Started playing a few days ago. For an indie souls like I'm pretty impressed. The mechanics feel good and responsive. The only problem is like you said. The amount of enemies is a little much.
I'm really looking forward to playing this, but might wait for some updates first tho. I really enjoy indie souls likes and can look past a little bit of clunk. But balancing sounds weird rn
Good review mate. What's the difficulty scale on this? Does it have difficulty settings?. I ask as a non-soulslike player lol. I've avoided them like the plague, being a casual gamer, except for Steel Rising, which I enjoyed and found quite tolerable difficulty wise.
Thanks buddy I appreciate you stopping by :). There's no difficulty settings mate, but I loved Steel Rising. I would say the amount of enemies in this game that you get spammed with are more difficult, Steel Rising is a much more polished game
Great review and very much on point. Combat is what hooked me on the game in all honesty despite it can be looking like a dated game the combat flow is far far better than Entoria The Last Song Tried the demo and it feels very weightless lacking impact compared to Morbid its always very satisfying especially the riposte and finishers. Overall if they make a sequel Im all in.
Thanks buddy I appreciate that! I agree, the combat was the element that they did nail (minus the enemy layout). Completely agree with the riposte and finishers, you get in to a habit where you can pull them off effortlessly (which makes you feel powerful lol). If they go for a sequel, they'll need to work on the performance issues and try to work on gank fights. But other than that I would be up for it too. Thanks for your comment and checking out my review though buddy :)
Basically, wait 2yrs for patches - so that the game will be in a finished state, and not BETA. And it'll be worth buying in a sale. Kinda beyond tiered of games being unfinished at launch.
@SenorDonut. it is industry standard now, release a game, then if it sells enough, they might look at fixing their game. Can't imagine why game sales are so low when compared to the number of gamers 🤔
thanks for the review I also agree that game punish you for using healing item. Beside earning less XP it also reduce the visibility that I die more. It was truly WTF situation.
Why the massive style change? The first game is beautiful pixel art. How disappointing they've gone this route and turned it into an extremely over done and unoriginal art/play style. Love the atmosphere and world the art style brought in the original. I really can't believe they've ruined that
Didn’t realize it was even same IP at first. That said this isnt super rare. Dragon Age as well as Darksiders offered different experiences each entry. I for one, am all about a small dev team trying new approaches out.
Hey buddy, I would say no due to the difficulty (I mean the amount of enemies that can spam you). I recommend Steel Rising, for an entry level soulsbourne. Oh and thank you for stopping by buddy :)
I didn't mind the graphics as much, but the performance and frame rate issues are what I had problems with. Thank you for checking out my review though buddy, appreciate it!

Glad you're enjoying it mate, where have you got to? Thanks for checking my review :)
Looks kind of rough but so did outward and that ended up being one of my top 5
Agreed, the game's got good foundations, but could use some polish. Thanks for checking my review pal!
I'm really looking forward to playing this, but might wait for some updates first tho. I really enjoy indie souls likes and can look past a little bit of clunk. But balancing sounds weird rn
That's probably your best best, an optimization patch for the performance would benefit the game a lot. Thanks for checking my review btw :)
Mortal shell and Thymesia are amazing souls-likes
@@RemingtonSteel I've actually got both, but haven't played them yet lol
Why dod they do the Ds2 and LoTF deal where they overrun you with multiple enemies all the time?
I've played DS2 so many times, but it's much worse in this game bro! It does drain the fun out of it. Thank you for checking out my review buddy
@@SenorDonut. I just played the demo after watching. Hard pass for me.
@@SanityCrusher111 I can't blame you buddy, assuming Shadow of the Erdtree will be your next souls fix!
Sounds like most of the issues could be fixed. Hopefully they keep on improving the game as lots of potential.
100% agree! The enemy placement alone would do wonders. Thanks for checking my review buddy!

I played enotria myself and it is very promising if they fix a few things. I enjoyed it.
@@Munchboxkid I'm going to take a look at Entoria now :D
How can the sanity meter be kept down?
Hey buddy, the only way is to not get hit. But if it's already built up there's a consumable that will lower it :)
Basically, wait 2yrs for patches - so that the game will be in a finished state, and not BETA. And it'll be worth buying in a sale.

It's becoming an industry standard nowadays mate (unfortunately), thank you for stopping by and checking my review :)

Couldn't agree more, that and the practise of early access.
thanks for the review

You're more than welcome, and thank you for checking out my review :). I agree pal, the purple filter with the insanity was a bad decision!
The game does not punish you fpr using a healing item? Unless you have chosen to use the Blessing that degreases sanity while using the healing item
@@SSlayd That's correct, I had that blessing equipped for a while unknowingly lol.
Character creation is a must for me with any kind of rig or fantasy game this one will not be in my library
Ah glad the review could be of help to you then! and thanks for stopping by :)
Being locked in to playing as a woman is a terrible selling tool
@@ClubAnimay that's the dumbest reason to not play a game

Hey buddy, thanks for checking the review out. Would you recommend the first? It's not often a franchise changes the entirety of how a game plays!
Didn’t realize it was even same IP at first. That said this isnt super rare. Dragon Age as well as Darksiders offered different experiences each entry.

thanks for reviewing this apparently nobody cares about ( luv ur accent by the way )
You're welcome! Good to have you around, and thank you :).
@@SenorDonut. kalimba!
Cool concept but looks '' clunky '' ngl, but maybe still a good game who know !
Yep could definitely do with some fine tuning, but yep it's just average. Thanks for checking the review buddy!
Is this an entry level soulsborne?
Hey buddy, I would say no due to the difficulty (I mean the amount of enemies that can spam you). I recommend Steel Rising, for an entry level soulsbourne. Oh and thank you for stopping by buddy :)
@@SenorDonut. Yeah saw your video and every time you get spotted, enemies rush you!
Ps5 exclusive ?
Hey buddy, this is on switch, xbox and steam too :)
I'm not too picky when it comes to visuals, but my god do the graphics in this look horrible!
I didn't mind the graphics as much, but the performance and frame rate issues are what I had problems with. Thank you for checking out my review though buddy, appreciate it!
Bo’ol a wa-uh?!?!?!
We do like our water over here too lol.
Hated the demo definitely not a next gen game
Thanks for stopping by buddy :), I didn't try the demo...but yeh the game definitely has its shortcomings!
Of course it's not next gen. The PS6 isn't out yet.
@@jonnyvelocity games are still being released for PS4/PS5 so PS5 is still being called Next Gen.
Can’t call PS6 next gen because it doesn’t exist.
It’s cool to be inspired but way too many are doing this.
It's a big ask to nail a soulslike! Thanks for checking the review out pal
Miyazaki said he doesn't want to make the same game over and over so we're relying on these other companies to follow the formula.
@@SanityCrusher111 but there games won’t fill the void because very few fit the quality of from soft games.
@scarvello True. There have been some good soulslikes but none compare to Fromsoft
@@SanityCrusher111 I agree, I thought Lies of P was a good contender though :)
UI is enough to scare me away from this game. It looks like UI straight out of fake mobile game ad
I didn't even think about the UI until you said that! Thanks for stopping by and checking the review buddy :)
Looks like a PS2 game
Ouch lol. thanks for checking the review buddy
No, it does not. People who say mouth breather shit like this need to actually look at a comparison. Not even close
I have more fun playing retro ps2 games than I do playing most ps5 games.
Could’ve been playable if it wasn’t a woman
Nobody tell Antoine Butler about how you can play a female character in Elden Ring or he might have a stroke.
I know you are entitled to your opinion, but you are limiting your possible choices of games if you worry about what gender or race a main character is.
🤮
Boo
If you think like that then you are gonna miss stellar blade and it is a powerhouse.
If it wasn’t a women I was going to get it
There's so many good games that lock you into playing as a women. Shame to miss out became of that
@@RemingtonSteel I have played and beat every tomb raider but if it ain’t someone that I know as a girl I’m usually not interested .
