Also, makes it so that it would contain the Aliens better. Allow them to hunt, but not endanger the rest of the world as much. They don't want to spoil their favorite hunting grounds.

Regardless of the film’s overall quality, Sa’naa Lathan is one of the best and most competent female protagonists we’ve ever gotten. She was smart, active, beautiful and made rational decisions. I really liked that she was genuinely concerned about the team’s safety and them not being prepared. Most protagonists would’ve just told the team to suck it up. Also, the final team up with her and the Predator was what the film should’ve been in its entirety lol.

When homeboy at the beginning told everyone about his kids, he had waiting for him back at home, he may as well have just hung a sign around his neck saying "dead man walking." @taags And then he has to go home to his family in a possible sequel and have to lean on them coming to grips with everything that happened. Maybe it drives a rift in their marriage. They become distant from their children due to PTSD and survivors guilt. Kind of like they did with Ripley in Aliens, but take it a step further with the family actually being alive

Actor is Lance Henriksen. He was in Aliens as Bishop th android, and Alien³ as Bishop and Bishop's designer, Michael Bishop Weyland. So yes, this is his 3rd Alien film. And in this separate continuity, the ancestor of his character in Alien³.

And although AVP is technically separate, you can still merge them as far as the Weylands go (he is Charles Bishop Weyland here, while Guy Pearce is Peter Weyland in Prometheus). Charles would just be an older relative (Peter would be approx. 25 years old during AVP).

*Interesting bits about the movie and some answers for Aaron:*
These three predators have been given names -- Chopper (1st to die) he specializes in bladed weapons, Celtic (the big one) he specializes in close combat and seems to be the lead on this hunt, and Scar (the final one) he seems to be going down the path called "disc master" where they specialize in throwing weapons.
The Alien with the net print has been named Grid (for obvious reasons lol)
Aaron's question about the Pyramid moving -- The idea from what I remember is that it ups the challenge for the Predators so they can't just memorize the layout.
Aaron's question about how Lex has the Alien head -- Scar just cut off its exoskeleton so there was presumably no blood in it.

FYI, The predators do not "rage quit" a bad Xenomorph Hunt... they know the consequences of an uncontrolled infestation, and the ONLY answer:
"Let's nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure"
Xenomorphs have always been around. The Yaujta Encounter xenomorphs thousands of years ago and said "Hey, this is cool. Let's use these for our adulthood ritual hunts."
    The rules of this hunt:
    1. Hunt something that can hunt you unaugmented.
    2. Capture the flag rules, get the guns to earn the ability to use them.
    3. Battle royale, survive to escape the labyrinth with your prize.
This is the Predators sending their teenagers to a Dave 'n Buster's + Laser tag.
David did not create the alien. He caused one outbreak out of many by unlocking the gun cabinet.
Yes the original comic series should have been adapted, not this.

I love the idea that the mark is the sign if a predator becoming an adult.
So that means that the ones Arnold and Danny beat in the other films were the predator version of 16 year Olds out on a deer hunt.

    • @johannesbowers7467
      @johannesbowers7467 Місяць тому +8

@@christopherkowalczyk4405 the "Mark of a Blooded Warrior" is used to signify one who has hunted "the most dangerous game". Youths are apprenticed to Huntmasters who arrange trials. Getting to test yourself against the "Ameda-ha" (the "hard meat", aka Xenos) is a mark of distinction. The Marking with a huntmaster's mark is a badge of honor.
Humans are rising in their estimation as opponents as they become more capable of killing Yaujta. They can count equal or above Xenos in some circles, with the right MC energy prey.
There are many factions and sub-cults in Yaujta culture, and different meanings to acts of honor and both liberal and conservative interpretations of The Code of the Hunt.

    Celtic, Scar, Chopper
    Celtic was a Young Blood
who, in 2004, travelled to Earth with his brothers Scar and Chopper to undertake an initiation Hunt in an ancient Predator pyramid beneath the ice on Bouvet Island. In stalking and killing prey, they hoped to become Blooded Yautja. Although each of the Predators was a relatively inexperienced juvenile, Celtic was the oldest of the three brothers and acted as the leader of the group. During the ritual hunt, he killed at least one human and engaged the Xenomorph Grid in single combat. However, despite initially having the upper-hand, his overconfidence ultimately got the better of him and he was killed by the Drone. As a result, Celtic failed to slay any aliens and thus never became Blooded.

The Predator (just gonna call it Predator 4) is set "present day" in 2018. Predators (Predator 3) is supposedly said to be set after Predator 4 by 4's filmmakers. But a lot of people think 3 is simply set when that film came out (2010), so Predator 3 is the only one with a flexible setting.
It was kinda disappointing that 4 was set in 2018 in LA because it basically breaks the fan theory of merging a "Ridleyverse" together with the P, AVP, A & Blade Runner universes (as Blade Runner is set in 2019, and Predator 4's LA is clearly not a year away from looking like BR's LA). It was never going to be official, but it was a fun idea while it lasted.

I would almost rather take the flood from Halo than deal with a xenomorph infestation. Considering there's multiple comics about Earth falling because of these things, it is most definitely necessary to wipe them out and take everything with them if you have to. There are entire worlds in the comics that are nests for the xenomorphs

Lead actress Sanaa Lathan is also in the first Blade film. This has the same director as the original Mortal Kombat and most of the Resident Evil films. Cliffhanger was released in 1993, the same year as Demolition Man. The predators in this are "Yougbloods", which is the rank for first time hunters. The predator at the end is an "Elder", one who has been on many successful hunts, including a xenomorph queen
