Great guitar solo by Kate's husband Danny McIntosh, who is a phenomenal guitarist. I HIGHLY recommend that you listen to some Kate Bush live and see how incredibly beautiful and powerful her voice still is! Her 2014 series of concerts were called "Before The Dawn" and her live record was released in 2016. I would suggest that you listen to Act I, which consists of the first 7 songs of her shows (staring with Lily, one of the best concert openers of all time, and ending with a killer version of King Of The Mountain), plus her two encores Among Angles and a very emotional version of Cloudbusting in her finale. (She also does the entirety of The Ninth Wave and A Sky Of Honey in Acts II and III - simply amazing). Just an interesting side note, Kate's "Before The Dawn" 22 concerts sold out over 100,000 tickets in less than 15 minuets (a record for London's Hammersmith Apollo). Her award winning shows were highly acclaimed, and Kate, as the genius innovator she is, set new goal posts and standards for concert performance. During the months before the concerts, Kate became the first woman to have 8 albums in the Top 40 charts at the same time (and 3rd behind only Elvis and The Beatles).
hearing Kate laughing always makes the whole world better I would suggest going through all her albums all the way back with tracks you haven't covered yet
This track was fire! Thank you! The next Kate Bush? So much to choose from... I really like "The Red Shoes" from 1993. Kate's highest-charting album in the US at #28, it includes a very low-key collaboration with Prince on "Why Should I Love You?" and the standout tracks "Rubberband Girl" and "Moments of Pleasure".
This thrilling song gives me a shiver of pleasure every time I hear it. What a way to end a song cycle. Perhaps do The Sensual World next? (But with Kate there's no way to make a wrong choice.) And if you are looking for another similarly ambitious (though stylistically different) artist to explore, check out Jane Siberry, particularly her When I Was A Boy album sometime. All the best to you from a new viewer. .
hey inAvee! love your passion for kate bush, she is natural and amazing.i know its an obvious and most famous track of hers but its amazing and changed the landscape for her as an artist here in england. the song -"the man with the child in his eyes" .after dave gilmour of pink floyd heard it and was blown away , he got her a record contract.trust me its beautiful.; )
You mentioned Kate getting them birds to sing on the beat? It is the other way round in this case. Kate was inspired by the blackbird's song of which you see the soundwave displayed in the albumcover. So the composition matched the blackbird's song.
Quite a journey, is Aerial. Now you need to listen to it again, straight through without stopping as it's meant to be. For the next album, I would go to The Dreaming. That is probably her wildest album.
Suggest you listen to disc 2 of this after you've finished from beginning to end with your eyes closed and enjoy the journey next album 50 words for snow based around winter
Hey Vee, I know I've made a couple of requests this month but let me slide one more in. You Want Alchemy, by Kate. It sounds like a song for Aerial but wasn't. You'll like it since you love honey.
I see you've not reacted to "Experiment IV" by Kate Bush: ua-cam.com/video/NTUcoR8_pyE/v-deo.html Great beat, great music, AND a great video, which tells an interesting story, but watch it to the end as things are not as tidied up as might be believed!
