And although AVP is technically separate, you can still merge them as far as the Weylands go (he is Charles Bishop Weyland here, while Guy Pearce is Peter Weyland in Prometheus). Charles would just be an older relative (Peter would be approx. 25 years old during AVP).
Also, he was James Cameron's initial choice for the role of the terminator :P luckily they switched to Arnold, but still gave him a part in the movie. To this day, Henriksen is the only actor whose characters got killed by the Terminator, the Alien AND the Predator.
The main criticism I've got is trying to follow all the characters when they got split up. Second: there were three preds going through the ritual. They should have been more distinct so we could follow them.

@@vladyvhv9579 people are Wack because that's my favorite Predator movie after the Original & I saw the Original in the theater the first night it came out.
Originally, Roland Emmerich, Director of Independence Day and GODZILLA was going to make this film as far back as 1997, the same year ALIEN: Resurrection was released. He even wanted Stan Winston to come back to the franchise by making new Alien and Predator make-up and character effects, which would have been awesome, but the film got stuck in development hell for 7 years.
One of my favorite Sci Fi Action Adventure Horror Thriller Films from the ALIEN and PREDATOR franchise! It's the most expensive film from both series, $75 million dollars. It made $178 million dollars at the box office. Originally Sigourney Weaver was asked if she would star in the film, but thought that a crossover was "a terrible idea, it would never work, you can't put two of the most fearsome extraterrestrials on the big screen together!"
We just hit the 20 year anniversary of this movie (YES I can’t fucking believe it either🤯) and it still holds up. Are there problems with it? Yes. Should it have been R rated? Yes. But it’s still so much damn fun.
People hate on the the next film, Alien Vs Predator: Requiem, but I like it quite a bit. The the human characters pretty much suck but like ya’ll said in this reaction, we don’t watch these movies for the humans, we watch it for the monster fighting action! And I like that the sequel is rated R like the rest of both franchises.
Really underrated movie! The first fight scene between one xenomorph and two predators is one of the greatest moments in the whole franchise! Well made
Also, for the Predator species the hunt is a right of passage for the younger ones, while also recognizing and appreciating another species that's good at killing. Which kind of explains the ending of predator 2, The big predator at the end that gave Danny Glover that ancient gun respected him even though Danny just killed his son. But it was seen as an honorable death.
Celtic, Scar, Chopper Celtic was a Young Blood who, in 2004, travelled to Earth with his brothers Scar and Chopper to undertake an initiation Hunt in an ancient Predator pyramid beneath the ice on Bouvet Island. In stalking and killing prey, they hoped to become Blooded Yautja. During the ritual hunt, he killed at least one human and engaged the Xenomorph Grid in single combat. However, despite initially having the upper-hand, his overconfidence ultimately got the better of him and he was killed by the Drone. As a result, Celtic failed to slay any aliens and thus never became Blooded.
7:56 😂😂 I'll say it now, yes I'm pedantic... even if I'm often wrong myself. But as this is Antarctica, those are technically the southern lights - or aurora australis.
Sanaa Lathan was also in another film with Wesley Snipes (Blade) called Disappearing Acts (2000), good movie came out a few years after the first Blade.
There have been a few instances of humans participating in Yautja hunts. Some have even become members of their culture. Just goes to show that they not only see humans as a worthy challenge, but also as potentially worthy allies
The Predator (just gonna call it Predator 4) is set "present day" in 2018. Predators (Predator 3) is supposedly said to be set after Predator 4 by 4's filmmakers. But a lot of people think 3 is simply set when that film came out (2010), so Predator 3 is the only one with a flexible setting. It was kinda disappointing that 4 was set in 2018 in LA because it basically breaks the fan theory of merging a "Ridleyverse" together with the P, AVP, A & Blade Runner universes (as Blade Runner is set in 2019, and Predator 4's LA is clearly not a year away from looking like BR's LA). It was never going to be official, but it was a fun idea while it lasted.
@@tiagoalves2056 Predator 2 is 10 years after Predator 1. So, just going by her reference to the first one, Predator 3 could theoretically still be set sometime after 1 but before 2. But most think it is after (if anything, keeps things simple).
I remember the director of this movie saying his predators are "elites" but 2 of them got merked from a single xenomorph lol they are not elites, sir. Now the Wolf Predator from AVP II, now THAT is an Elite Yautja.
39:00 The fact you don't see wiping out a civilization as necessary to keep the aliens from spreading is hilarious and shows y'all haven't really been paying attention. I would almost rather take the flood from Halo than deal with a xenomorph infestation. Considering there's multiple comics about Earth falling because of these things, it is most definitely necessary to wipe them out and take everything with them if you have to. There are entire worlds in the comics that are nests for the xenomorphs
LORD willing, it's not right, but also, as a devout Christian, it seems pretty obvious to me in that example the aliens seemed to likely maybe have killed everyone, so how much is there to wipe out really?
25:10 If you liked that, you will LOVE Navarro's facehugging in Alien - Romulus. I guarantee you will not be okay -- I can already hear Tara mumbling _"No, no, I don't want it, I don't want it ...."_ 😂
Cliffhanger came out in 1993. It's wild that you can't tell the difference between Sanaa Lathan and Thandie Newton. Other than then bring light skin actresses they have nothing else on common. Lol!
Not only an American mistake, because myself and everyone I know can tell the difference. But the same way so many people doing reactions (infuriatingly) have face blindness, I think there's some part of them that can't perceive specific accents.
@@kayshinae9023I think the face blindness, come from watching so many films in short periods. I think their attention isn't always there or that part of their brain is disengaged.
The Visuals of this film for me was top tier when it came out, still looks good today. I do like this film but dont want it canon to Alien franchise. But I'm good with Alt Tales being told
Pro-tip: Don't try to make the timelines make sense in the Aliens/Predators movies. Continuity was never considered during development. This was all before the concept of cinematic universes. None of it will make sense and it'll just frustrate. Just treat each movie as it's own movie.
So when it comes to the xenomorphs, any bipedal facehugger attaches to will lead to a warrior or drone, but if a facehugger attached to any four legged animal will result in a runner of any variety depending on the animal
This was loosely adapted from the comics and videogames of the same name. I recommend watching the rest of the Predator films and Allen: Romulus after watching the sequel to this. Lead actress Sanaa Lathan is also in the first Blade film. This has the same director as the original Mortal Kombat and most of the Resident Evil films. Cliffhanger was released in 1993, the same year as Demolition Man. The predators in this are "Yougbloods", which is the rank for first time hunters. The predator at the end is an "Elder", one who has been on many successful hunts, including a xenomorph queen
Tara doesn't get to talk about age-the Cliffhanger movie was made in 1993! If she doesn't learn from history, she doesn't get to talk trash about history...
David didn't create the Aliens, he figured out a way to make it like that but they already existed as we can see their sculptures already in Prometheus
He’s awesome- I remember him from Aliens movies & Pumkinhead- love the sfx in that movie think it was Stan Winston..? Such a wicked practical creature design🙌🏼🎃😜
The Weyland character was the android in Aliens, and the Weyland scientistbi Alien 3 ( the prison) who came to withdraw the alien out of Ripley's chest for scientific study.
Should be noted the predators here are young, these they are a bit easier to die as they lack expeirnce. This is yet another testing ground, but this time a temple. A right of passage. -edit- FOrgot they mention it in the movie.

I think Romulus is in between Alien and Aliens...I think. Lol
Predators is after Predator 2 because the girl in the movie mentioned the events of the first Predator of 1987 later in the movie
@@tiagoalves2056 Predator 2 is 10 years after Predator 1. So, just going by her reference to the first one, Predator 3 could theoretically still be set sometime after 1 but before 2. But most think it is after (if anything, keeps things simple).
They weren't killing the queen. They were melting the chains with acid blood.
You’d think that would be obvious, but not when it comes to this lot!
Sanaa and Thandie look nothing alike. She needs to watch them back to back.
This movie is set in 2004 and you two are trying to guess who the android is 😂😂😂😂
Cmon guys, don’t overthink this silly action movie
The Earth War series is brutal.
LORD willing, it's not right, but also, as a devout Christian, it seems pretty obvious to me in that example the aliens seemed to likely maybe have killed everyone, so how much is there to wipe out really?
They talk to much and don't pay attention. I absolutely hate whether these 3 react together. If like watching 2 15 year olds
Nah I'd definitely rather have a xeno infestation over the Flood or Necromorphs those 2 are far worse
Now you know Sanaa Lathan looks nothing like Thandie
She said the eyes
25:10 If you liked that, you will LOVE Navarro's facehugging in Alien - Romulus. I guarantee you will not be okay -- I can already hear Tara mumbling _"No, no, I don't want it, I don't want it ...."_ 😂
My most rewatched out of both series is Aliens and AVP. The others were mostly good for watching once or twice.
35:38 Aaron 😂😂
And they left it in post edit
We said it at the same time!
Cliffhanger came out in 1993.
It's wild that you can't tell the difference between Sanaa Lathan and Thandie Newton. Other than then bring light skin actresses they have nothing else on common. Lol!
Americans! He's Scottish not irish ! Lol still love you❤❤❤❤
Not only an American mistake, because myself and everyone I know can tell the difference.
Bishop in Allens is supposed to be modeled after Weyland.
Pro-tip: Don't try to make the timelines make sense in the Aliens/Predators movies. Continuity was never considered during development. This was all before the concept of cinematic universes. None of it will make sense and it'll just frustrate. Just treat each movie as it's own movie.
One of my favourite movie's of the franchise. Pure popcorn fun.
That’s Sanaa Lathan, iconic actor!
This doesn’t really fit into the lore but it’s still fun. The second AVP is 90% darkness you can’t really see if it’s a good film or not😂💀
Sucks too because the practical effects do look good when you can see them in AVPR.
Even funnier is there is a cut on youtube where someone has it on 300% brightness and you can bearly see what is going on.
So when it comes to the xenomorphs, any bipedal facehugger attaches to will lead to a warrior or drone, but if a facehugger attached to any four legged animal will result in a runner of any variety depending on the animal
The actor you can’t remember played Bishop, the android, in Aliens
This was the theatrical cut. Should have watched the unrated cut.
If you guys watch AvP Requiem, better watch the unrated version because 🐺 is such a cool predator.
And the Predalien aka Chet is also cool. It's a shame they were introduced in such a bad film.
I can't see shit in that movie
@@nielcosme Yep, too dark.
And turn the brightness way, way up.
Yes -- if you do tackle *AvP: Requiem,* go for the full experience. Unrated is the only way.
7:51 northern lights?.... anyone gonna remind him know they are in Antarctica? 😂
fair enough. the south pole has its own version though
@@kuuyaTJ aurora australis is the southern lights
heh, yeah… you don’t get much less northern than these lights :D
Lance Henriksen as Bishop in Aliens and here as Charles Bishop Weyland 😊
In Alien 3, depending on the version. The facehugger impregnated a dog in one version and a cow in the other version.
OMG ..he's Bishop from aliens
Sanaa snd newton look zero alike lol.
Your opinions are something else
Tara: its really really old it was made in like... the 80's
Me (born in the 80s): 😅😢
Tara doesn't get to talk about age-the Cliffhanger movie was made in 1993! If she doesn't learn from history, she doesn't get to talk trash about history...
Me( born in 79)
Me: Watching the original *Alien* in High School.
@@alyxgriffen5073 You watching this 6ft under ground, how?
Hell... me born in '65!
David didn't create the Aliens, he figured out a way to make it like that but they already existed as we can see their sculptures already in Prometheus
“Look at you rolling down the stairs” 😂 this movie was fun to watch in theatres, can’t believe it’s been 20 years.
35:35 lmfao, buddy forgot he wasn't just watching this at home
I’m surprised they left that in. And how Tara didn’t even react.
Lmao that’s how you can tell they real ✊🏽😂
I had to go back and rewatch , his reaction was perfect lol
Best reaction 😂
That was hilarious 😭😭😭😭
Lance Henriksen is great, I knew him best from X-Files and Millennium.
Clicked as fast as i could gooooooooood morninnnng rejects 🤩
Antarctica has strict rules of visit. It’s nearly impossible to film there often.
i watched this when it came out (i was 11) and thought it was so fun. still do!
Lance Heinrichson and yes he was also the Bishop androids in aliens and alien 3. A huge actor in the 80's and 90's
nice that You left the N... in the Edit , just fits and his recognition of what he said , priceless, genuine Reactions from both ,Great Reaction , Great Energy ,Thx
33:06 the best part is the predators are teenagers and this is a passage to young adulthood
underrated fun time
How high are these guys today? 😂
Love you guys❤ hope you're all doing well! Thank you for the content🔥
Definitely definitely watch Predators (2010)!!! 🔥This one and that one are the 2 underrated ones of the bunch 💎 💎 I love this one so much, even if it was PG-13, I loved the lore that they built up and the action. Plus the unexpected team up between her and Scar (the predator) was so satisfying. That spear shot never fails to give me chills.
Will you two actually pay attention this time, or will this be another Predetor 2 reaction?
@SeanPittaway-lb9bg Do you even know what I'm talking about, or are you just yapping?
@@km666 Clown is just yapping, he thinks if he dick rides them they will notice him
They do chatter more than they need to in their reactions.
@@SeanPittaway-lb9bg No, Sean, I'm not crying.
I'm pointing out that you're over your head.
Yes that was Bishop from Aliens
As well as Weyland in Alien 3
The fact that yall don’t know Sanaa Lathan is crazy to me 😂
She hasn't Been in a lot of mainstream films besides Blade, the Best Man or this, so it's understandable
@@keithnayo4582she’s been famous before mainstream so what are you even saying
Aaron forgot to codeswitch 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Tara no sold it like Sherri when Booker T did it in the Harlem Heat "Hulk Hogan, we comin for you n###@" promo". That's how you know she's a real one ✊🏽
Hi guys! He played Bishop in Aliens.
This movie did admittedly have some cool lore. I like the ideas they presented of how the Xenomorphs and Yautja came to be rival species.
Xenomorphs don't have any friends...
Team ALIEN or Team PREDATOR???
This should be the only time you root for a predator…
team predator
preditor for this one.
Team Bad Ass Final Girl 😎
Def predator
14:52 he was bishop in alien 3
In Aliens he was cut in half but still saved Newt. I read by canon he was repaired/healed but the trauma led him to ask to be deactivated. Lance Hendrickson was also a detective shot in the police station attack in Terminator.
Prometheus always seemed like Ridley Scott just decided to remake this film and switched out the Yautja for the Engineers.
