  • You know, I take alot of flack for the Casio synthesizers so I thought it might be a good thing to explain my position. Here it is... Nostalgia, affordability and accessibility.
    When I was a little kid. I didn't sit around dreaming of buying a Jupiter 8 or an OB-12. My dream was to buy a Casio PL5 with the barcode reader. I used to see it in the department store display case and dream about all the great music that I could make with it. My grandmother (R.I.P.) took notice and eventually bought me one for my birthday.
    I've got to think that there are millions of people throughout the world just like me. I will be forever thankful to the Casio company for figuring out a way to make electronic instruments affordable to all of the poor dreamers out there.
    As I grew older, I graduated to more expensive instruments made by the "pro" brands. Most of those instruments have died on me but my Casio's are still running just fine.
    Here's to all the kids out there, throughout the world who are making their dreams happen on a Casio synthesizer. May your instrument serve you well.

    The transpose function works with the main voice and the bass/chords simultaneously. The can shift the key of whatever you are playing by an interval, completely on the fly. It's a nice feature for such an old keyboard.

    Can you explain a little more about about the transpose function... I am curious if you can get it to transpose down a step...and if the transpose works with the bass/chords or just with the main voice.

    Just picked one up for $5 at a thrift store. No power supply though... Any ideas to where I can find one?

      This is a very similar character to the sound that the older MT series keyboards have

    They haven't made them since like 1980 so you'd have to buy it used. There's no set price for one

    Hi! Does the 405 have the same sounds as the 202?

    • @solidstatecollective
      @solidstatecollective  3 роки тому

      Although alot of the original ct series have the same / similar sounds I don't believe that the 202 does. Someone else please chime in. It's been a while since I have owned a 202.

      @@solidstatecollective thanks for your answer. I had a 202 and sold it but now I regret! I'm searching and I've found an affordable 405 and I'd like to have the same sounds as the 202. Let's see if someone can give some light on it.

      pocketadam Sorry - the 701 is cool but the 405 is the best IMO.

      pocketadam I second that. I thought the 701 had the same sounds as the 405 and I was so wrong
