She lost to mordret when he used none of his reflections to fight her or any tricks he usefully uses, he fought completely fair and still bested Morgan
From the start, it was never a battle of strength, and I believe it was never her moment to shine, but mordred's. It was a battle of will. Of conviction. I believe she had everything to win, except the will to go through with it. The conviction to kill mordred no matter the cost. That is why she lost.
I think obsoletely the opposite. Morgan is strong and a good leader. She would have won the battle of the black skull. But not har confrontation with Mordret. She was stronger, faster and more resilient, but she didn't have conviction. Mordret speech makes everything clear.
"You don't understand? Oh, but it is so simple. There is no trick. Yes, you are stronger than me, faster than me... you are maybe even more skilled than me. However, dear sister, I am infinitely superior to you in one aspect. The most important aspect." "...It's desire. Don't you know that everything has its beginnings in desire?" "You see... my only desire is to kill you. But you, you want so many things. You want to kill and imprison me, but you also want to survive killing and imprisoning me. You want to protect your neck from being cut, your heart from being pierced, your skull from being crushed, your eyes from being gouged out. All these countless desires weigh you down. They are a burden that reduces your strength, dulls your skill, and diminishes your speed. But me? I have no such burden. I only care about one thing. I only want to kill you. That is why you are weak, and I am strong."
Exactly, this is why the morgussy I mean morgunny shippers need to stop. The true ship of SS is actually Sussie, Cassy? Idk, think about it, who was the FIRST person to be nice to Sunny as a sleeper(other than the old teacher), that's right. Cassie! She told him happy birthday! Now that's a keeper. Nephis is way too driven, she'd easily sacrifice herself for her goals if it meant leaving behind Sunny. Now even with the recent developments of the webnovel Cassie still found some way to tell Sunny happy birthday, now that's some dedication. If Sunny doesn't want Cassie I'll take her!
Nah, Cassie and sunny won't work cause of the biggest betrayel possible comeing from her. Sunny will literally never trust her. THE true best ship is Kai x Sunny, their flaws complement each other. Kai flaw is knowing when someone is lieing so Sunny is best fit due to him never lieing. Making him the most likable person to Kai. I rest my case.
@@nothingbuteverything9652 you may be right, but if Sunny doesn't swing that way Cassie is the best option because (insert copium here). I too, rest my case.
She shines earlier on, she just isn’t better than plenty of the people involved in the war, and she doesn’t have the crazy utility that comes with a godly aspect. She just lost that fight because as we know, legacies don’t have to fight for survival as much, and in Mordrets case he completely forsaked his body as long as he would be able to win the fight, she wouldn’t do that and despite her physical advantage, we know that stats aren’t the only thing that matters in shadow slave. Though as for mordrets sword skills I have no clue where he picked them up.
@@pineguin008 it’s also bothering me with how often the author describes Nephis as a superior swordsman to Sunny when Sunny has the most complex sword style we have seen in the whole series, it’s literally apart of his lineage while Nephis still hasn’t shown any lineage stuff. Nephis already taught him the basis of her own style and he learned it a long time ago. There is no reason for her to even be able to add as many styles as he has to her own style (the battle arena thing + shadowing monsters and saints combat master ability, none of which she has had better access too), and she isn’t shown to be as crafty as him otherwise so I don’t see how that would be different in combat, especially when he’s literally nicknamed the roach for his ability to clutch fights, while she just heals her way through them.
This fight may be a hint to supremacy, in the latest chapters Sumny and Nephis are trying to achieve supremacy but they don't know how to force their will onto the world. Sunny, in the 3rd nightmare or early lord of shadows decided that his will was to impose death like the shadow god did but that's not his only concentration. In this fight, Mordret highlights his will to only kill Morgan and that's why he comes out on top, he imposed his will, desire and used everything he had to try to bring it. He won the fight but ultimately due to external factors did not manage to kill her. Maybe Sunny needs to cast away the waste thoughts in his mind and focus on one thing, truly becoming death and in this way he would be bringing out his innate domain
While I definitely think the fight could have been handled better (come on we knew who was gonna win at the end anyway) but I think the biggest gripe I have against the author was just how he made her character all talk and next to no substance imo. I have caught up to latest stuff and I forgot about her for the most part. Hell I remember queen bee more clearly than morgan. She probably wasn't designated to be some1 super important in the grand scheme of the story but at the end I just feel we have some serious wasted potential.
You took the words right out of my mouth, she kept talking about how she was certain in victory against Song and how Mordret’s appearance just made it a fair 50/50. I guess this is our shadow slave version of the cocky young master.
Morgan def should have been stronger than Mordret, I think he had plot armor here since during his POV arc he was explaining how he was too weak to fight that master in his soul sea since his aspect wasn't physical.

Fair?? My man was losing an eye an arm had 100 diff injuries had one core and still shit talked her while dominating her
@user-rh9zi3bj1n And Modert probably has more experience then Morgan, as he is older and awakened at the age of 12.
Ah, Morgan. My favourite 1 core, half-blind, crippled, no aspect Mordret victim.
Yeah Morgan is mordant was a weird fight. Fell like she got done dirty.

@nothingbuteverything9652 say no to gay relationship. I really like their bromance. I am fine with either cassie or neph maybe both if possible.

Here I was excited after Morgan destroyed our Lord Mongrel.

Fr, dude was locked up most his life; could be explained through the existence that took him though. Hopefully it’s fleshed out more in the future.
