As a Kiwi, I never underestimate the wallabies. Yes, the Wallabies are definitely looking much better. I think this Rugby Championship is going to be much closer than people think. I believe there will be a lot of close scores.
Losing Tupou for the game is a major problem. When he's fired up there's not a Bok on the field who can beat him in 1-on-1 contact. I think with good selection it's still doable, but they'll need to rely on home advantage to sneak a win. I'd pick: Slipper, Faessler, Alaalatoa, Williams, Salakaia-loto, Valentini, Tizzano, Wilson Gordon, Lolesio, Pietsch, Paisami, Flook, Kellaway, Wright Pollard, Kailea, Nongorr, Blyth, Hooper, Reimer, McDermott, Donaldson If Bell and Koroibete are fit then they get picked.
@@uggy The team picked is 8/10 I assume Slipper is on the bench because Schmidt wants to reduce his workload burden. I want to see Dylan Pietsch get some game time, I think he'll run hard with the ball.
Springboks are the proper litmus test for the Wallabies even though it's a slight gimmie to the hosts since South Africa don't really play well on Aussie soil despite being favorites here.
Not playing well on aussie soil is the boks fault, but also a poor excuse. You gotta live up to the title of world champions, if you can't do that, are you really the greatest in the world?
@@AbeHopwood I'm an All Blacks fan here, especially when the Bokkos haven't won in Australia since 2022 from what I hear, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do against a rebuilding Wallabies side so basically anything can happen.
@Samizouza last 6 times they've played, SA have won 3, and Australia have won 3. This current Australia side is better than the Australia side that beat the boks those 3 times. I expect SA to win since they're the champions, but it would make sense if Australia win. I'm an England fan though, so I really just want SA to lose 😂
NZ usually win it but im very curious to see if Boks can maintain a #1 or #2 ranking between World Cups this time & keep NZ out of the top 2 ranking spots
Are you talking world rankings? If so then I don't think they're affected in these types of tournaments. Ireland won the six nations for example and they gained like 0.20 points, which is absolutely absurd. Ireland should realistically be in the top spot considering they won a tournament and also beat the world champions I reckon it'll just be the same rankings by the end of the championship
@Trajan2401 Ireland got 0.20 points for winning an entire tournament which literally has 2 other top 5 teams in it. They got basically 2 whole points for beating SA once. Makes no logical sense
@@AbeHopwoodthat's because of the ranking you beat countries lower ranked so got very little points the only way you can stay at number 1 is by winning consistently
Wallabies will decide who the winner of the RC is. I think we can steal a win from both the Boks and ABs, but if I was a beating man, I can see us not winning a game 😢
Wallabies are always confident before the actual event. Certaintly have some world class players and play attractive rugby but lack experience in key positions compared to Boks, AB and Puma’s.
I so want the Wallabies to do well this year but I know Joe knows that it is too early to get excited with their chances in the Ruby Championship. To be realistic, I don't think the Wallabies will win a game but they will perform well and show signs of a great future under Joe. But miracles to do happen. Also, I think that Joe is going to ease the Wallabies into confidence and skills to match any team, and I believe he will take the Wallabies to the world cup final for their hard work and effort. I do hope the Wallabies will win a game against NZ, SA and Argentina.
Finally Uggy is back. I hope you didn’t miss the Wallabies peak. Sorry for beating your girls at the Olympics. Australia now 0-2 against birds. First Emus now Eagles
As the Springboks of old would say It is ok to lose to the Wallabies, or any other team, expect for New Zealand, and you must not under any circumstances lose to the All Blacks
As a South African I want the Springboks to win however we have not won in Brisbane for a very long time. Let the best team win and let it be an exciting game.
I learnt many years ago, never to overlook Australia. Last years World Cup and Rugby Championship was shambles, due to the their coach. They would have moved on and forgotten that. Joe Schmidt is a completely different coach, and it's shown so far this year.
I love how this video is just me thinking about the championship. If springboks win we will say... it was pretty obvious. And if Australia wins we will say "we had that feeling".
13 years! That's all that needs to be said. No change this year, although improvements will be seen with superior Kiwi coaching, but the aim with him is the world cup, from what I've seen.

The top 4 ‘ranking’ spots are meaningless. Each team in that group can beat any of the other 3 on a given day.
Joe Schmidt at the helm is an unknown factor that could cause SA problems.
