@@joeclaridy What's to stop them? UA-cam is the real "channel owner". "Content creators" retain some level of copyright over their works, but UA-cam has no obligation to recommend it, run or not run ads, allow comments, censor or not censor comments, etc. They recently revised their firearm policy to further restrict responsible educational content, while continuing to allow the glorification of violence in movies and music.
When Brandon gets his ak 50 finished and “on the market” it would be pretty cool to see a melt down and durability test…

How about Red Right Hand uppers? They are made to shoot full auto fire! They are built around controlling heat in all the components! It would be very interesting to see how well they actually do in continuous fire.
Nice! Definitely looks like the Aero BCG is the major culprit of the malfunctions here with the ejector and extractor claw, probably want to run a bit of a heavier buffer too.
Try that upper with a KAK Kspec BCG. It’s got dual ejectors. That was textbook ejector problem. Having had this problem happen multiple times with various BCGs on machine guns. Dual ejectors is a must on that. Not strictly necessary on semi autos but on machine guns absolutely

@@GoldenWebb can’t wait. I’m a huge fan of your melt downs! Maybe reach out to KAK and see if they’ll send out a few of those Kspec BCGs for future testing. Also, I’d love to see a meltdown on a griffin MK2 upper if possible!
the m240 has a single ejector
@@theHSPCproject with a significantly stronger spring that doesn’t get the same heat and endurance testing that AR bolts do. They’re used in a specific cadence to protect themselves for longevity and durability. Plus, being an open bolt machinegun allows the bolt face to cool when the variance is broken whereas an AR bolt stays directly locked with the heat source
Pushing the gas port forward 2 or 3 inches will probably help with the extraction issues (in addition to a better bolt and a heavier buffer). A 24" barrel makes an extended gas system possible
good point, its got a ton of dwell time with the longer barrel after the gas port
By the looks of it, wash out of the gasport in the barrel, witch then again comes down to barrel material used here is not sufficient quality. Awsome video 🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
When we tested Polymer mags in the military back in the day, they really don't do well once the rifles got hot. They get soft. Rounds start double feeding. They won't hold the bolt back when empty. I have no idea why they adopted the things.
I would stick to USGI aluminum (with Magpul follower) and HK High Reliability steel mags for these tests.
Pmags and Thermolds are 2 totally different animals. I had a 20rnd thermold and that thing sucked. The Pmags have never let me down and I've had the same ones for 10 years
Not all polymer magazines are the same, PMAGS by Magpul are top notch and do not suffer from heat. They are good to go.

I feel a lot of these issues are mag and BCG related. A fuck ton of double feeds causing stoppages
Mags run fine. All in all these mags might have 4 loads in them. The gun got severely overgassed which is what caused the failures in my option
Polymer mags will double feed & fail to lock the bolt open when the rifle gets hot. About 400rds, and Polymer mags really start to have issues.

He was being nice but to market something as an LMG then have it fail after so few rounds is pathetic.

I would really like to take a PSA jackal and throw in a 20 inch heavy barrel and do an LMG style set up. I’m not a diehard gas piston fan. Find them to be slightly less accurate and just a hair more recoil than your typical AR system. That being said, I’m not trying to cause an argument I think piston set ups are great firearms. To each their own. But one thing I will say is is the weakest link in the AR platform with sustained fire like this is the gas tube. Now I know it’s designed to pop the gas before it pops a barrel With a gas piston set up or hack a roller delayed set up that would be best that if you’re going to call something an LMG. I’m currently building an AR RPK because I think it’s dope but I know it’s limitations. Now with this HBAR set up I think it would be a phenomenal AR RPK.
Although I appreciate the idea of trying to maximize the capabilities of the AR-15 platform, its especially poorly suited for this role.
To me this is a step below the M249 which is a belt fed AR-15 plus a few more features. The AR-15 with a few modifications can do the squad support role.

You witnessed one of its non-military uses if you watched the video.
This weapon isn't used by any military. This is a novelty made specifically to push the envelope of this particular platform and experiment with certain configurations and specifications to test its capabilities. Stop hand-wringing and approaching from a position of bad faith and ignorance.

Question: do you test fire and change the buffer weight for each upper or do you run them all using the same buffer? This one looks pretty heavily gassed.
