    If only the Primarchs had a FUM device to help them calm down as oppose to their chain smoking habits, maybe they wouldn't kill their own loyal sons... Except Perturabo he would definitely still do it

      Nameal should have been the one who made a complaint about the orders of his Primarch, told he would report it and why he thought it was wrong, he was not the one who was given in his opinion a unlawful order, he rebelled against his leader, and it was not the first time he was on the wrong side, first one Caliban where he joined a rebel faction. He was a just killing, he was a treat.

Then personally give him his funeral rites, and probably engrave his name into his battle plate. Then, whatever hurt his son, will find out what happens when Vulkan stops being so nice.

      He has the least problematic sons, so it was obvious this may be the case but then again he got angry enough to kill an Elder child so not exactly incapable of unreasonable rage (I Know he regretted his actions).
      The deaths that Sanguinius, Corvus Corax and Guilliman gave to their own sons are actually signs of thier love seeing as they felt the need to do it themselves rather than just order another son to do it; Sanguinius love for his son's was so great that it was the only thing close to getting him to make a deal with Chaos (the promise of a cure for the red thirst).

    • @xenoblad
      @xenoblad 5 місяців тому +9

      I think right before meeting the Emperor, he killed one of his top guys(I forgot his name) who helped him take over Colchis. Basically, there was a power struggle over what Lorgar's world view would be between Kor Pheron and a former school teacher turned soldier. Kor Pheron believed in imposing religious world views through force, and the other guy wanted to use education to let people learn on their own how to be religious (he also wanted to abolish slavery, which the priest class had tons of).
      Kor Pheron tended to be EXTREMELY physically and emotionally abusive to Lorgar in the name of his religious world view. This is happening for years in the story so far. He acts extremely unfair to Lorgar and everyone in Lorgar's army hates Kor Pheron for being a mega asshole to their religious savior for basically sadistic and selfish reasons.
      During the final debate, Kor Pheron then starts abusing Lorgar again to convince him to agree with him. The other guy then tries to kill Kor Pheron to defend Lorgar, but then Lorgar kills the guy with his mace, cementing Kor Pheron's world view as the dominant one for Lorgar going forward.
      I think the message of that story is that Lorgar believes that the gods of Colchis are capricious and cruel so to properly religiously appreciate them you need to be an uber piece of shit and not some generic enlighten progressive. For Lorgar, properly worshipping gods takes precedent over literally everything else, even the existence of humans.

    The Fate of Nemiel really was tragic since he was right, afterall the Heresy was caused by marines being more loyal to their Primarchs then The Emperor, so Nemiel was a model marine in going against his father to uphold The Emperor's decree, but the Lion was also right, they could not survive if no one other then him could fight back, they had to adapt, even if it meant going against the Emperor's word

    • @Doc51499
      @Doc51499 5 місяців тому +10

      The problem with nemiel is that he didn’t stop to think about WHY lion was breaking the edict. There’s the letter of the law and then there’s the spirit of it. The edict at the council of nikea was made to protect humanity from using warp magic flippantly and falling to chaos. Lion wanted to break the edict specifically so he could protect his legion from the warp

    • @kimmogensen4888
      @kimmogensen4888 5 місяців тому +4

      Nemiel should have made a complaint about the orders of his Primarch, told he would report it to the Emperor and why he thought it was wrong, he was not the one who was given in his opinion a unlawful order, he rebelled against his commanding officer and the chain of command, the military is not a debate club, in a war you don’t start to debate such things with your leader like it’s a democracy and you have a debate, chain of command has to be followed and you can at most make an official complaint and refuse yourself to follow what you see as a unlawful order, and hope you are not executed by your commanding officer for your dangerous refusal to obey orders, if your rights about it he might be executed himself but you will still be dead, which is why you probably should be careful about not following orders in a war zone, a just verdict by the Lion, debates are for peace time not for combat.

    Nemiel was NOT the paragon you describe and this is effectively his second or third appearance in the epic. In his first appearance he is actually a traitor to The Lion and only Zahariel stops him from carrying out a plot on Caliban. Also Nemiel was only technically correct about following the Edict in that moment. He was dead wrong in every other way and SHOULD have been heavily punished in some form. Fair to say The Lion just ending him is overkill and hard to justify if Nemiel's past is unknown. But at least he didn't suffer.

    This is another one of those moments where someone's loyalty outweighs their common sense. And when it calls into question if the Emperor himself might have been wrong about something. Which is a fact that most of the time he won't even let be spoken aloud. Like the time he thought about killing Sanguinis for refusing to follow orders and sacrifice many members of his legion in a self-decimating suicidal mission. The Emperor had a great reason for canceling all of the librarians and forcing them to act as normal space marines again. However the main reason why he did it comes off more petty than it does sensible. And not only that at a time when demons and chaos mutated astartes are all over the place sabotaging and destroying the Imperium, having loyal psykers and blanks are probably needed at an all-time high. That's like if you find out people in the special forces might be traitors to whatever country they come from, but you don't know which one of them it might be. So you just try to kill off all of the special forces, there are probably many loyal and still usable people among them. So capturing/arresting and interrogating them is definitely the smarter option. But after Horus' betrayal the Emperor just straight up said; “All warrior psychics have to pretend to be normies again. No matter how many of your brothers die and no matter if you die. You can never use brain blasting lightning from your fingertips again”. Which is once again extremely stupid. Like in this situation with the Lion and only he, with his Primarch aura could do anything against the demons attacking the Dark Angels until one of them essentially broke his oath to the emperor and hit him with the chidori from Naruto. And I have a feeling that he took the information just as well as Dorn did nearly beating Nathaniel Garo to death, although Big E probably psychically eviscerated the poor person, and half of their family just because, after being passed that message.

    The thing about the Lion killing Nemiel, is that it kinda makes a bit of sense if you understand how the Lion thinks.
    He is literally incorruptible, stated many times in the lore, and he is the most loyal to the Emperors cause, being one of his only sons that truly understands what the Emperor is "about".
    He is very-VERY pragmatic and rational.
    He is in the middle of a huge fight against demons, and getting the short end of the stick.
    A solution presents itself, and one of his own sons calls him a traitor. Factor in the things written above...
    He tries to reason, but what Nemiel says goes against everything he is and wants at that moment. So in a fit of rage, he shuts him down. I don't think he wanted to kill him, he just got so hurt by those words, that it was one of the very few times in his existence, where a moment of irrationality overwhelmed him and he acted on a whim.
    Primarchs are human after all, and they make mistakes.

    I mean, are you really surprised Vulkan didn't kill one of his sons. Bone breaking hugs on other legions come close, but not nearly. Now, if his brothers sons were hurting some helpless people, he is the Lord of Drakes.

      @@ahmedshaharyarejaz9886 I have a bit of D&D stuff on my channel, but it’s mostly food. I’d suggest finding a group either online (Facebook is pretty good) or through a local gaming store. The best way to learn is to just dive in and play. I can’t get used to Orks instead of Orcs 😂

    I know lograr didn’t technically kill one of his own but that’s not for a lack of trying. When Erebus killed Argel tal he told kharn. At that point in the heresy that’s the equivalent of getting someone killed via swatting. The only reason it didn’t work was because this is Erebus. We could probably argue all day about whether or not Erebus counts as loyal to lorgar or if he’s just out for himself but he considered himself destiny’s hand and as such he and lorgar were both in cahoots with chaos.

    Nemiel had it coming. While the author just wanted to kill a named dude he accidentally hit on an important point. When the sovereign is out of contact the general makes the rules. Art of War Chapter 8 verse 3. "There are roads which must not be followed, armies which must be not attacked, towns which must not be besieged, positions which must not be contested, commands of the sovereign which must not be obeyed."

After the fight the first captain sugests to Ferrus that he should be killed for that dispite saving them all and Ferrus agrees

    I'm probably wrong about this but isn't the Red Thirst caused by Sanguinius dying to Horris during the heresy? If so how is Sanguinius attacking any own men being affected by the Red Thirst? If I'm correct that Sanguinius dying to Horris during the heresy is the cause of the Red Thirst, he shouldn't be alive to be killing his marines being affect by the Red Thirst right? Or is the Red Thirst something different then what I'm thinking of?
