The amount of motifs he sneaks into his videos every time is insane! Reminds me of how far the Sonic series has come & the memories made along the way🔥
Frontiers having adaptive music like this as you uncover more of the island would be SO cool. Like, it starts as the ambient BOTW-esc music when you first enter an island, but around the time you figure everything out and unlock the titan you fight with Super Sonic, it shifts to this, classic Sonic rock.
Probably asking too much with that, so I'm definitely not expecting it.
dynamic/adaptive music i believe was already confirmed but it probably wont be to this extent, a shame because this is a kickass idea
The music is confirmed to become more dynamic as you uncover more of the island, or at least as you progress in the game. The Sonic official UA-cam channel had a recent livestream where they played Frontiers (and it seemed they had completed the game, since Sonic was at level 84 and all of the islands were unlocked.) They played some of Kronos Island, and the music was noticeably faster paced (it wasn't rock or anything, but it was a lot more dynamic. It was the Starfall Islands track, but it was much more endgame-ish. The piano was much faster, and there was more instrumentation (it felt a lot fuller.) The song itself had a lot of more emotional arcs, with a part of the song that sounded very hopeful, followed by a part that sounded more sinister. The "electronic drums" (I'm not sure if that's what you call them) were also much more apparent, they hit harder in the track.)
tl;dr, the music does become a lot less ambient as you progress throughout the game, don't think it'll hit as hard as it does in this video though, but it seems like it'll still be pretty solid musically

No no you were right, we did get dynamic music on the islands, 7 movements for each chaos emerald you get. It just wasn't rock style.

You know I thought it was before I looked ot up. I thought the calm island theme was a soft motif to Vandalize which would've been cool as hell but oh well the song still fits Sonic I just wish the actual main theme wasn't so underwhelming in comparison.

Music is great as always, but watching the footage of sonic fighting that tower with the spinning ring, I can't help but wonder if the cyloop can pick up dropped rings like NiGHTS can pick up collectibles.
It can, they showed it in the latest combat video.
Correction: you cannot pick up dropped rings with the cyloop, you spawn new rings that are automatically drawn to you. You still have to pick up your rings when you get hit.

Man, I just love the high energy of this remix! I know the Starfall Islands have a more somber tone, but the electric guitar adds that Sonic flair to it.

Thinking about it now, the best of both worlds would be to have this version when the song has a reprise on the final island.
Use the original for the first and then come back hard on the last one with the guitar version.

I'm not sure why but this cover reminds me a lot of the palace in the sky levels in Sonic and the Secret Rings. The one area where you rescue Knuckles. Just chasing after those sky monsters while listening to this type of music

I want Tomoya Ohtani to make this theme again, but this time, add some more orchestral accompaniment because this came to be almost reimagined with Sonic Unleashed and re-create motifs from Crisis City from Sonic 06.

Some of the Frontiers remixes I've found remove the emotion of the music. They're not bad remixes, and if they were remixes of any other Sonic game, I'd probably think they were cool. But I prefer the emotion of the original OST.
BUT I can accept this remix.
