Having had a couple of days to look at the tunnel/hillside, it just didn’t look right. No depth to it so I’ve spent some time adding contours before continuing with the scenics. Does it look better?
My retirement project - Grandads trains! A work in progress consisting of a 5 line layout over 2 levels, complete with turntable, landscaping and various buildings including a mainline station in OO gauge. DCC controlled via Z21.
I’m 2 years into this project so please subscribe and join me as the layout progresses.

Well done looking good
Thank you. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out! 👍
Eine wundervolle Anlage !!! Die Idee mit Karton und Leim ist hervorragend. 😉Spart Gewicht und den Geldbeutel. 🤭 Super gut. 👍👍👍
viele Grüsse aus Hamburg Germany Andreas
Thank you very much 👍👍
yeah that was worth it.
Thank you 👍
I seen another modeler use thinned white glue on the surface and dirt from their yard in a ladies knee high stocking dusted on the area before grass application. The ground has better color due to use of soil.
Thank you. Yes, I must try that method 👍
@@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt the youtuber i learned the method from is @ItsMyRailroad. hes also done work for Model Railroader Magazine. He models in N scale. Layouts looking Nice BTW.
Yes, it was worth it. I Look forward to the back scene being installed.
Thank you. Yes, I’m hoping the backscene will finish it off nicely 👍
Looking good,thanks for sharing 👍

Yeah definitely worth it. Sweet layout.

Definitely well worth the effort, looking spot on. Thanks for sharing enjoyed watching this video, take care regards Barry..
Thanks Barry. Glad you enjoyed it. Really appreciated 👍
That`s looking great a few bushes and tree`s and it will blend nicely with the back scene .👍👍
Thank you. Looking forward to getting the back scene on 👍
Super. It is always good to add a part of yourself, and I usually add distinct or unique details and await their future "discovery" by friends and relatives. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.
Thank you Tracy Mountain Railway. 🙂
That looks good so far. Well done 🤘🏼
Thank you! Cheers!
That looks proper good mate 🍺🍺👍
Thanks 👍
Looks fantastic
Thank you very much 👍
Looking good and developed nicely!
Thank you! Cheers!
A very nice improvement! It's looking better every time! Keep going. Nice to see the channel grow aswell.
Thanks very much 👍
Great work, it does look better, it’s difficult at the best of times to deal with scenery, but even more so when a layout has different track levels alongside each other. You seem to have mastered it though👍
Thank you very much! I’ve spent weeks looking at that area. It was so tight with incline being close to the edge (you never quite have enough room!). I’m hoping the backscene and a bit of imagination will make it look ok…
Looking good I do like those little walls looked quite flexible where did you get them from cheers Al
Thanks Al. They are very flexible. Laser cut foam. I saw someone using them on UA-cam about a year ago so purchased some. They are from Osbourne Models. Quite expensive at £16 for 7 lengths which is a bout 1.5m but they are really easy to use 👍
Looks very good! How did you make the little wall near the grass?
Hi. I purchased them from a model shop in the UK called Osborn Models.
Hello where did you get the stone walling please?
Hi. I got the walling from osbornsmodels.com. It’s called Arch Laser flexible Cotswold sone walling.
What is that little gadget you are using to spread that grass?
Hi. It’s a static grass applicator. I searched on eBay and this one seemed to be a really reasonable price 😂
Hi. Just catching up with your channel. What walling have you used here?
Hi. It's called Arch Laser flexible Cotswold stone walling. I got it from a model shop online called Osbornsmodels.com. 👍
@@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt excellent thank you.
Nicely done. Did you make those walls or purchase them? Thanks for sharing.
Bought them I think. Looks like a Javis(British Manufacturer) product...
Thank you. They were purchased from a model shop in the UK - Osborn Models.

Thank you. I’ve only just plucked up courage to start speaking!
