Great video as always Josh! I love this camper if they would just flip the Floorplan to allow for bed &bath access in travel mode. That dinette is just too big for my taste.
I love the bedroom, no carpeting, that wiring is color coded and numbered, the AC system and 2nd AC option (in AL). Like all the light colors. Love the docking center!
I wish they would put one solar panel on to run the res. Frig.

I do like how Alliance approaches things. I could see this working for my situation, with two grown adults and it's lighter and gives you the ability to expand. I'd prefer the full Solar setup with the extra AC. I did notice the extra handhold on the roof, to help you transition between the ladder and the roof. I guess that's what it is, the triangle part on the roof even with the ladder.

Hi Josh. For these smaller 5th wheelers with neck-breaker tv positioning, could you ask your contacts at Alliance (and Cougar, for that matter) whether they would consider fitting pull-down tv mounts? Looks like it could be a good way of getting a decent viewing position for watching tv.

Nice to see a lighter more nimble length 5th wheel option as opposed to most being very long & heavy for weekend or just couples usage. This one looks very sharp, but road mode blockage to bedroom makes it a challenge. Thank you for being so through and pointing out pro/cons! Really enjoy your reviews. PS: The Cougar 22ML you referenced is nice option.

Agreed about road mode. That's why I don't think I'd mind a pass-thru bath in these (or the 26rd from the other day), with the bathroom entrance in the middle of the bulkhead.

Yeah Josh, the road mode is important with middle aged females (mine) that needs to Pee what seems like every 21 minutes. We use a pull out or large off ramp exit area with our 5'er for the Pee stop. I dont want to mess with slides. The poop station sitting area seems good , even for your long chicken arms! Also, the opening floor plan view in the videos are still great. Gives me a minute to look over stuff, then view the video bits as you have them sectioned off. Good job.

  • @chuckpotter1209
    @chuckpotter1209 Рік тому +3

Good video Josh. We like the small length of this but not having the bedroom access with the slide in is a show-stopper. Thanks for telling us about the solar option but we prefer to add our own panels, not factory install. However, having that access black tube on the roof to add our own wiring is a super idea that we would use. If I recall correctly this model we saw had the sink in the middle and the microwave was against the wall. We could not access the microwave with the slide in on that design. Alliance obviously moved the two.

In as much as I love 😍 this unit, I'd like to point out a minor thing that looks like a potential issue. Looking at the interior steps to bedroom, when the slide goes in & out that open storage under the step could have something loose that could get lodged in the slide. I suggest those steps having the lift up lid access.

Another great review of an Alliance product. Their factory service after the sale is second to none. I own and LOVE my Alliance 32rls, best fifth wheel I have ever purchased and got it from Bish RV :)
I Agree with the 4 point auto level on this one. This is not just critical of Alliance but most brands out now. The bigger 5th wheels like my 35 foot 12K 32rls really SHOULD have 6 point electric from the factory at least as an option if its not a cost they want to pass on to everybody. It's one of the very few things I dislike about my Avenue.
I hope you appreciate my honest owner opinion of the Avenue products and if you do smash my like button :)

This and the 26RD makes the most sense for my husband and I, but I hate the u-dinette. There are only 2 of us, I have no need to seat 6 people - but I DO need floor space for dog beds/crates maybe put a thin cabinet against the wall with a televator, and a fold down table (or pull up and out table) that would only take up space when I need it) I’d also like a little wall space by the door to hang jackets and dog leashes, but the current dinette is in the way of that, too. And I know it’s small, but I’d still like a telescoping/extending hand rail for those outside steps. And really would prefer road-mode access to the bathroom. Sounds like a long list of complaints, I know - but I still like it overall

Great walkthru, and I really like this trailer - especially at well under 30’! Please tho, put the struts on those overhead storage doors in the bedroom - how much are they actually saving by leaving them off? Question for you, we have a Ram 2500 with Ramboxes (6’4 bed), and went that way because we were never going to get a fifth wheel…but these smaller ones get me thinking, is it easy enough to put a swivel pin box (turning point?) on something like this or would it be just more of a hassle than it’s worth? Overall I really like this unit. I only have a few minor changes, 1 cut the bedrroom door to allow it to open fully. I little short or a notch would be great. I also don't care for the TV mounted so high. I like the large table and due to the size I guess that the pedistal legs are the answer. I would put a larger fan, depending on the CFM it moves in the bathroom. While it is a smaller room it will have the most humidty. I would like to see all booth style units with a storage door available for outside access for longer items. I also liike solar so they need to consider upgrading that for those of us who as you call it boon docking camping. I like the floor plan exterior color and length. Very nice unit.

My wife and I liked both this floor plan and the 26 rd.This one is nice because it is a little shorter and a bit lighter on the pin weight than the 26rd, we have a diesel 3/4 ton so pin weight is something we would have to watch when towing a Fifth wheel. Would be nice if they could put a door on the back side of the u shaped dinette for outside access like they did on the 26rd. With the solar it's okay as an option, but making it a standard would be nice. If we were buying a Fifth wheel today we would probably go with the single A/C and add a max air vent fan in the bedroom for the type of camping we do and to help keep the pin weight down. Because this is a rear kitchen I am assuming it has a second gray tank. In the specs it said it has a 53 gal. grey tank, would that be the total of both tanks. We like everything they are doing so far, can't wait to see what else they have planned for the future.

I really like these small Alliance 5vers. Few things I would like changed.
Bedroom door, could it be another pocket door.
Add a window across from the bathroom door.
Add lights under under the OHC above the dinette.
Maybe replace the dinette with a freestanding table and chairs. At the door, add a small dropping zone cabinet.
The big one. I do not like the big cargo hold doors. I wish the doors where taller. I feel as I would damage the lower frame pulling stuff in and out. Also on the camp side, it needs a cord access. If I would also love to see the front cargo hold taller, which means Z'ing the frame. It could add a lot of tongue weight. But it would really put this series in a class all in its own.
I really hope they make a travel friendly version. I cannot open a deep slide at our place. So un/loading at home cannot be done.

First impression: Clean, neat, and tidy interior. From a color perspective a blank canvas that we could change with accents/pillows/wall hangings to make it what we want....this is an amazing thing and something I hope more manufacturers realize works best. While losing the upper deck in Road Mode is not awesome it would not, for us, be a deal breaker.
For the size of RV this is the amount of well-thought out storage is amazing. Personally I would likely DIY boxes to be above the overhead storage as well as DIY a secured generator/additional propane carrier off of the hitch.
As far as the solar...I don't think making anything more than a battery tender system standard makes sense for most manufacturers. I love seeing that more manufacturers are including options for increased solar and inverter capacity. For us I would want as much solar as the roof could stand and the batteries and controllers to make use of it. That makes the conduit path down to the front 'garage' even more amazing and helps future-proof this rig.
Overall a design I really like. Alliance is doing some really interesting stuff lately...and I appreciate Josh sharing it with us.

Little stick-on LED lights can be easily put under the upper cupboards to brighten up the counters, and I think I'd rather get some at the dollar store rather than having the manufacturer putting them in at a higher price. I'd lose the spice rack. Great storage in the kitchen an dinette.

I don't think there is a wrong answer on the solar. Personally I wouldn't option it because I would want a more capable system and am comfortable doing that myself but it being standard wouldn't be a deal breaker by any means. As long as there is wiring prep it fairly straightforward to diy a system or have a dealer install it. What I have strong feelings on is new rv's that don't include some kind of solar wiring prep.

I've noticed that the way most of the fifth wheels available today are setup as a couples unit. By that, I mean that seating available for simply watching the TV. We have looked at a lot of fifth wheels and they have the theater seating facing the TV and anyone else traveling with you either has to sit on the floor to watch or just do something else. I've never been in an Alliance but they seem to build a nice unit. That wide body really opens it up and that helps the entire unit.

I love the floorplan. Constructive criticism for Alliance on this floorplan:
    1. Table needs to be on legs. This leads to #2
    2. "Rear" wall dinette storage should be drawer(s) pulling to the center of the table.
    3. Under cabinet lighting especially around the cooktop.
    4. Backsplash around cooktop
    5. Bedroom cabinet struts needed on vertically opening doors -or- swap to a side opening door

Road mode access to the upper deck is a minor sticking point but no access to the fuse/breaker panel has me concerned…would not want to manually extend out that slide if the breaker for the slide trips. 6. And instead of always saying no, might the slide engineers come up with a way to make slides usable when closed?
    7. All in all, I like the size, the roof, the interior color scheme, external color scheme and grapics still too busy for me. See Outdoors RVs for a simple but tasteful scheme. The ladder, auto-leveling and the kitchen are great but the items above are important to be improved in order to consider this model. Also, torsion axels and/or shock absorbers are catching my eye. It's a nice trailer and floorplan. There is a cost difference and due to height and pin weight it isn't really 1/2 ton towable but this trailer would be a good alternative to some of the travel trailers in this length range.
I only noticed one ceiling vent in the bathroom. I assume the A/C in the main area is not ducted. I'm not sure I would like that as there is a big difference in how loud a non-ducted system is compared to a ducted one. If it truly isn't ducted then I would rather see something like the Truma A/C as they are much quieter not to mention efficient than their American designed counterparts. In fact I would consider forgoing the factory installed A/C in the bedroom and install a Truma there myself.
The theatre seat is a no go with the fixed center armrest. We would require the option of a triifold sofa or theatre seats with a fold down armrest to be interested.
That's about it as far as dislikes.
As to the solar we would order the solar package. I still think it should be an option to either add it or being able to remove it for a credit.
