I just subscribed to your channel looking for decor ideas for my baby boy's first birthday! You make arming a ballon arch seem like a vegas magic show and I am here for it! Love the balloon color choices!
Hi! I order all my (non dollar store) balloons from a distributor called Mayflower Distributing company. These are called Diamond Clear Glitter Roses-A-Round by Qualatex. I have seen some comparable clear printed rounds at large party supplies chains like Party City. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I definitely LOVE your style !!! I'm gonna have quite a hard time with the "spiral" step of the rose....... Is there a special reason why you use a 260 instead of your usual ribbons, to tie the two quads together ? :-) I thought maybe because it is smaller than the usual columns and doesn't need such a strong material as ribbon ??
Hey Emma! Yeah, I learned this technique from a twister named Twixter a couple years ago. It's all about stretching and twisting the final 260 portion until it is so malleable that it acts like a 160. You could also attach a red 160 to the green leaf base and just do that final step without having to transform the 260. The reason I used a 260 instead of ribbon is because it is not only the perfect size for binding such a short structure, but it means that everything from the weight to the binding agent joins the rounds and 260 roses resulting in an pure balloon approach. Every material is latex. Any time I have a chance to do it this way I always will - it's just that full size columns realistically require ribbon for better stabilization and quicker assembly. Thanks so much for your comment!
Thanks :D I was actually asking about tying the quads together with a 260 instead of a ribbon, but your answer about the rose technique is just perfect ;-) I might like the "add a 160" version better, because I would probably choose a slightly different colour to finish the rose, or the same colour in a cristal version ^^ Thanks again !!!
Emma HYSAE hmm, maybe I wasn't clear enough. Yes the 260 is used instead of ribbon because it is the perfect short length for a centerpiece and because I like the idea of every part of the design being made of balloons. You can use ribbon in place of a 260 no problem! I Hope I was more to the point in this response, haha.
Just great ! Thanks :D Oh I realize I had not seen the second part of your answer Sorry, my bad !!!!!!! (not much used to UA-cam comments and the "see more" option yet...)
Lol! From so many places. For top quality pro balloons, I order online from Qualatex. They make the best twisting and decorating balloons in the world! Then, there's party supply stores. There is a huge variety of round balloons and mylar balloons at popular party store chains. They are less expensive than ordering, but the quality isn't as good. Finally, what I am currently best known for - taking dollar store balloons and creating professional quality columns and centerpieces from them. Over the last few years, dollar stores have had an incredible increase in surprisingly good quality balloon stock. Here is a link to a dollar store balloon column vid that I made last month. I hope you will check out more of my vids! Thank you for your question. m.ua-cam.com/video/1EuPQR5ELaQ/v-deo.html
