I went back to check your other video and it looks like the parts you need are mounted to the tail section. Right hand side of bike on the side of tail subframe there's a heat sink looking part. That I believe is your pulser and check the other side of the frame same location for your control box.
just a tip. Always install wrist pin circlip with the opening at the top or bottom. If the opening is on the side it's possible for the up and down piston motion to close the gap and it will fall out destroying your cylinder. ...ask me how I know.
I buy ebay parts all the time. Yea there is that i might get screwed factor, but i've always gotten what i paid for. Just dont buy large neodymium magnets, apparently they stick to the US postage machines.
for something of this era make sure the ignitor & coils are bolted to the engine/frame. both will use that mounting as an earth. if it was me, I'd remove all the non-engine stuff from the loom/wiring harness.
they often mount ignition module and electrical away from the engine so try looking by the rear of the frame or under the support bar on either side it might be there.
lol yup no ignition coils no start =D They're just mini transformers, look for a junkyard or ebay. If you can find coils, they almost never really go bad, i know on my cb550 rebuild it was the points condensers that were bad and not giving spark
bro just buy the ebay stuff if it doesn't work just return it. I buy motorcycle electronics all the time and I haven't had a problem. try searching by location you might be able to find a seller near you so it wont take so long for shipping.
how did you time it? I didn't see you remove the sight plug on the left cover to access the timing marks. if you were going by marks you made on the chain, it could have slipped on the crank sprocket while you were turning the crank to install pistons and cylinders. if its off, you'll have a bad day when you try to crank it. if you did check off camera, then I apologize, not hating, just not wanting you to have more problems. have a great day.
Always buy new rings and hone the cylinders. Or you will or might end up with oil burning right away. I know someone in real life that happened to him. He got new rings and dealer said that the cylinders got honed. Something i think isn't true at all. You will not end up with burning oil right away. Mine doesn't burn and only have to add some oil after 2000~2500km and that's when the oil level is half between L and F mark.
Those cylinders should be honed. It's a wire flimsy brush bit that'll create criss cross hairline scratches on them walls. I just started watching this vid. unpause
Robert Dumesnil a lot of bikes have resistors in the key switch as a safety. it limits the voltage and the computer now's the switch hasn't been bypassed. though wiring in the resistor with a new switch or toggle switch will work.
Hey, I would buy from eBay. Ebay is pretty reliable in getting your money back. If it doesn't work, unless they said no refunds, they must take it back, or eBay will take action to destroy them.
I have the same problem with a 81 Honda CBR 600. missing a few electrical parts for it it run. but only have 25 in the bike so I don't care if I can or can't find parts
Mate the pulse coils are the little black buggers under the right side cover they are a magnetic signal pickup for the ignition control unit. The pickups (Right side cover) have a 6 pin connector that will plug into the ignition control unit and from there it will send a pulse to the left and right coils. All you need for this is the control unit and I'm sure you can find one second hand on ebay (Ill add a link to one I found below) www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-GS500-97-CDI-ECU-BLACK-BOX-FROM-A-RUNNING-BIKE-/162385895339?hash=item25cef41fab:g:p68AAOSwo4pYFfLO&vxp=mtr
This is whats up!!.. Ive been waiting to see this video and im glad to see you have gotten this far with it. Dont give up. Keep on going. Are you talking about needing the ignition switch like where the key goes?

Eric Allen that is correct
The box on the right side is the current regulator for the charging system
OUTSTANDING.LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING IT RUN.
As a new subscriber to your channel I just want to say how much I love your content. Honest and clear content. Keep up the great work!
always put NEW rings in thats a given
This world needs more people like this who get stuck in. :)

glad u got it back together . thanks for taking my sugestion with the diesel fuel.
Apply graphite oil on all gaskets so that the next time you disassemble your engine the gaskets won't rip a part and can be reused!
Electronics are actually quite simple to fix when they die.
for something of this era make sure the ignitor & coils are bolted to the engine/frame. both will use that mounting as an earth.
if it was me, I'd remove all the non-engine stuff from the loom/wiring harness.
chris. there is four wires conected to the ignitin just conect the wires together .
do u need parts for the yamaha dt 175? i have some and i could sell them cheap
Remember to use only motorcycle oil for this. regular car oil could mess with the wet clutch. I learned the hard way.
But you can actually use heavy duty diesel oil
RideSouthWest yeah I did as well
I only use the proper weight of oil. I heard that non detergent oils can be used.
yeah always use the proper weight. Diesel oils only have more detergents to clean the dirtier engines.
You still have the shock absorber and all its mount? Can you give it to me? Really need it
they often mount ignition module and electrical away from the engine so try looking by the rear of the frame or under the support bar on either side it might be there.
good luck with those parts bro! cant wait to see more!
did u time it?

Your like 70% to getting that Suzuki running man !! Don't give up
Your on the right track

ebay and junkyards are your best bet. I found alot of my gs500 parts from europe through ebay
I hope you got the timing chain right.

I have watched all your videos.
Don't worry what the naysayers comment on(even me). We wouldn't be here if we didn't like watching your adventures.
Man you should just ask your subs if they can help track down those parts. I'm sure one of us either has them, or can find them. Just gotta ask :)
Word as advise don't use your hand as a hammer a mechanic told me not to because he had to get tendon surgery, use a rubber mallet
How do you get your money to buy stuff is it from you tube or do you do stuff for money
lol, like the moose in family guy , he does " stuff " for money
😂
Great vid!
It would be really hard for me not to have put new rings in there. Otherwise, great job!

i have a hole parts gx500 (same model n year) that has all the stuff u need. butits all the way in sweden.....
Do u still have parts
You can always wire in a new key in place of the one that you don't have.
Robert Dumesnil a lot of bikes have resistors in the key switch as a safety. it limits the voltage and the computer now's the switch hasn't been bypassed. though wiring in the resistor with a new switch or toggle switch will work.
Great job should of bought the new rings tho and that thing you looking for check it should be at the back of the bikes attached to the frame
If you don't care about the ignition cylinder I guess you could jam a flat head screwdriver into the ignition and just turn it over like a key?

Hey you can just find the ignition numbers for a new key

with out the frame you dont have negative from the engine to the sparkplug coil. this is your problem.
go to a motorcycle salvage yard
buen video
I need a carburetor for the same bike 95 gs500
I think the hone fell apart because you had it going backwards
If I was you I'd hone rhe cylinders just to be on the safe side since you didn't add new rings
put it on the green go kart rather B welding
👊👊👊👊 Blood will make it run faster!!! 😂😂😂😂
Check partzilla
