Forgot to mention, you can also grow sprouts from lentils and beans, video is here: ua-cam.com/video/2sMvtFgy2Gs/v-deo.html How is everyone doing during this time period? Is everyone increasing their gardening efforts?
We've just about filled all our available space and we also just built two new raised beds on my wife's parent's land. We're going to grow more than ever this year and hopefully have enough to give some away to people in need. :)
Thanks for the video! Good to see you and glad you’re healthy. Hope your family is doing well. Gardening is my salvation and the best thing to do right now.
Nowadays all Sri Lankans are growing vegetables in their home gardens to face this crisis. The government supports us and they sent us vegetable seeds and plants to the doorsteps.
I only have a balcony and some shelves with a grow light indoors. I’m growing microgreens, lettuce, spinach, radishes, green onions, miner’s lettuce, oregano, sage, basil, broccoli, kale, 4 types of tomatoes, 4 types of peppers, moringa, strawberries, daikon, carrots, peas, perpetual spinach and more. Gotta get creative when you don’t have much space.
Ditto.. I'm a former 7 day a week worker going now down to 3 hours.. very difficult times for all of us. Hope you have a great day and congratulations with your gardening..I, too have been doing many diys and gardening trying not to go to grocery stores too much 👍
I'm breaking out my pack of survival seeds but I'm a newbie gardener. I came to UA-cam for help and VOILA!! I found YOU! Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. Godspeed to you and your family.
Thank you so much for this video, Jag! I am currently talking to my landlord about rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic closures which is always a stressful and anxiety-inducing situation. Tuned into your channel to calm down and found that you just released this video today! It was so comforting to hear you say such positive, calming things and twice as comforting to know that I've already started germinating nearly all of these recommended vegetables. Thank you again, you truly are helping myself and so many others. Keep gardening and carry on!

Well since the zombie apocalypse, end of the world happened, i also got on the grow your own food thing. Only, im the most slack ass person & idk sh about gardening. My friend just introduced me to your videos. #1 you’re my favorite farm crush, right now. #2 this video helped me plan my garden almost completely. Thanks!
I was looking for easy vegetables to grow and found your channel :) We are lucky to have a backyard and some soil: due to the current events I'm trying to help my mother plant other vegetables to help deal with the produce price rises. It is true that knowledge is power, and I would like to thank you for sharing yours. :)

I came to UA-cam for help with gardening about 6 months ago, and I’m so glad I came across your channel! Thank you for all your tips and tricks, some great advice, especially in times like these 😊
Thanks so much. Great video packed with fabulous resources. Just started growing veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, mustard greens, kale, spinach, squash, zucchini) inside of my home (fabric planter container). Looking forward to growing potatoes out front of our townhome. Limited space but maximizing the outcomes.
In my opinion best survival crops to grow are: Perennials grow once and eat them for a long time Sweet potatoes - you can eat the tubers, they are a perennnial, leaves can be stir fried with garlic taste better than spinach Tree collards, the perennial 10 year kind - grows all year here in ca doesn’t go dormant in winter. can juice stir fry a little tree with lots of kale like leafs you can make chips and juice it. Pigeon peas- I didn’t know how delicious this one is a perennial growing pea tree grows hundreds of peas that taste so sweet and yummy Morninga- if u have snow grow in pot so u can bring in doors it is one of the most nutritious plant leaves out there I take this like my multivitamin, seeds can been eaten also can be used to purify water, I watched a documentary on Africa where the hospitals had no medicine but gave these to very I’ll kids and they recovered because it had so much nutrition another reason they call this the miracle tree - you can search the term Experimenting the Madagascar bean also known as the calico bean can grow seven years , chestnut like tasting beans, also know as the calico bean u just throw one of the seed pods in the ground and it will grow another plant for 7 years, still learning about this one Gynura - purple one taste better and sweet it survives all year in ca through winter. I use it for stir fry and also between my sandwiches a perennial bush easy to grow not much pest problems Good luck on your survival garden!!
You are a doll.I just found your channel and I cant wait to start growing some herbs and veggies.I live in a very small studio 190 sq ft. I do have a very big window with great sun. I think im going to hang some shelves or a vertical ladder and hang plants from it. Its a scary time in the world right now and this video is perfect. Thank You so much excited to watch all your videos.....lov
May I recommend Okra? It also grows extremely fast! Pick them before they get too long. 4.5 inches is perfect. Any longer and they become fibrous. I’ve had okra plants that I could harvest every 1-2 days when it came time to produce. All with minimal effort. Eat it raw, sautéed, pickled, in stews, soups and gumbos, dehydrated with spices. Try Okra!!
William Lomers Oh goodness, yes. When I was a kid, my dad would get me to help harvest whatever was in season on the property. When we got to harvesting the okra, we would eat about every 10th one raw.
So this is the 2nd video I've watched from you and that convinced me to subscribe. The way you present is to the point without preaching or talking down to the audience. I also Like how you added postivity to the video and make it feel t hat you can overcome lifes challenges through gardening and being sustainable, which is also true. With the rsing cost of food is is comforting knowing you can provide for your family without overthinking the process of how to grow your own food. Keep making the great content!
Thanks for the encouragement. Only just found your site and last few weeks I have dug up a veg patch .and planted some seeds ,,, and also germinated some indoors ,and planted my peas and beans ,,,really made up !!!! Thanks

I think that people should grow as much as they can. with everything that's going on we need to know where are we are going to get water and food. I left Brooklyn and moved to Puerto Rico. Here I can grow all year round. great video. Thanks for showing us.
Again, I appreciate all the information that you share. I'm looking forward to moving some of the new babies outside later this week. Thanks for the tip about beets. I certainly will try some leaves in my salad. Keep up the great work.

Also, i already watched some of your other videos among others and i love the info that you bring in them so concise and without any other bs surplus that make people leave. Keep it short and "viewer" healthy and we'll all benefit from that. Healthy information it would lead to healthy life. No i go to see the rest of the video ;-)))) Cheers and be well man.
