  • I think Shin-Kiba is a better route via Yurakucho Subway to get to Tokyo Disneyland for most people. It’s only a 2 station ride to Maihama and Tokyo Disney Resorts! The station plays a jingle on arrival 🤣 gota love the experience.
How to get to Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea:
Take the Yurakucho Line (metro) to Shin-Kiba (last stop) and change to JR MUSASHINO Line. It’s about 7 minutes, 2 stops.
Hou can also take the line from Tokyo Station but it’s a deep underground trip.

Fun fact: Although he rode the Musashino Line train in the video, the actual train route that goes from Toyko to Maihama is the Keiyo Line (the red line). It’s just that the Musashino Line runs through-service on a portion of the Keiyo Line before it branches off into its own designated route. So technically, the train he rides is still the Keiyo Line until after it passes Ichikawashiohama station.
Additionally, Disney songs are used as the departure melodies at Maihama station as mentioned in the video. The usual default songs used at the station are It’s A Small World and Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah but the melodies are often changed to different songs for a limited time. The songs currently in use are I See the Light from Tangled (heard in the video at 7:21) and Let it Go, which is played on the platform of the train going in the opposite direction.

Tokyo Disneyland opened April 15, 1983. Kasai Rinkai Park opened June 1, 1989.

Shin-Kiba is mostly a warehouse district but besides as a stop between Tokyo and Disneyland, there's one very specific reason to go there even as a tourist: Shin-Kiba 1st Ring arena, which holds a lot of wrestling events for example. It's one of my favourite venues, basically a warehouse with space for couple of hundred people and that's it. Intimate is the word often described the place.

As well as the shopping centre, there is one other big thing you can do at Maihama Station without paying the exorbitant Disney entry fees: you can ride the Disney Monorail. Unlike most Disney parks, the monorail is outside the Disney park instead of inside it. Officially called the Disney Resort Line, it does a one-way loop from Gateway Resort Station (just outside Maihama Station) around Disney and Disney Sea resorts, back to Gateway Resort, every 6 minutes from 06:30 to 23:30 every day. Trip takes 12 minutes and costs ¥300 (¥150 for under 12's). You can even use Suica/Pasmo IC cards to ride it.

Tokyo Disneyland is an absolute bargain compared to U.S. Disney parks - around 1/3 of the price. The Tokyo Disney parks are far better maintained and operated on top of the far better price.

This was really cool! We finally got to see NY, and rode their trains into Manhattan..it was a neat experience 😊 but I think the one to Tokyo Disneyland is going to be a super experience!! It’s so clean and looks fun, like a ride at Disneyland itself! That’s the magic of Japan 😊❤

7:21 / 12:18 Anybody a fan of “Tangled”? 😊 As someone who watched that film a few times, I so pleased that the movie’s song made it as a platform jingle ❤

That suspended monorail in Chiba is worth the trip from Costco. It’s 4 stops away from Makuhari.

Do they have a $1.50 hot dog and soda at that Costco? That would be interesting to see what they sell there.
