I love this theme all too much. I remember the Pokéball-patterned grass. I remember the fountain. I remember finding a TM behind the fence. I remember that Quick Claw lady. Good times.
Last year I was playing crystal and got a scyther from the bug catching tournament. Needless to say scyther has gone from being a Pokémon I had to struggle to remember to being my favorite bug type.
When I hear this song, I get transported 10 years back, to April of 2010. We were on a road trip travelling to a location that's about an 8 hour drive. It's around 5PM and for the last hours I've been grinding my team to prepare to beat Whitney's ass, but I noticed this one location that, for some reason, I hadn't gone to yet. So I thought, maybe I should check that place out? Lucky for me, it was also on the same day as a bug-catching contest, but I planned to do that later, cause I wanted to check out the place itself first, and when I got in, this track played. I don't remember what I felt or thought at that exact moment, but I knew that I fell asleep listening to this song, waking up at our destination 3 hours later with my DS' battery drained because I just kept it on and listened.
I imagine that in an actual Johto (aka, not just games), the National Park would be fairly expansive and full of green areas; the central Poké Ball would still be the highest traffic and nicest looking area, but you could go and relax under a tree if you just walk a ways away. Sit and rest with all your Pokémon out of their Poké Balls as you feel the gentle breeze and see how human caretaking and wild Pokémon combine in a sweet harmony...
I love the art of Lyra. It makes me think that Ethan is staring at her in the National Park when she isn't looking, but then she turns her head to look at him.
HG/SS are my absolute favorite Pokémon games. I loved the graphics, the regions that felt giant, all the content and story, and all the stuff you could do after beating the game.
If we get a Johto remake and they have this song in the National Park, Friendship Values gained should be increased in that location just for the music alone. I can’t imagine many Pokémon not liking this music unless they have poor hearing.
National Park feels so nostalgic. Johto in general feels supernostalgic, there are a lot of amazing places in Johto. While listening this I imagine myself and my Pokemon like Typlosion resting in a bench and enjoying the moment.
I think i can safely say that this Melody will stay in my mind forever not only because I go sometimes back and play Soulsilver and Heartgold just to listen to the music but in particular the atmosphere that I get from that place is just too good.
MAN.... one of my absolute favourite pkmn tracks ever. I have really strong HGSS nostalgia since HG was my first pkmn game ever, and the national park is one of my favourite locations in Johto, if not *the* favourite. Youve surpassed doing this one justice- it sounds absolutely amazing.

I remember a specific trip I made with my grandpa, we went to visit my dad and the whole way over there I spent it in the national park in the catching contest. I can't explain how much I love HeartGold
I wasn't the biggest fan of this track when I first played HeartGold, but after all these years it gives me a nostalgia punch. Moreso now then ever after I found the National Park recreated in VRChat, with most of the Johto region beyond the boundaries of the park despite normally not being able to see it.

i think this is a testament to how good gen iv/v's pianos are; there's hardly a difference between them in the original piece and this remaster. though the more i listen to the strings...you cheeky bastard, about all that was redone was that sector before the loop and a couple synth hits if i'm hearing things correctly.

Ever since my current nuzlocke whenever I hear this theme I get transported back to a few months ago.. Summer time, the town centre's yard was used to host a drive-in theatre for a couple weeks during quarantine. I was sat in the back, eating candy, watching what I think was called Onward (animated, heavy D&D vibes) and running back and forth training my Pokémon... sad to think that out of those 6 only 3 are still on my team... If you haven't nuzlocked a game yet I highly recommend it, it gives a whole new level of gameplay and challenge as well as making you use Pokémon you never would have otherwise. My first time with an Ampharos, Dragonair, Heracross (rip), Arcanine and Murkrow.. surprisingly good, definitely gonna want to try them again
My first nuzlocke was in HGSS. It was a lot of fun but I might never play a HGSS nuzlocke again just because of that level curve lol, it was too draining.. If it was fixed, definitely an amazing game for a first nuzlocke.
