Hey Matt, you gave me an idea for how I can spend my time next summer. I haven’t swung a bat in 30 yrs., but I’m gonna go get blown away by 95 mph fastballs.
Great video thanks for making it. I was wondering I know the players use there gloves and cleats from inseason. But who provides the bats as they use wood is it the Cape, the team, the college team, the player?
Honestly, my experience is that players on Cape are very focused on baseball & getting exposure to MLB scouts & are so busy from morning to night with baseball & playing each day that there’s not much issue with girls
Strongly doubt that. They all live with host families, who have house rules, and there are no residence colleges on the cape. Plus, they are busy with clinics, practice, pregame starts real early, and games twice or thrice a week.
Hey Matt, can you do a video on what your daily routine was in high school? For example, hand routines, fungo, BP, tee work etc.
Sure thing!
I played in the cape cod league a few years after the movie Summer Catch came out. I swear it was the best time I ever had playing ball.
Was intern and in 1992. Great time: Billy Wagner, Jay Payton, and many future MLBers.

Used to go watch those games! My older brother got a young Frank Thomas autograph before anyone knew who he was!
Amazing that a college can tell you what to do with YOUR off season
There is no off-season lol
Thanks Anto for responding to my question. Cheers!
Every time you say Holy Cross I die a little. I witnessed the biggest upset in NCAA hockey history in person. Big MN Gopher fan here 😭
Shouldn’t pitchers put the ball down for the summer? When does overuse become an issue after a long regular season?
Not if they feel healthy.
Great explanation Matt to these players, parents. Thomas Eaton head coach
Rochester Ridgemen nycbl
Looking for pitchers
Very interesting

Did you ever place a player in the Northwoods League in the Upper Midwest.
I played naia ball, most guys just play in summer college league where you just pay the fee
How are these teams funded?
Donations & fund raising
Who pays for the cost of a college player to play in the cape? Does the college pay for his food or anything?
Player has to host family (at least when I was there). My host family would not accept my money though.
Host family will feed & house player voluntarily & get a modest stipend from team for food expenses
hey i didn't know you are a fine purveyor of cheese as well
Hey Matt can you do a video on the weirdest things minor leaguers we’re asked to sign?
How are the groupies in the cape? I hear those guys get tons of girls
