- sorry for the long time between videos, been busy with seeding and youtube uploading issues. i got a 6.5 ip, injectors. and i got a awesome single plane J code intake from jim and jeff(turbonator on dieselplace.com) thanks guys! and it works great!
@tpvalley its a single plane J code intake. its single plane, meaning that its just a big open hole to all the intake runners. and J code means its non emissions, so there is no EGR valve or tower in the way for airflow.
Glad you've been able to upload a video. The jake brake is awesome.
@livelliny its engine braking at high RPM's. i threw it into 2nd while doing about 53 MPH. the mods on the engine to make it make that sweet sound is a straight piped exhaust and a J code single plane intake manifold.
@Brockway700 depends on the airfilter condition. new filter, about 14 pounds, clogged filter, about 10. no studs or gaskets. engine as far as i know has never been dismantled.
@91CTD yea its a 12" one. brand new as of february 09. has maybe 5000 KM's on it. if it starts to slip its getting a high friction ZOOM clutch.
@FunwithFarmToys yea its one of them IDI diesel things. when theyre straight piped and have a big open intake it barks out the exhaust when theyre engine braking. no jake brake on there. but someday i am installing an exhaust brake.
that its badass. especially love the jake
@6030diesel oh lol. i figured any low HP factory diesel will have a little clutch in it and i figured the turbo and stuff would just ad more power than the stock clutch can handle. i think gm uses a 12" disc
@clank4001 NP833. its the 4 speed trans with 4th gear as OD.
@livelliny you can pull it down into 2nd gear manually. that should make it happen id think.
@cumminsboy071 wish it was a jake. but its not. just an IDI diesel slowing down from high RPMs haha. sounds real cool echoing off the buildings in town.
speedometer goes up...... looks like the fuel gauge was dropping lol! awesome
@91CTD these things are nothing like your big ol cummins. you dont need to upgrade the clutch on these engines. im assuming you can make around 300 horsepower before having to worry about the clutch. and to make that you need a big ip and those are hard to come by.
@More350Power yea darn fuel sloshing around in the tank.
u can have injectors modified if they are pintle types especially.
@bowhunterJohn635 they dont make high performance injectors for 6.2's. well they do, but theyre a waste. they dont do anything without a turbo. the best injectors you can get are 6.5 turbo injectors. you can only use them if your engine is newer than 1983.
@bowhunterJohn635 there is no good way to make a 6.2 without a turbo smoke. if you must blow smoke, buy a pyrometer and install it. next watch my video on how to turn up the injection pump, and then watch your exhaust temps on the pyrometer. if they get above 1100*F (which they will in short order if you're deliberately blowing black smoke) back off the throttle or your pistons will end up being vented to the crankcase.
@6030diesel i could go a fair bit faster if i had a better downpipe since EGT's are the only limiting factor ive found so far. ims ure i could get it to wrap the speedo back to 10 KM/H then it would hit the govener in OD
@FunwithFarmToys i probably did, but i meant just the sound. i dont even think you can put one on a regular 6.2 like this.
yea i am, no A/C on the truck. so no clearance issues.
@bowhunterJohn635 those are a rip off. theyre built strictly for marine engines. they will flow more fuel ONLY if your pump can push it, since yours DB2829 injection pump wont even push the limits of the 6.2 injectors, theyre a waste.
Ok, I gotta ask, how did you make the jake brake sound??? Good build, btw.
Nice how much longer till the clutch starts to slip
we need to line are 6.2s up my friend lol
@6030diesel wow a 6.2 can hit 190KMH, my buddy and i where discusing how fast these would go as mine was let me say undriverbell when i bought it
@6030diesel Oh, I thought you said it was a jake brake. Maybe I should talk to an ear doctor? LOL
@gmtgmt123 im guessing around 105 MPH or 190 KM/H
so, it runs better with that single-plane manifold? I was going to use the one I got with my 'new' engine, but I opted to put the dual-plane back on there... i didn't wanna have to cobble anything yet.. xD
question since you had this truck with no turbo and then you put a turbo on it have you noticed any loss in low end and when I say low end I mean from idle and just over idle with the turbo I have a similar setup to yours but not using cause I want a/c I am considering buying a banks or just a banks manifold and using what I got but when I hear the 2 words turbo and lag together from others with turbo diesels I worry about loosing the strong hard pulling that my truck can do with no throttle
I think you said this on another video but I can't seem to find it, how much boost are you pushing? No head studs or thicker gaskets?
holy hell, howd you set up that jake brake????
@6030diesel So no hope for a 700r4 to make that sound, huh?
Whats the deal with the Jake? Where is it hooked up, and did you install it?
WHAT YEARS 6.5 INJECTION PUMP ? AND THE 6.5 TURBO INJECTION PUMP IS DIFFERENT THAT NON TURBO 6.5 DIESEL?
I am in need of new injectors found some off a wrecked 95 6.5L do you know if these will work? and if they do will i need to use the 95 injector lines aswell?
I have a 1985 6.2
whats the J plane manifold?
whats top speed on this brent ?
@96318dakotaify ill give you a run for your money for sure :D
