(With the Top 4 being the 4 Heavenly Kings). Jellal is this much of an amazing person. He was counted as that even when splitting his power between his Siegrain and Jellal Form!
Juvia and Gajeel can compete with Natsu and Gray (Gajeel is probably the weakest of those 4, but even so), Mira is at the same level as Erza, and of course, Laxus and Jellal each outclass the entire team A, it's not even comparable.

I think Gray is stronger considering how he did against Rufus, and Juvia might not be that powerful, but her magic completely destroys certain types of opponents (for example, Gajeel would never defeat Juvia no matter what he did, because he only has physical attacks. Same for everyone else who doesn't have any energy attack) That's why I said Gajeel was probably the weakest at that time. Also, pretty sure the stats were explicitly said to be inaccurate because they were written by Jason, wasn't it?

They are the exact people that fought Hades and as It's easy to assume Erza gave Makarov a detailed report of the fight and given this was presented to him as a team competition .... Old man decided to go with a known 5 person team that he was made aware works well together. Of course he also staked the deck when given the chance with team B which if power focused. I can't say I wouldn't do the same in his place.

It has some great stuff, but some really bad stuff also. They didn´t train for 3 months but Natsu still won easily against 2 people (Sabetooth) and the tournament final was rushed.
The Hidden game has the exact same rules as Assassin’s Creed multiplayer in the PS3 era. Considering Hiro Mashima is an avid gamer, having made a Monster Hunter manga series, and these episodes/chapters were made when Assassin’s Creed was in that era, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mashima played the game and wanted to pay homage to it in Fairy Tail.
Team B is just overkill. Two Dragon Slayers, Two of the Element 4, A former Dark Wizard in disguise, A Demoness. And all of them are S-class in power level. Bruh.
