Inventables X-Controller to OpenBuilds BlackBox Upgrade

Changed out my Inventables X-Controller with an OpenBuilds BlackBox! You can use the power box from the X-Controller to supply power to the BlackBox but I purchased a new 24v power supply as well. Also upgraded my z-probe to the automatic XYZ probe from OpenBuilds!

Dude is that a vacuum table spoilboard I see there? Really cool, I recently printed on MDF at work (large 4x8 flat bed printer) flat bed has a vacuum table, the vac goes through the mdf sheet, insane

did you connect to easel or just downloading design snd running thru open builds?

@@r2creativedesignsopen builds has another product called the interface CNC touch, and it acts as a pendant that lets you move/control your machine without using a computer/tablet. Everything from homing to uploading tool paths I believe from an SD or USB drive. It’s like $190 right now, looks like a pretty cool unit, wasn’t sure if you were planning on getting one to use with your motion controller, looks like a pretty well made kit

Actually I just bought an OpenBuilds 1010 Lead Machine last week & just finished putting it together with the interface. It's been a while since I've posted any videos but I'll post one soon on my new OpenBuilds CNC with all the bells & whistles.

how's the swap been going now that it's been almost a year? Also, I've been thinking of swapping my x-carve pro to the new blackbox controller x32.. but i am fairly new to the control system stuff.. do you think their system would work with the x-carve pro?

I don't use my CNC nearly as much as I did since I have my CO2 laser BUT the OpenBuilds box is fantastic, zero issues. It should work on newer versions of the x-carve. I would take pictures of all the connections before you swap. From what I remember it was mostly a 1 for 1 wire swap & maybe a couple adjustments after troubleshooting.

@@r2creativedesigns Thank you for video. I'm new to this but picked up a x-carve for cheap. I'm considering swapping out the controller for Blackbox.
