Thats the only potatoes i have ever grown. They were from eyes cut off of store bought potatoes. Red ones and golden potatoes did fine. I grew them fine in a pot and also in raised bed.

From your experience, are 5 gallon buckets (Lowes) large enough to grow potatoes? I've drilled some holes in the side for drainage.

Hi there 😊 You can definitely try it out! I'd just recommend 2-3 plants per 5 gallon bucket at the most to not overcrowd them. You'd be best off with 2 but in case one doesn't sprout you have the 3rd. So in my example I planted baby potatoes and planted them whole. You could plant 2-3 baby potatoes. Or if you're planting larger potatoes that are cut into smaller pieces then plant 2-3 of those pieces. Hope this helps!

I have planted potatoes three different times and only got one small potato from each grow bag😢

I’m sorry about your issues with growing potatoes in the past. There is a variety of different things that could cause you to not have as much success when planting. Possibly the seed potatoes were bad themselves or maybe the wrong time of year planting. In this video I give lots of tips that might be helpful, I hope you have better success next year!

How do I keep squirrels from digging my plants any advice .

I’d suggest putting a netting over your planters or however your garden is set up to hopefully keep them from getting in. They can be huge pests!
