    Great video. This was my great uncle and I wish I’d gotten to know him better as we lived states apart with a large age gap. My grandfather was so proud of him ❤️

      You give me too much credit, Kameron but I'm glad it's helpful. Good luck on your paper.

    Thank you so much! Currently writing a rhetorical criticism utilizing this theory. This helped so much.

    This is very helpful in understanding why I have grown further from people I used to be close to, and closer to others in my personal life.

    How do these concepts apply to your experience in groups? Do you have any fantasy themes that come up in your groups?

    I learned a lot in this video but I have an inquiry. Is Symbolic Convergence Theory the same with Fantasy Theme Analysis? Sites on google say that fantasy theme analysis is just an attendant to the Symbolic Convergence Theory. And if they are not the same, how do they differ? Hope you'd be able answer my question, thank you!

      It's really the same. As I understand it, at some point, some researchers started calling it Fantasy Theme Analysis but most people I know consider them interchangeable names.

    How could you relate this to the anti-fans of The Legend of Korra?

      Hm. I'm not sure what that is. So, I don't know! : -)

    Thank you for breaking this theory down. It greatly helps in understanding what Bormann was trying to convey. May I ask if it is possible for you to explain a little of the role of symbolic convergence in studying "mass media effects" as mentioned in the article? Thank you.

    • @orgcomm
      @orgcomm  4 роки тому

      Thank you for your encouragement. As far as mass media effects, I can't speak to that side of it. I stick to the small group communication aspects of the theory. But, if you have that article (But, I'm not sure which article you mean), then I'm sure you'll be okay to understand it on your own.

      @@orgcomm Thank you for responding and I'll check in with my professor on mass media effects. The article I was referring to was of Bormann on Symbolic Convergence Theory: Applications for Teachers and Consultants. Once again thank you for the video.

    I didn't need proper training or previous exposure on convergence theory to intuit what it would be about. That's convergence theory in itself.
