But Morgan Elsbeth, Admiral Thrawn (the guy with blue skin and red eyes), and Captain Pelleon (the guy with the mustache) will all be back in the future. So it'll be a while but try not to forget these characters. And you've finally been introduced to Thrawn, one of the greatest characters in all of Star Wars!
Seeing Grievous be as scary as he's *supposed to be* was refreshing as hell. Clone Wars nerfed him to hell and back so as to not contradict anything from the canon and/or still be a kids' show made sense, but it felt crappy for such a badarse character to be a jobber most of the time
Great reaction you 2. I think everyone answered the "why" on Morgan for you in the comments but I will chime in. You will see Morgan for the first time in the Mandalorian season 2 and later in the Ahsoka series. The assassin and Admiral Thrawn are hugely prevalent in Star Wars: Rebels series. Not all witches of Dathomir are nightsisters.... They DO have their own powers and traditions and NO they are not all in one person. The Mountain Clan is another fragment of the great EU Iceberg becoming a long overdue Canon.
Looks like we're going ahead and watching Tales of the Empire before Bad Batch. It's a great series, but I personally like Tales of the Jedi a bit better. But, Tales of the Empire did give us an actual scary General Grievous for the first time in quite a while, which I really loved. He's one of those villains you just love to hate, because he really is just pure evil. I really love that we get to see him from the perspective of someone who isn't a Jedi. Nightsisters can be very powerful, like Mother Talzin, but many of them are essentially just normal people, so someone like Grievous is an absolute terror. And of course, after a time jump into the Imperial era, you get an introduction into one of the most iconic villains in Star Wars that isn't a Force user with Thrawn. We'll see more of Thrawn and Morgan Elsbeth in later shows, but it's going to be interesting seeing you learn more about them with this being your introduction to them. I'm excited, let's go on into the fun facts for today! Starting in episode one, we get introduced to Morgan Elsbeth, one of the Nightsisters, as General Grievous and the droid army is in the process of wiping the Nightsisters out on the order of Count Dooku; this means that this episode is set in the middle of the Clone Wars (in the season 4 episode "Massacre" and a bit after). We get to see her mother, Selena, use Nightsister magick to enchant a pair of sickles (which was pretty neat) to fight, but it unfortunately isn't enough. Morgan is chased by some BX-series commando droids, making their first appearance since Clone Wars season 7, episode 4, "Unfinished Business." Morgan falls unconscious and wakes up in the care of the Mountain Clan, another clan of Dathomiri witches (not to be confused with the Singing Mountain Clan, another witch clan of Dathomir) making their debut; we also see that the tattoos on Morgan's face are apparently linked to a Nightsister spell, since they fade after the source is destroyed. In addition to the BX-series droid commandos, we also get the return of the B1-series battle droids and B2-series super battle droids as well as the Ringneck recon droid (a precursor to/variant of the Imperial Viper probe droid we first see in Empire Strikes Back) and several HMP droid gunships. Moving on to episode 2, we see Morgan pitching a new starfighter design, the TIE/d Defender Multi-Role Starfighter, to a group of Imperial navy officers and an Imperial Moff, Moff Isdain (making his first and, so far, only) appearance in this episode, onboard an Imperial Star Destroyer over Coruscant. She mentions her factory on the planet Corvus, which is the planet she governs that we see her on in her first appearance in the Mandalorian Chapter 13: The Jedi. After Isdain and the other Imperials reject her design, another Imperial officer approaches her. This is Gilad Pellaeon (voiced by Xander Berkely, who also plays him in his live action appearances), a captain in the 96th Task Force of the Imperial Navy under Admiral Thrawn, who has sent him to several meetings in search of talent. After their interaction, we get to see the planet Corvus and its settlement, Calodan, for their first onscreen appearance since The Mandalorian. When Morgan Elsbeth exits her starship (the type of ship as well as the ship's name are still unknown), we see that she is flanked by several HK-87 assassin and gladiator droids (HK standing for hunter-killer) of the same type as the ones we see her use in The Mandalorian. Later, Elsbeth is attacked by Rukh, an assassin in the service of Thrawn, voiced by Warwick Davis (Davis actually started his acting career in Star Wars; he played Wicket, the first Ewok we see in Return of the Jedi, when he was just 11 years old). Rukh is a Noghri, a reptilian species native to the planet Honoghr known for their keen sense of smell and combat prowess. In Legends, the Noghri are fanatically loyal to Darth Vader due to an agreement he made in exchange for the Empire restoring their planet from an ecological disaster that occurred during the Clone Wars when a Lucrehulk-class Core Ship with a cargo of the toxin Trihexalophine1138 crashed onto Honoghr's surface, killing most of its plant life (in reality, the Imperial restoration teams deliberately kept Honoghr poisoned using a hybrid grass called kholm grass that killed off the remaining plant life in order to keep the Noghri bound to the Empire). After a fight between the two, Captain Pellaeon reveals himself before Elsbeth can land a killing blow on Rukh and introduces his superior, Admiral Thrawn, voiced by Lars Mikkelsen (brother of Mads Mikkelsen, who plays Galen Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Thrawn, full name Mitth'raw'nuruodo, is an Admiral of the Imperial Navy and an officer in the Chiss Ascendancy, an aristocratic oligarchical nation that governed Chiss space. The Chiss, which Thrawn is a member of, are a near-human species native to the icy planet Csilla (though Thrawn himself is from the planet Rentor). Most Chiss names were multisyllabic and consisted of three parts, as in Mitth'raw'nuruodo. The first portion identified an individual's family, the second was the given name, and the third indicated other social factors. Many Chiss did opt to use shorthand names, called core names, (e.g. Mit [th'raw'n] uruodo = Thrawn) for the sake of expediency. Thrawn was originally created as an antagonist for the novel "Heir to the Empire," written by author Timothy Zahn and published in 1991. It would end up being the first installment in a series that would end up being known as "Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy." Thrawn is very much a fan favorite character and, while not quite as good as his Legends counterpart, is still a fantastic villain. Well, that's everything I can think of for these episodes. If you're interested, I'd recommend reading the Thrawn trilogy sometime; they're very good books. I'll see you guys next week as we finish Morgan's Tales of the Empire journey and start the next section of the show. See you then 😀
Tales of the empire has the same structure as tales of the jedi: 6 chapters with two different stories. One you know it now, though it is true you'll have to wait a while for morgan elsbeth's story to continue. The other, you'll know soon. Just a hint. You know its main character. By the way, one great detail in the first episode is the other nighsister clan. Both these and morgan, ventress and talzin's clan knew how to use the force in their own way, but this clan rejected the dark side. Sadly, this is the only time they show them on screen.
You need to watch Rebels, Ashoka and rewatch season 2 of the Mandalorian I think The Jedi episode where you see Ashoka the first time and you will see Morgan Elsbeth introduced.

I have a response to your 'hit by a bus' comment. The episode does not explicitly state it, but it is implied that the mountain girls know of the powers. The mountain clan has 'their ways'. We the audience don't know what their ways are until the end. The mountain girls do. They may not be trained or have finished their training, but they know of their ways. You're probably then wondering why the girls would go for the weapons if yhey know of their ways. Because the Nightsisters have their own ways as well. The Nightsisters with their magics and their ways were slaughtered by Grievous. The girls were worried that their ways were not enough to protect them.
To have the proper context for who all these characters are you should have watched at least Rebels, The Mandalorian, BOBF and Ahsoka (the show). Though, perhaps you will have a different view on the series now that you have seen this beforehand. Going to be interesting to see what you think

Morgan Elsbeth was in The Mandalorian S2 Episode 5 (The Jedi) - that was the episode that introduced Ahsoka in live action - if you remember, the mandalorian travels to the planet Corvus (this one in this episode) to find Ahsoka, and ends up helping her overthrow the magistrate (Morgan). Morgan fought Ahsoka in that episode with the same beskar spear she fights with in this one, the same spear Ahsoka then gives to mando. The asian man who seems to be the leader of these people is also the old man in that episode. Thrawn is an iconic villain in Star Wars and you'll see him again.

There’s a video I think you should check out called “The complete life of general grevious” part 1 and part 2. They never really show much about his past, but I promise you will find his story to be an absolute joy ride.
Thanks for the recommendation 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 That Captain Pellaeon mentioned in the Episode has a cameo in The Mandalorian Season Three, Episode Seven. He's also featured in the novel "Thrawn: Treason" the third in the Thrawn's trilogy written by Timothy Zahn.
Although her story was needed in this series it was still worth the effort to see her and Thrawn together
Grievous was SO TERRIFYING......I love it
It will be interesting to see your reactions since you saw this first before mandalorian ahsoka and rebels 😊
We saw Mandalorian but clearly don’t remember much beyond Baby Yoda 😂 (know that’s not his real name but it’s the name in our hearts)
Once you're done with Tales of the Empire, it'll be a while before you see the follow up for this story.
Clone Wars nerfed him to hell and back so as to not contradict anything from the canon and/or still be a kids' show made sense, but it felt crappy for such a badarse character to be a jobber most of the time
"most of the time"
Great reaction you 2. You will enjoy them all as I think Thrawn is one of the best antagonist characters in Star Wars.
Those should have be done in batches of 3 since they didn't mixed the stories this time.
15:45 There he is!!!! My fourth favorite villain of all time! My man Grand Admiral Thrawn!! *No Spoilers* All I could say is that his intelligence makes him extremely dangerous! Other than that, you two will get to know him later on! 🙏🏽💪
Everyone roots for Thrawn he's the best art of Rebels
Not all witches of Dathomir are nightsisters....
They DO have their own powers and traditions and NO they are not all in one person.
The Mountain Clan is another fragment of the great EU Iceberg becoming a long overdue Canon.
This is where the fun begins!!!! 🙏🏽💪
😎🤘🥳
See you then 😀
Yeah we were going to do Bad Batch next but Tales of Empire came out and it was quick so figured we’d knock this out first 🤗
Tales of the empire has the same structure as tales of the jedi: 6 chapters with two different stories.
Have you guys watched Star Wars Rebels, Mandalorian Season 2 or Ahsoka yet? These shows will give you the stories of Morgan and Grand Admiral Thrawn.
They haven’t, only Mandalorian S2 I think!
thrawn may seem like a minor character here, but just wait until you get to rebels, hes going to become a much bigger, and much cooler character!
He's still no one compared to his version in books. That Thrawn is THE Thrawn, Filoni's one is nothing.
You need to watch Rebels, Ashoka and rewatch season 2 of the Mandalorian I think The Jedi episode where you see Ashoka the first time and you will see Morgan Elsbeth introduced.
Yeah a rewatch of Mandalorian would be good. We saw it really before becoming more invested in Star Wars. We didn’t even know who Ahsoka was when watching it 🤗
You two really need to watch Rebels, Mandolorian, and Ahsoka to understand these characters.
We saw Mandalorian but didn’t remember her in it. Remember Ahsoka as it was the first time we saw her and really just the relationship between Baby Yoda and Mando ☺️
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 wife and I love watching your reactions. You two seem to be watching some of our favorite things, and we like hearing your perspectives and seeing your reactions. Keep up the great work!
Btw I love your commentary guys, your thoughts about the shows u watch are entertaining and engaging and I like hearing your views, btw thrawn is my favorite Star Wars. villain XD I like a lot of villains in general but he’s very calm and well “reasonable “ XD
IF I may be so bold, YOU TWO should 100% Check out the ORIGINAL SW Clone wars microseries from 2003, its fully available to watch here on UA-cam, LOVE THE REACTS, KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK! CHEERS! :D
We’ve heard that’s a good showcase for grievous 😅😈
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 TRUST ME, I am a hardcore SW Fan, HE IS TERRIFYING IN THAT, Als SHAGGY Is in it, you'll see, LOVE THE REACTIONS, HOPE YOU HAVEW AN AMAZING WEEKEND! CHEERS! :D
Oh nice u guys are going to love this series 😊❤👍🏻😎 it gets better 😎
😎🤘🤩
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 btw I hope mild pg references and edgy game over/ bad ending reference humor is ok 😂. I try to make it fit in the conversation if possible 😜🤣. My profile picture is an example XD I also do it because I love being different XD
Going to be interesting to see what you think
spoiler alert: ep 3 is played after endor, maybe somedays before mandalorian season 2, if your not watch it...
I loved the OT, liked the prequel trilogy, but hated the sequel trilogy. Any other Star Wars content that you’d recommend?
It really is a shame y'all no nothing about Grievous as a character
If you watched rebels, mando and than ahsoka, you would know who morgan, thrawn or the assassin is, why dont you watch anything in the release order ? You miss a lot
17:28 Understandable, you two seen her before once. She was in season 2 of Mandalorian. She was the character Ahsoka was fighting! 🙏🏽💪
Completely forgot 😂🤗
Will they ever react to the boys?
Problem is that we saw the first two seasons on our own before doing reaction channel. Then we had our season 3 reaction recorded but it’s tough starting a series in the middle of a show for reactions we’ve found. People like to see the whole journey 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 i will wait
No guys you already saw Morgan Elsbeth in the past, in the second season of The Mandalorian, she fought Ahsoka, and then she comes back for the Ashoka series, and Thrawn debuts in Rebels and then he comes back for the Ahsoka series too.
Are you sure they watched the mandalorian? I couldn't find any reactions they did for it beyond the trailers
@@brandonokeeffe1193 Well, if they have reacted to the trailers for seasons 2 and 3, it is because they have seen it on their own, but if I am wrong then I hope their reactions to the series, but I believe that they have seen it.
Why are your doing this and Bad Batch next?
It is next chronologically. I’m really happy that’s what they chose to do next.
@@valathor95 except it, spoils the Ahsoka series, it spoils rebels. this show just adds extra context to the bigger stories. Their first appearance of Thrawn and it’s this instead of on the bridge of the Chimera where he belongs. People have been waiting their whole lives to see this character appear, and they get this?
@@brucechmiel7964 I was more talking about Bad Batch than This, I agree this was an odd choice, however I’m equally interested in seeing them learn about all of that after seeing this, it’s a really unique perspective.
@@valathor95 yeah but the cameos in bad batch are supposed to watched with the context of watching rebels first. At least with Ryloth they had the clone wars to runoff of what they never read the Sith Lords novel. So they really have no context for why certain mother is so damn important. Or to see Cham before he went nuts.
@@brucechmiel7964I don't think it will spoil it, if anything when they get to Rebels and ahsoka, they'll point recognise the characters and be appreciative that they were added into the new show, despite it coming out first.
they'll point at the screen and act like Leonardo DiCaprio in that one meme 😅
The amount of shills in here is absolutely insane lmao. This series bastardizes the philosophy of starwars and how the force works which was laid down in the original starwars trilogy.
Way out of order
