It's funny how all the presenters who say up front, "I'm not good at public speaking," always give the best presentations.

For those in the south with SHB who feed patties give the BEEs room to patrol the pattie all around it will cut the SHB problem getting into it

Awesome video! In Australia gamma irradiation is available to sterilise equipment infected with American Foulbrood. I'm surprised it is not available in Canada.

The closest quote I could find:
"In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable." - Dwight D. Eisenhower

Thanks for such a detailed plan for keeping bees.
Do you ever use a "Pro-Health" type corn syrup additive?
Is it possible to have too much pollen? I use patties, Sometimes I have completed frames of pollen. Thanks

Full pollen frames can restrict laying
But it’s gold for a developing nest

If you have deformed wing virus or ever had PMS and your colony dies as a result, what do you do with your equipment? Do you replace the comb? Irradiate the comb? Or do you just put it back into the system the following season. Often in the fall I'll have extremely low mite counts (1 to 2 mites per hundred) and still get hit with PMS or deformed wing. I'm working at culling out that comb in the event of viruses holding over into the next season.
    Thanks for any comment.

11:17, do you ever suck up the queen by mistake when you're doing the varroa test?

When talking about controlling mites. Since you take a random sample, if greater than 1% do you treat the whole yard or just the sampled hives?

Thanks Mr. Steppler, great video as always. At about 15:55 you mentioned a beekeeper in Alberta that is experimenting with multiple treatments of oxalic acid vapor. What is the gentleman's name?

at 1:04.00 you mention last year they had a frame of brood coming out of the shed. But didn't you have a few days outside early, then take them back in last year? Just wondering if the brood you found coming out was a result of eggs laid on the first trip out when they saw daylight for a few days, then went back inside.

      Gerry Rozema good observations
Yes I had brood coming out the second time,
But as I recall, if my memory isn’t failing me, I was talking to B&E on beesource arguing about wintershed brooding ( I claimed none) and after pulling them out the first time, we both were pulling brood. Now, not a spring time frame of brood, but nevertheless brood on that frame

For those looking for good insight into beekeeping, I suggest looking up, Ian of course, Scott Hendricks (canadian), Devon rawn (canadian), Jason chrisman (american), walls bee man (american) and Don the fat bee man (american). All have some great views and opinions, video are not to long ( average time of 5 to 10 minutes). Good luck and if you can make a video and share with the world, after all this is the world wide web. The key to success is knowledge and the willingness to fail.

      Thanks again for the information
The discussion with other experienced bee keeper's answers questions I have
I'v heard you say in a few videos don't split the nest to keep that in context
Could you please do a video on do a video on swarm control ?
I was taught to add frame into the center of brood nest to help with
Swarming do you do swarm trapping ? Or is it just not worth your time ?
Thanks again on a side note I've tried to duplicate your bee house four months in
& Haven't killed them all yet ! Two months to go
