Ultimo D hell Yeah. Even if they don't do the defiant or voyager, they gotta have the enterprise d. Klingon bird of prey and a Romulan warbird or something would be sweet too. They could use the same overlay to translate the buttons that they did with the original enterprise bridge. If they have all that I think I'm buying this, going into VR, and never coming back out to real life lol.

Yes. Galaxy class is a minimum I think.

The TNG era stuff should be marginally easier too, since it's basically 99% touchscreen panel displays.
It even has dedicated displays for the captain (and the two executive officer positions), which would help out a bit. (though I think in practice they're too small to be readable in VR, given my experience with VR headsets.)
Of course the Primary stations on a Galaxy class are helm, tactical and ops, and engineering is a minor optional station (alongside the two science stations and environmental controls)
But that's not a major disaster since ops is officially a resource management and allocation control position, so giving it the engineering functions isn't too far removed from what was actually going on.
Tactical directly behind the captain, and Ops and helm control in front. (for most of the series ops was on the left, but in a few early episodes it was the other way around)
Of course, to be pedantic about things, OPS would seem to be about managing the resources that are available in an immediate sense...
While the engineer would be coordinating repairs, monitoring system performance and... Probably dealing with any attempts to run systems outside their usual limits. (such as running the warp core at 125% output or something.)
But that doesn't really matter too much. We can just use OPS and ignore the subtleties as to what engineering does vs Ops...
KuraIthys if they could add a 5th spot that would solve the galaxy class issue. OPs, helm, engineering, tactical, and captain. Or automate one but I'm sure they can do it somehow. Hopefully they will, even if it's dlc shortly after release.

Their previous VR games like Eagle Flight and Werewolves Within have been decent. Hopefully they learnt enough to make this one worth the wait.
Where is the Enterprise D?? Come on you have to have Enterprise D and Voyager those are the most popular ships after the original TSO ship. Kirk was great but there is nobody in Star trek like Picard!!!!!!!
There also needs to be a TMP era Set. Mind you, there were different iterations of that, in each movie, so to pick just one, I'd go with the Bridge set from Undiscovered Country.
They did a good job recreating the OG Enterprise. The only thing they didn't include was the retractable viewscreen that helm has on the left side of the table.

Who's getting it in ps vr?
about 75% of players, lets face it, there are more PSVR's then there are rifts & vives combined, rift & vive NEEDED it to be cross platform or they'd have far too long wait times finding other ppl to co-op with.

Fix bugs with Quest two make new dlcs and fix the 39% hole damage on the next gen ship. Then the game would be even better and you can make more money. Now I could do this myself but I don’t have access to files nor do I own the as this is not my game those are my suggestions too make the game better
Does anyone know if they will be adding more stations/roles in the future? For example, Science and Communications? I could see Science probing deeply for enemy weaknesses or other sort of "odd readings" that could indicate cloaked ships or unknown propulsion emissions. The Communications role might have to search for signals or, yes, possible enemy _communications_ that might indicate the presence of nearby ships and establish links so that the captain can do their "captain thing" when conversing with others. I'm sure that there might be some overlap with other roles/stations but that would be fine considering that you might not have enough people to fill all of the available roles. Anyway, I can't wait to play this game! :)
I can't imagine what games like this will be like in the future. Perhaps they will have actual security personnel or even marines on board who will be there to help repel boarders, a la your classic FPS games. Just imagine having to defend the bridge from hostile beam-ins! Do you keep trying to get those phasers back online or do you grab your own phaser and start shooting! :P How crazy would _that_ be!? :D
Imagine having your character take damage and finding themselves incapacitated. Then others would have to jump from station to station like they often did on the various TV shows. Want to go down with the ship? Have your captain character grab the helm after everyone has been killed and drive the ship into the enemy vessel, a la the beginning of the first JJ Star Trek movie. :) Yeah, yeah. I know we're still a long way off from that sort of thing but it's nice to dream! ;)
I am still trying to figure out how this is real... I got emotional just seeing the Enterprise D. I need to get VR now.

NJP695 That's my only issue. Ubisoft is not dependable. No doubt there will be severe server issues at launch. A bunch of bugs and graphical glitches. As long as there is at least some form of single player (offline) I could cope. Learn the controls and stuff. Unfortunately we all know it's going to be a rocky launch. It's Ubisofts MO.
Ultimo D well ultimately it'll be a rocky launch because it's VR and that's not as ubiquitous as a game console/PC gaming rig; as for the Ubisoft related issues, I tend to agree but we'll just have to see when they finally deliver

Why isn't the game being release till the 31th on the PC?
Is Space on a flat plane? Can you maneuver the ship in 3d space? All the images I've seen so far suggest its one of those flat surface space games which I hate. This will directly affect if I buy the game, could anyone tell me?

I'm still just waiting for actually good VR games made by AAA studios, to boost VR potential and make it real for everyone.
I honestly think that this time the VR is here to stay, we finally have the technology, but it's still too expensive and hasn't really received great games to begin with.
wait until farpoint comes out, the gun controller that comes out with that game should open possibilities for VR games from AAA, besides the move controllers are terrible as you cant have your back to the camera even though the headset is designed for 360
That's why the HTC Vive is better. It also has better games. PS VR fails because it's not room scale, terrible controllers + expensive underwhelming games.

Why do you even need a Captain? On film you see the Captain telling the crew what to do. On UA-cam you see the crew telling each other what they're doing. They learn how to do their jobs and cooperate best without a big daddy figurehead holding their hands and spoonfeeding them drips of information.
Get rid of the Captain, just turn him into an NPC and let the players access the information they need without having to pretend they're on TV.
This is gonna flop so hard. VR doesn't have the playerbase to support shooters let alone this niche stuff (I am a Star Trek fan).

lmao NOPE!!!! For Honor is a mess, Wild Lands is mediocre at best, Watch Dogs 2 was "eh", and the division has never worked properly. Now you expect me to believe you can optimize a VR game when your last AAA console games have been over hyped but under performed. NOPE!!!!
Also you forgot to mention Steep, wich is really good if you are into that kind of games, and Siege, wich at this point is already over 1 year old, but still going strong with content and community. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ive played all those games as well. i've got 45 days of play time logged in the division. my oppinion doesnt stem from hate, but disappointment. i was a big ubisoft supporter but the launch of their games havent matched the hype build up imo. however i play on ps4 so our expierience may differ.
bottom line is Ubisoft needs to wake up n smell the coffee. games need to optimized properly, live up to pre-launch hype, and micro trans need to not be a cash grab. idk if it's cuz Vivendi has been trying to do a Hostile Take Over of Ubisoft stock, but these business practices need to stop. imo
