND I AM PROUD TO BE PART OF THEIR FAMILY, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE PRAISES! PRAISES TO THE ALMIGHTY FOR THE COLE FAMILY, MARIA, NAT AND THEIR WONDERFUL CHILDREN AS SEEN HERE, WITH NATALIE, LOVE CONTINUES THROUGH THEIR HARD WORK TO HELP SOCIETY SHINE IN GOODNESS, IN GOD'S EYES. PEACE, LADYT
Five years later and I still get sad thinking of her. So young. So prolific. There’s solace in her enjoying the company of her father once more. We still miss you, Natalie.
I'm watching this in 2020 and crying! I love you Ms. Natalie and will always! Special shout out to the backup girls! THAT'S how you cover!!!! YES! RIP Ms. Natalie!
she was.beautiful singer who had some down falls but God saw her through them all she's gone but will be unforgettable rest n Paradise....
R.I.P. Natalie! Loved your music
It’s too bad that Nat King Cole, was not accepted in the south, because he had so much talent to offer. He also didn’t see the legacy that he left his daughter, Natalie. I miss them both & I’m sure others around the world feel the same way. They died way too young.
Natalie was one of the best scatters ever!!
Rest in peace natalie
Natalie is not really gone she's jammin' with her Dad gettin' down as only the Coles have...
I love me some her one of my favorite singers
Miss you, Natalie!!!!
Sad to watch, in a good way. Brings back memories at a Deerfield Academy spring-event. I produced the music events. Natalie sang, "Mona Lisa"....A CAPPELLA.
And, in the stunned silence, before the applause, I said to myself, outloud, " Wow! I will always remember this moment. "
***and I haven't.

I was there for it was my birthday wow..so blessed I was
Natalie is an artist as great as her Dad, one of my favorite singer, I miss you.....
INCREDIBLE wow
I came here after watching her movie .living for love:Natalie Cole story. It's a must see. Go girl you are missed.
Natalie suffered from a major heart ailment throughout her life. It seems to be affecting her air supply and causing her to change her styling a bit to make up for it. She could still get her high notes out, some strained, but, she was within five years before she died. Every voice changes. She still put on an exciting Show!
too young to go...what a woman she did it her way.R.I.P. Luv ya, Always
WOW! I wish I had known you in life, what an incredible gift you have. Sound like angels singing from the heavens . RIP MS Cole
She looked and sounded GREAT here. How did SHE ever die of congestive heart failure? She looks to be in good health here. Definitely not overweight.
In 1982 she was in a bad hotel fire in Vegas, a doctor said that affected her song, matter of fact fer body guard later died due to that fire and smoke inhaler
R.I.P. I loved all the music you sang
RIP Natalie! Thank you for the music.
I saw her in concert a several months back in Charlotte, NC and it was an absolute joy to my heart!!!! It was magical and her voice was smooth and polished ... the work of a true artist in her element. She looked like a princess when she walked onto the stage and that made the night even more magical. She will truly be missed
She had voice of angel
Gosh I miss her so much! Love u always Natalie.
...unforgettable...R I P...beautiful soul...
Saw her at the Kennedy CENTER at the height of her decline. She got to the curtain and was met by help. At no point in the concert did it appear she was I’ll. A powerful artist that made some very bad life choices. Great music professional.😱😉🙏🏿❤️🌹😷😇🥰🥰🥰
The amateur camerawork is hideous. Yeah, the guy on the keyboard is really cute, but HOW can you pan away from a LEGEND like Natalie Cole?
RIP Natalie
Here in 2020 Natalie was Amazing.
A beautiful singer with a beautiful voice.
RIP NATALIE . YOU WERE SOMETHIN ! You and your sister carol were always so nice to me. Rest in Peace.
SHE WAS BADDDDDDD IN EVERY WAY! DAYUMMMMM
I loved that woman. Hope to see her in Heaven. Her song, "Unforgettable", was a Heavenly inspiration. It bridged the gap that all of us have when we've lost our Dad or Mom or both and we were too little to understand the pain and separation.
I know that we all ready know ,that this lady have got mad ,mad ,mad skills !!!
I love Natalie's jazz assemble better than R n B. songs. RIP
I still have her first major album. She was so talented. RIP
Her beautiful voice

You were unforgettably, and everlasting. I l lived for your love .I missed you like crazy.
Got tears rolling down my cheek for this woman
R.I.P. Natalie. You gave us so many wonderful songs that will always be around.
I love her to pieces ! My favorite album was Unforgettable and I saw a TV performance with Her and Johnny Mathis of Let there be Love and I also remember on one of her TV specials in 1978 She sang with Earth Wind and Fire. Totally Awesome!
Happiness and Love in your new life in Heaven.
