I’m guessing after Alola2 or so they’ll probably move on to ports of older games instead of reimaginative remakes

I remember hearing "Memory P" from the FRLG super music collection. I screamed "that's azalea town" as soon as the song started. Amazing work.

I just beat SoulSilver today! Replaying the game made me realize how cozy Johto is, and it was at this town when I felt that the most. Thank you for this!
I’m in tears now. Wonderful cover of this nostalgic song. I remember back in school watching an old bud of mine play HGSS and it got me to get a DS also. I would play with them for hours wether it be multiplayer or just side by side while on the single player. Sadly they moved far away but every time I hear this theme It reminds me of them and I hope they’re doing ok.
most pokemon music has that "this is a pokemon tune" vibe to them, this is probably the only tune in the series that doesn't.
Sounds a lot more like a pop song more than video game music, and quite frankly always has.

Pokemon is packed full of good OSTs but something about the life and vibrancy of Johto's makes it my favorite.

Ilex forest and Celebi have the essence of old Pokemon imo. Its my second favorite forest, the first one being Eterna.

May I suggest arranging the OG Gold/Silver surfing theme? Best in the series imo, and I haven't yet heard a rendition that faithfully captures the original vibe.

I have to get all the way to red 3 times in heartgold to get all the kanto and hoenn starters in my white 2 save and these remasters make it slightly less difficult to do
